I'm 91 years old and you are keeping me alive. I've seen everything you have put on UA-cam and look forward to it every chance I get. Thank you and stay safe and healthy.
@@AdventuresofanoldSeadog Barry , you really have the romantic heart of the poet , the way you said you like to think those two trees were kissing for the past 200 years . That was lovely ... also the music when you were in the forest was excellent and spot-on . You would be a wonderful music supervisor for the film industry , etc .
Dr Pepper , I thought the name RAN looked familiar I actually was subscribed to them briefly several years ago ... got a new phone and lost all my subscriptions and forgot about them till a couple minutes ago . I watched one of their videos and yes I like their style very humble beautiful souls ... and I re-subscribed . I like the people who are down-to-earth and good-hearted like them and Barry here .... people who keep it real .
Lol the guy concerned about how much beer you drink, you don't even drink much. Also beer makes life worth living, a man who's sailing around the world and enjoying his beer is to be commended, not criticized. You go Barry!
Dylan , As a woman, I have never really liked beer ... only the first sip or two ice cold when it's really hot out ... I can actually go years without drinking one beer . But when Barry drinks his beer and especially just now the way he talks about it and really loves his beer ... actually has me craving cold beer and I'm not even a beer drinker ... he could probably do well making money advertising beer .
Iys funny . As we get older the requirments for deserving a beer change drasticly. It use to take me a week of hard work to be able to reward my self with beer ... ok many beers lol . Then it was like if im doing a project in my shop . Now its .. well she a warm day ,i deserve my elf a couple of brews bud lol . To the fella that was concernd about your love of the barley nector id say . Don worry about that bloke you dont need that kind of negativity in your world blahahahaa . Cheers to you bud ⛵️🍻🇨🇦❤ Have a great day eh🙂🍻⛵️🇨🇦❤
Having been an avid UA-cam sailing channel follower since 2018 when I was laid up on the settee for over 3 months I have become very discerning on what I watch now. Some have become very gimmicky, full of promotions and all about themselves. Your Channel has always remaining informative, non pretentious, and very objective when giving account of equipment you have bought, let alone enjoyable and a pleasure to watch. Thank you and keep up the good work.
Cap wearing sailors in days past dipped their caps in the sea so that they tightly gripped their skulls and prevented them from blowing off on windy days, try it, it works!
G'day All, the first tree as people have said is a eauculiptus of some sort and so is the second one. Even though it looks totally different it is indeed a "stringy bark" endemic to Australia's south east coast, specially Victoria and Tasmania. The bark of this tree was used by Aboriginal peoples to build bark canoes. Cheers from Tasmania. Looks like you enjoyed that beer Barry!
They were also exported to many places including southern California. They get big and when they get old, they get fragile and sometimes break or fall over, to the immediate peril of anyone close. The bark is also used for medicine.
Love when you take us on your hikes, Know you dont like to exercise. Also Enjoy the sailing. Thanks for sharing all these Beautiful places with us🤗😁 fair winds.
Hahaha. I quit drinking beer 9 years back Barry, and it does me good, but I think your beers keep you in fine shape. Sail, and dare I say, drink on! Good show mate!
Whether to beer or not to beer is one’s own choice. Obviously the sea dog has one occasionally, so do i . I think that fellow that posed that question might be concerned with more pressing issues in this present day … just saying… Sail on sir .. Good winds to u Sea 🌊 Dog ..👍
Hi Barry. When does a chisel become old? Plenty of good meat yet left to sharpen. Miss out the chisel stage totally and use the grinder to shape the end of your boat hook shaft. Enjoy your videos.
Don't worry about the beer. Your English. Agincourt and all that. Your far from some of the dockside sots you get around here. And in warmer climbs it's safer than the water.
Buy an ATN Mast Climber. They are terrific and allow you to work at the masthead while sitting, not standing like with mast steps. Plus no windige and no fouling of halyards like mast steps. Look on line.
Good day Barry. Another interesting walk into the bush. You old romantic, “ the trees are in love”, oh well move on. Great way of recovering after a dodgy curry, hair of the dog. Stay safe Barry
Stuff me stubbie mate, I reckon if you can count the number of beers you have before ya go to sleep, you've had to many . But if you can't remember how many you've had or forgotten to count the number of beers before you sleep, you've had just the right amount. Great stuff mate 👍
Cool, the cup is a Stanley with a Grolsh type snap lid. I've always liked them. They even make bottles like those and they are great for home brewers. Ann is a great lady to know.
In Australia we would call that boat hook job 'rafferty's rules' or 'rough as guts' but if it gets the job done with what you have available then all, is well! Nice one.

