    Delicious, the bacon is so different than in USA. I remember when I was in New Zealand the bacon there is also different, more like what we call Canadian bacon here, so yummy.

    Had bacon and eggs yesterday and sausage, egg and chips this morning. Wife bought home 2 trays of double yoke eggs awhile back and I had the last one this morning. She works at a hatchery and gets free eggs every so often. Yeah not a happy camper when an egg breaks but I still eat it. Safe travels

    You want to get the buckle of that strap on the side of the trangia rather than on the top, though. It can damage the pan if it gets squeezed or knocked in your bag while it's on the top.

      @@theoutdoordogandhikinggirl yes it will, I have it. I also have the mini for hikes if I want to make something small but the 27 is perfect for 2. For extras I got the 2-1/2 L cook pot, the 27 fits right inside the pot, the multi-disk, 8.7” fry pan (bigger than the 27 set), the pan stand so you can use different pots like Stanley for example, the 8” aluminum plates two of them, and a bigger Trangia strap 72 cm. The system goes perfectly inside the pot with the stand, the bigger fry pan and plates under the pot. All tied up with the bigger strap still makes it a compact unit. I car camp thus weight is not an issue although still pretty light and just as compact considering all I got within my system. That way if I need to cook bigger meals I have no problem. Hope this helps.

    Devastated about the yoke though. It leaves you with a glass half empty feeling.

    G'day Stu, I know your missus is an Aussie, so just wondering what she says the difference between U.K. bacon and Aussie bacon is? Serious question. These days Aussie bacon seems to be pumped full of water. They do sell it by the kilo afterall. 👍

    • @Bo88y22
      @Bo88y22 3 роки тому +1

      Most bacon is full of water it is how the cure it with nitrates. It’s very hard to get a decent bit of bacon nowadays. Trying to make a fry up is more like a boil up these days

    • @billybunter3753
      @billybunter3753 3 роки тому

      @@Bo88y22 Yes that's what I've found. 20 years ago if you weren't careful, your bacon would burn in no time. Now it just boils in its own water.

    I like tattie scones with my bacon and egg breakfast. They are very difficult to get in the West Country where I live, so when the little stash in my freezer from my last trip to Scotland has gone, unless I get extremely lucky I will have to start making my own. I know it is only mashed potato, flour and milk. A million times better than the American-inspired hash brown which you can get everywhere.
