At opposite hotel sea gate you can see hotel picnic which operated by hotel sea gate which we stay 1 week back for 4 sharing they provided 3 share room which was sufficient they take 2400/- per day without gst have to pay cash and for 2 days they take 4800/- for family of 4 members it's really best and walkable distance to main church and neat also good for family as we all are female family members visited Also they provided hotel food i. E from sea gate average so we bought outside veg meals and fried fish and plates cost for lunch around 400/- we four shared it and in morning we bought tiffins near church by walk only.. Finally I think this experience may help you guys to plan for tour by God grace, there should not be any problem in your travel and makes a happy trip.

Vellamkanni is a religious centre .People from all over the world visiting there. Budget Hotel is Rs.1000 per room. AC room 3 star or 4 star cost Rs.3000 to 4000 per room or more. It is a minimum rate. Common people cannot afford. Near private bus stand and Market Area, it is not good. Common people can stay Church controlled Hotel. Every thing depends upon budget. Traveling by train is good. That is the best public transport. Own car or flight is good. By tourists bus, over stay is difficult.

I stayed in rooms near bus stop, Rs 1200 ac room for 3 to 4 members and was clean and neat. Non ac room for Rs 800 to 900. But no food we should have it out. 🙏

I think it's not budget rooms, it's, 2 star, or 3 star ...when I went there last week I stay in a lodge behind this mary land hotel, ac room rent 1200.but the other facilities not good.also rooms available for 1500 to 2000 in other lodges with good facilities..

Unhygene Food nd water also not good salty water nd drinking water also not good so plz dont eat out side only cook urself by renting domestic gas available there per day /per1hr 10rs dont know exacty and shrine rooms are for 800 they will return 400

From Trichy cab costs are too much... You can either catch a bus from tanjavur which will take 3 hrs to reach or catch a train from tanjavur to Nagapattinam and from there to velankkani
I did travel from Trichy airport via Poondi Mata shrine ,the cab driver halted the night and drove me and my family to Trichy airport they charged us 11k
Today every Tom, Dick, & Harry starts to be a camera man but they don't know the basics it is not to hold a mobile and start to record or film they don't care to do the right way of shooting.

We stayed in church AC room years back it was very worst not at all clean dirty curtains beds bed covers worst un cleaned rest rooms with poor water supply.one priest who s in charge of maintaining rooms not at all monitored it seems.its very pathetic dat church rooms collecting money without maintenance

If you want 1500/- ac rooms is available at hotel gold sand something they take 3000/- ac for 3 sharing can 4 people adjust here for 2 days
It won't be less than 4k per day and you say it is a budget room without mentioning prices.
