  • In his keynote speech at the MatchPoints Seminar 2017 at Aarhus University, professor Francis Fukuyama discussed the significance of the Reformation on the development of the modern European state. He also emphasized the the role of Martin Luther when it comes to the formation of a modern concept of identity.

    A true multi-disciplinary scholar with an immense knowledge of global history and political science, always a joy to hear his analysis. His biases are still present, but tend to be considerably less than his peers. For example I’ve never heard him mention the treatment of American Italians and Japanese during WW2 in this freedom loving liberal country of his, or the use of non US territory to carry out extra judicial detention and torture.
