As a long time Tigers supporter. I'm so excited to see Smillie in yellow and black. Watching the RFC preseason videos he seems to be a natural leader and his skills look like they match the experienced AFL players. So excited for Round 1, watching this kid go up against Cripps. He'll get smashed by Cripps but he'll learn a hell of a lot from the experience. Great video Dylan 👏👏👏
Great stuff mate. Have subscribed as this is exactly the content I love Would it be possible to reduce the overlapping effects when showing player highlights but? As it can be hard to make out what's happening at times (this is something you may have already changed since this vid is 2 weeks old)
Hey mate! thanks for the comment! will take that on board. This was my first video in this kind of style so just playing with things a bit! will try to make things easier to see in the future :)
Wow! I do agree that the midfielders have evolved. I personally don’t think josh will rank higher that o’Sullivan once he gets form back after his sideline stint but he is a contender for sure!
Wow, excellent video, excellent content. Fantastic editing. There's so much junk content in AFL media by the guys who get paid big bucks to do it. This is as far from that as it gets. Well done.
@@JoshKearney-g1c thanks mate! Definitely still in the exploration phase with my videos! I edit in premier pro and I use overlay and text from motion array for assets.
I really liked this video and its content but I wish you didn't have the film effects going over the player footage, it added a nice element of production quality but made it impossible to see the actual footage you were highlighting. As for where I think Smillie will go, I'm watching this a month after you made it so things have regressed for Smillie a bit now who has had a form slump of sorts and I'm hoping beyond hope that he somehow slips to Essendon at around the pick 10 mark. However I don't think he will and my guess is Richmond will get GC's top pick for Rioli and Smillie won't make it past there if he's even still on the board at 5 or 6.
@@jaydenatkin7241 hey mate! Cheers for the comment! Yeah I was playing around with some new overlays and probably went a bit over the top 😂 yeah his national champs were a bit down productivity wise! He certainly fits the bill for Essendon, I liken him the most to Tom Green! 10 might be a stretch though, Harvey Langford is another big bodied mid that would be in Essendon’s thinking too! As is Bo Allen.
@@Balcny8084 I think with Richmond already having Taranto and Hopper who are quite big bodied they’ll still opt for either Finn O’Sullivan or Jagga smith. Makes it interesting though. O’Sullivan plays his first national champs game this week so we’ll get a good look at him!
Decent video but I don't know why u would use a edit that displays footage in red when u can't even make out what players are near the ball on the field
@@justicedemocrat9357 Hey! Video wasn’t trying to suggest that small midfielders are out of the game. More about balance! I don’t think there’s many teams that don’t have atleast one mid pushing 190cm. Once one team puts size in there, the others need to match!
Why? Because most social media analysts are 20-30 somethings that only see football through a statistical lens. They have not had enough exposure to the game in order to cultivate a good organic sense of junior potential. Smillie isn't pick 1 & I doubt he's even pick 5.
@@DylanAlexanderFollowsDraft Interested to know or potential video idea. With the emergence of Tassie in 2028 should clubs like Richmond, blow it up (NBA term) trade key players our for getting as many draft picks in this draft or over the 3 years
@@bacillus5 yeah it’s a good question! It’s so hard for clubs to react, with all the question marks hanging over the draft rules! I’d love to make some explainer videos around that. I’m pretty strong on the idea that a team like Richmond should be pushing to get 3 maybe even 4 picks in the top 30 of this draft. Could completely change their fortunes if they get it right.
@@DylanAlexanderFollowsDraft Explainer video would be great! Even challenging the idea that you need to keep your experience when rebuilding. Hawks blew it up and same with the roos. One did it well the other not well
Definitely not number one O’Sullivan will be our number one with our number 2 pick from nth Melbourne will get Jagga Smith and West coast will give us there number 3 pick for Bsker and will get either Langford or Lalor

In a future video can you discuss if clubs should pick best available or the player that best suits their list
Amazing that you would do a video talking about Smillie and ground balls and not mention the high number of times he fails to keep his feet.
Outside of Ashcroft. Smillie, Langford and Lalor are the 3 that stand out to me. They all look ready to go.
Well put together this video mate. Curious to know what software you used to do it? Keep up the good work

The eventual top 5 suggests height is an advantage rather than the main deal maker.
As a saints fan Im excited by all the mock drafts having us get him at pick 8/9. Steal no?
no. Tigers got him.
Rate the video. Glad I stumbled onto it

Yeah then how does one of the smallest mids in the AFL, Lachie Neale have 2 brownlows?

Lalor or FOS will go number 1. IMHO by the end of the year these two will easily pass Smilie.

Knowing them and there list manager they still won’t pick him 😂
FOS seems to be the better skilled midfielder
Yeah I think that’s fair, Smillie extremely equiped for a 194cm mid but it’s hard to argue that FOS isn’t the most well rounded