Robert, thank you for the nice comments, cheers, Barry.

Nothing better than a cold beer on a hot day.
If it wasn't 5am in the morning by me, I'd join in on having a beer!

Brilllllliant Barry! Thanks for sharing 👍

Beer is life, the rest is just details.

Keep Calm and Drink On.
Love you videos not getting productplacements like All other
Always good
Cheers Barry!
Barry I love the end segment. When you addressed the chap who was concerned about your consumption I cracked up, you're a card.

The first couple sips are the best you're right!
Making a Friday even better, thanks

Looks similar to Madrone!
Great video. .
Do im right of what i see.. Is that a new boat of yours barry.. Really fresh and cozy boat wow! Congrats then..
good stuff
You are so cool.
SPAM! You need to try a yellow curry with SPAM, potato and onion.....
Barry I have got to say you are amazing and inspirational to all.
Looks like the Pizza and Burgers are still a dream.
We have those gigantic ferns in Hawaii too.
Run a line to your windless to hoist you up to inspect your mast..you use the remote to put you where you need to be
Okay, I get it, when you drink beer you are called Stanley, but sailing you are Barry… 😉🌟👍
A good way to wind it up
Cap wearing sailors in days past dipped their caps in the sea so that they tightly gripped their skulls and prevented them from blowing off on windy days, try it, it works!
Nothing wrong with enjoying a beer bud.
Wilson's back... I'll drink to that!
“The View” 🎶
Enjoyed your wondering threw nature’s wonders. It’s a pause that refreshes.
One of a number of different types of eucalyptus trees.
Glad to see you are drinking a 2E...Bravo
Beer, beer, beer. In heaven there is no beer. That's why we drink it here!

Like my Dad used to say, "The Brewer's tray got in the way and his day's work was done" THEN he'd have another beer. Keep up the good work!

‘Beer is food!’ Or so they say 😎 - stay safe from a windy Blighty!
Barry excels on Improvisation👍 Always Entertaining & Great Attitude😜 Continue to Stay Safe & Enjoy😎
Thanks, will do!
Baz, you could of used the flat disc on the drill to grind down the dowel, still if it works is it wrong?😅
Tui !!!!! Yeah right !!! hahahahaha.
Thanks, as always, partner.

Eucalyptus Tree Barry I believe, had one in my garden in East Sussex
Drink all the beer you want!
Thx Barry for your new adventure. After the passage of the storm Eunice I needed this!
Gotta keep that beer Cold!

Great story telling by the Seadog

"How can you not like beer on a hot day." You have spent the last few years having a blast!
Thang you for another nice episode. I am watching several sailing channels on UA-cam, but the old Seadog is my favorite.
That first tree, with the shreddy bark, is eucalyptus. Only thing koalas will eat, mate.
poplar tree, we have many in south Louisiana

The Two Trees: "An Eternal Embrace."
Hi 😀👍
In Australia we would call that boat hook job 'rafferty's rules' or 'rough as guts' but if it gets the job done with what you have available then all, is well!
Nice one.
All the best from Blighty Mate
Surely it's still possible to add some steps to your mast now, or better still, wait until you get to OZ and Magnus will help you.🙂
I think Barry mentioned that he didn't like heights in one episode.
It would be right up nutshell and magnus to sort out the mast problem. Think it would make a part 1,11,111 series with magnus and barry.
Sam Holmes put in some practical steps, good video
Thank you Barry for Harry tree...
Love your adventures. You seem a little weary of the sailing, rest up, look after your self Barry.
