Firmware Not Compatible Solution for iPod 3g 8gb

First thing you need to do is download the iPod Touch 2g firmware (either upgrading or downgrading) for your iPod Touch 3g 8gb

After downloading, you need to place your iPod in DFU mode in order to restore it properly.
iPod/iPhone DFU Mode: • IPHONE DFU MODE
You're then going to need to restore it once there with the firmware you have downloaded. Simply hold Shift (For WIndows)/Option (For Macs) and click restore, select your firmware where it is saved on your computer and then itunes should extract the firmware to your iPod.
Once done that, you can jailbreak your iPod with either Blackra1n, Redsn0w, or Jailbreakme.com (directly used on the device).
