Man, I just wanted to take the time to tell you that you have been such a huge inspiration for me. There has been so many times I’ve been discouraged with music and on the verge of just putting it down.. Every time I think about doing anything like that I think of the adversity you had to face with the focal dystonia diagnosis and it just motivates me to keep moving. You’ve taught me a lot over the years from just watching your videos and you’ve been such a huge motivator and influence on me and thousands of others. We love you dude.. you’re humble and honestly just a genuine gift to the metal world and I’m so stoked you have put out so much music for all of us man.
Christian always inspires, he is a neverending source of great ideas. Not only in his Solo project but in Eternity's End, Obscura and Necrophagist as well!
Don’t forget spawn of possession too, I swear he’s was in all of my favorite bands at one point. His vision for what he wants his music to sound is so sophisticated and imaginative
Favorite guitarist, hands down. Any time I need inspiration I just listen to your music. As someone with chronic health issues, you really inspired me to keep going even when I was gonna give up. Cheers, man!
Thanks to you I also use those gloves too. I get them in black though. Glad to see you playing your songs. I love your solo albums, and the beauty is everyone shines in the music. I love that purple Ibanez too so sick!
I really wish Petrucci still played like this. I still love him, but as he has gotten older he seems to go for it almost all the time. It gets a little boring. Where as Christian just keeps getting better and better, like Govan. He is just a monster that never fails to inspire me to go play or write. It looks so smooth, natural, and effortless whenever I watch Christian dance around the fretboard. Only Gilmour, Lifeson, Petrucci, and Gilbert have had as big an impact on my playing. So, he’s in good company.🤘
I assume by "go for it" you mean the super fast alt-picked licks that have no real melodicism to them? I got into DT in like '13 but started with Images and Words and the "issue" I assumed you had basically started with Rudess joining the band I've noticed, SFAM isn't bad solo wise (The Spirit Carries On is one of JP's best) but I was starting to feel when going through the discography chronologically he possibly thinks he needs to maybe "keep up" with one of the most talented and skilled musicians playing today? Not sure but as a result melodicism is in the backseat, I love Falling Into Infinity's guitar solos....the songs are meh typically but the lead playing is awesome, not super "metal" of an album but
@@robflores5172 disagree that it has the same tone. Chris has more of a unique prebend style for sure along with his solo phrasing and overall skill being a few steps up.
In the video Christian is wearing a special glove, and as he explains, "Since 10 years I suffer from a neurological disorder called focal dystonia, which causes involuntary muscle contractions in my fretting hand. I am wearing this musician's practice glove as it helps a bit to reduce the symptoms of my left hand dystonia; because of the texture of the material the brain gets slightly different sensory information from the fingers, and the dystonic impulse is not triggered as heavily as without the glove. I only use it when I play really difficult stuff. It's a good tool, although the effect wears off over time."

One of the most monstrous guitarists alive. A living legend if you will :)
Deeply Inspirational! Thank you man for your music!
Christian, please never stop making music🖤🤘
Good shredding Apparently some of this track was intended to be on an obscura song/album with Hannes and Christian years ago

Yes!!! One of my all time favorite shred albums man.
Also, I’ve always wondered how the part at 4:10 was played. Love it!
One of my favorite tracks of the album, always nice to see you play
Brilliant
wicked melody
Just nailed it again big bro💯💯💯🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿

Awesome playing and awesome guitar. 😛
Man this is awesome.
1:55 solo from unreleased obscura song "imaginative soul"
Not normally into the 7 string stuff but I like this, Christian has such an innate sense of melody. He reminds me of Ron Jarzombek in ways 🎸
Amazing song and amazing performance!
Awesome, maestro. Speedy recovery Christian
Awesome as always.

So sick. Just copped Eternity's End, Unyielding tab book as im still working on Timewarp hahaha
A lesson on your guitar whammy technique would be dope. You have a very distinctive tone from it
Listen to Toxik

Is there a purpose for the left hand glove?
focal dystonia
hei mate, nice playing. Is there any special reason to use that glove protection? aint that any harder? servus!
Looks healthy, in general.
Loved it. Especially 4:10 blew my mind. Whats the chord progression of that beautiful passage?
Amazing as always!!! Why the glove though?
helps with dystonia
Nice info gan 👏
🤘
Dude, always so fucking clean!
FUCK YEAH
😎
Obscura epic strap
Hi, I have a question. Is your last name münzer or muenzer, because I see it spelled both ways.
German "ü" can also be written as "ue" if the letter "ü" is unavailable.
Hey Christian, how is the writing coming along for the 3rd Necrophagist Album? If you need a Drummer, message me
He left Necrophagist 16 years ago haha...
@@bogg4n for context, he has been joking about it on his fb page for some reason

suuuuuuure ;)
Why the glove? Just comfort or does it change the sound in any way?
I think it was to do with the medical condition he is dealing with.
In the video Christian is wearing a special glove, and as he explains, "Since 10 years I suffer from a neurological disorder called focal dystonia, which causes involuntary muscle contractions in my fretting hand. Badass playing! But whats the purpose of the glove? Just curious?
Он у Антона Опарина занимался?)))
хыыыыыыыы
Why the glove? This is how I imagine a computer would play this.
I think it is because of the medical condition he is dealing with. Quite sure he explained it in a video.
