I'm gonna be that guy and say that I've weighed the options and decided to give this board a shot. No prior experience with MSI or Gigabyte, and my current experience with ASRock has been less than stable. Works fine most of the time but have intermittent issues with blue screens, RAM issues, crashing during music production and gsming... my previous experience with ASUS, however, totally solid. I was gonna go for prime but the lack of wifi killed it for me because it meant I had to dish out another 30 dollars on a wifi card... So I'm getting this instead, since it already has wifi built in, and has better power delivery to CPU. Not the best, but I'm not planning on overclocking, in fact, if anything, I'm gonna be underclocking and undervoltinh, because the 7950X loses all efficiency at stock clock and just eats more power than it should to get the last bit of performsnce. Not to mention it becomes a nightmare to cool. I'm not too worried about lack of USB 3.0 options in rear I/O, I'm glad to see two USB-C ports, one of them being 20GB. Will do nicely for connecting my audio interface to for lightning fast transfer, and, hopefully that helps eliminate any latency. Realistically, there's going to be a maximum of two USB 3.0 devices plugged in the back anyways. If you have a million outboard storage drives, probably better off with gigabyte, but I got my storage internally, all 10 GB of it. The only thing that I hope this thing will be good at is taking my ripjaws S5's and clocking them at 6K Hz. If not, then at least keep it at the rated 5600.
Does it have native support for nvme boot? Can you load the operating system with nvme? Also what ram did you use? Thinking of building this for myself.
@@fullstack5461 I struggled to boot from my NMVE drive and I also had issues with my RAM XMP (called EXPO for some reasons) profile, this mobo sucks unfortunately.
im sadly getting this board because im in a hurry since i already have a 7600x at hand :D but it was on sale from 224 euros down to 189e, and on top of that i get a 20e cashback from asus which makes this one of the cheapest full size b650 in my country at 169e euros. far from ideal but im getting it so fast for cheap im hoping it will do fine in a pinch.
£139 for me in black Friday sales. Looks like the price hasn't gone back up either, it's still dirt cheap now too. The next cheapest full size AM5 board on Amazon was closer to £200. At that price, this is a perfectly fine option if you're not shooting for massive overclocks and don't need 69,000 USB ports on the back.
Having less USB type A ports on the back is not that big of an issue, they can be hard to get to it has 2 x USB 3.2 connection so you can use a hub that sits easily accessible on the desk
loved the review..I was going to order this one...would you mind suggesting me the better or your personal favourite. I'd be glad to have you opinion on this one.
I'm getting this board... I think the two USB type-C ports will be more useful in the future... also I'm upgrading from an ASUS board that I've been using for a decade, ASUS products are the best and last almost forever.

hello I know its late to send a comment for your 5month video. I am planing to buy this mobo with the new 7800x3d what RAM would you recommend ? thank you
I've got 4 of these boards running 7950x procs with Deepcool AK620's (yes, I'm air cooling them) doing some rendering work, and they hum along fine at 5 ghz across all cores for hours and not throttling. The issue I have with these boards is their crap RAM compatibility, at least with the G.Skill Flare kits that Micro Center has bundled with them. None of the 4 examples I have work with the EXPO profiles enabled, and the systems are only completely stable at VDEC/4800-auto timings with both the freebie 5600 (36-36-36-89 @ 1.2v) and two flavors of freebie 6000 (30-38-38-96 and 36-36-36-96 @ 1.35v) kits regardless of which of the 3 available BIOS versions I test with. For my use case it's not a huge deal since memory timings don't significantly impact rendering speeds, but I'd be awfully upset if I was buying this board for more general use with some high-end RAM and got stuck with potato DDR5 speeds.
That is good info. I'm running the B650E-F ROG Strix board with the G.skill Flare CL36 6000mhz and it runs great on that board. I was thinking of doing another build and downgrading to this MB, but bummer if it can't run at the 6000 speeds. I also use a deepcool ak620 and they do great with the 7900x cpu (one lower than yours).
I am looking at the same boards and it seems like the gigabyte board may be the better option because many of asus's new motherboards have been crashing and/or blowing up the am5 socket cpus even after the bios update
I Boght the Asus Tuf Gaming B650 Plus WiFi (havent tested it jet) and in this Price range there was only this other Mainboard that you manchend here and it's silver and I have a black Case so in my opion it looks a bit better but I also hate this military orange look. But it comes with some Stickers in silver so you can give it a quite new look (they aren't on jet). And the two MB cost a differenz of like 40€ in europe. And you fergot to manchen that this board has a 20GB/s port on the IO. And the other board only has a internel 20GB/s port and most of the cases only support max. 10GB/s for the front panel. But a nother problem is that the board only has 2 internel USB 2.0 ports. If you want to use more you have to buy a splitter or hub. And there often problems to controll things like RGB. Offichel thhy have 4x USB 2.0 but there are only 2 Ports. And this is a problem because i have a lot of Corsair Hubs and iCUE things and they all require an USB Port. And their is a thunderbold 4.0 header but you only can use it with an extentchon card. (Sorry for the terrable spelling, but I'm from Germany).
I bought it since it had a good black week price. Seriously if you need more USB ports one of those USB c ports comes in handy to connect to a USB hub. At least it has a m.2 pcie 5 slot as well, something almost all gigabyte and MSI boards on the same price bracket lacks.
