Crouch cancelling the snake dash is very good in neutral too, in fact it's the most important skill in using a snakedash, since it's the only way you can block while in a snake dash.
LooneyLili personally how hard do you think cancelling snake dash into sidestep into block is? While IMO as a keyboard player it's very easy since i can just press the individual directions, idk about pad/stick players since they'd have to be more careful about hitting diagonals
Nathanael Eugene As a pad player I do not find it difficult. It is about as hard as any other movement in the game, except the mishima wavedash stuff. The movement you described is essential for Jin players to cancel his stance and everyone I have seen so far could pull it off after a little practice.

I play on keyboard (I'm more used to it since when I was a kid my parents couldn't and wouldn't let me get a console so I could only play PC games, plus KBD is near unfailable even on backsway chars because you can just hold down the second b and press d to get a d/b) so personally to me it's very easy, since unlike with a stick it's very natural to move between the cardinal directions without going through a diagonal because you can just press a key to get one. While I'm more of a Feng main (whom side-step cancelling snake dashes is even more important because his SS4 is just straight up a hellsweep, but with a clean hit restriction), I'm looking to picking up Lili to dodge the Feng and Jin matchup (Feng's b+1+2 hits males except for Bob and Akuma grounded/after CH 4 Jin has to do 2, 4 to pick-up a combo but it only hits males) since she plays kinda similar to Feng, looking forward to more guides!
The thing with the diagonal keys is true! And yes, lots of female characters can evade some juggles which is a nice advantage. I hope you will have a good time with playing Lili, you might struggle with opponents sidestepping you though.

LooneyLili Lol! True. The average online player seems to think she is broken. Funny how she doesn't place high in tournament play though. Love her character though. It was Feng and Lili that really helped me to understand Tekken a little better. Who else do you use? I'm mostly Feng and Lili, but play a little Nina and Kuma. Want to learn a Mishima and honestly, Chloe seems like fun.
Great tut. Good to see some Lili guides on movement. So is there no wavedash and korean backdash/backdash cancel like movement for Lili? I just started learning these movements with some other characters but it doesn't seem to work at all with Lili. Maybe I need more practise.
Thank you. All characters can backdash cancel, but wavedash is exclusive only to a few ones. Learning to backdash cancel takes time, try to do it slowly but with proper inputs first and gradually increase the speed.
Alright thank you!!! I was able to do forward dash followed by qcf it covers some distance. Then just forward to kind of cancel it to do standing moves. Else she does WS moves.

Just try pressing D and holding d/f for a little while. If Lili stays crouching after dashing in a little, you are doing it right. Then just let go of d/f to do a WS move.
Can you give some tips on how to counter Paul at beginner level? I am just learning and a lot of Paul players just mix up big hit strings and I am unable to understand when crouch guard. And his big damage hits are so fast that I am don't know when to punish with Lili.
His main mixup is deathifst (qcf2) and demolition man - the low that trips on hit for a juggle. The low has bad range so if you stay away from him, it will not hit you. Deathfist can be punished by Lilis 31.

You are right about that. She is very intimidating for opponents that are not solid IMO.

I'm having alot of trouble doing the crouch dash. Do you use the DPad or the stick? And do you hold your controller regularly?

If the 2 4 is whiffing, you are not doing it fast enough.

It is ff3 f(hold) - are you holding f after ff3? because from the notations you just wrote me it seems like you are not doing her dew glide after ff3.

I already explained it in the video. You do ff3 f (dew glide transition) and tap up - that is how you crouch cancel.
