The Ultimate Christmas Gift: 17-month-old NICU baby finally headed home

“This is a day we hoped and prayed for. We are overwhelmed with gratitude,” says Georganna Gaines, whose son, Phillip, was discharged after more than a year in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at UNC Children’s.
UNC Children’s teammates played Christmas music and cheered for Phillip as he headed in cap and gown to his home in Dunn, North Carolina.
