I personally inserted the original Ridge Racer theme song on Metro City. I dunno, feels just as right, on a personal note. Also, you might already know this, but it seems that Daytona Championship USA is basically a graphically souped-up version of SEGA Racing Classic.
Jawan Meizu Rave, V and 7 were all awesome soundtracks too. Haven't played 6 so can't comment. Haven't really properly played Rage, apart from a quick go on a demo years ago. Basically I love any kind of dance music generally.
This might be the least important complain, but I kind of missed the older cars’ decals. I grew up with Daytona USA on PC, and still playing it now, so I could recall the colours and numbers of some of them. Personal favourites are green-and-pink #10 (T-rev), blue-and-green #31 (B. Gum), and light-blue-dark-blue-combo #3 (err... I don't know what sponsers it has). It would be great to see the updated version of these cars. A couple of things I see / used to do: - When I’m playing on PC Mode (no time limit, more cars to choose from), I would purposely sabotage other cars (by getting ahead of them and slowing down to 2nd or 3rd gear) so that they would stop hogging the 1st place (especially #69, CarEx). I let the #31 and #10 graze ahead of me. :P - #00 is a total a-hole. He would purposely go in front of me to block me. - If your car is slower than the other, it is possible for YOU to get bounced and get a big crash. I learned that with #69, who was way too fast and hit me during the turn. I also once saw a #69 (I think) hit #7 from behind, and both had a big crash. - #16 is a total pain to race against in Advanced. He doesn't lose that much of speed on turns, for whatever reason. - I don't know what the heck they have against #7 and #8. Always taking the last and second last places for all the races. #7 just seems like it doesn't understand the concept of a 4th gear.
Valentine Clarissa Alanis Star Maxwell Constantine #16 for me at least is a good challenge at all the circuits. Even at the hardest difficulty if you make one mistake even if was a minor one, he is right there.
For #16, I feel the most pain on Advanced. For Beginner and Expert, it's usually #69. For the PC Port, choose Endurance (80 laps Begineer) and Very Hard enemy level, choose the Orange car (the one which only loses 2-6 mph when hitting a wall), then do the cheap tactic of just crashing once on the turn (I did that a lot, oops). Even with that, you just cannot overtake #69. He will lap you once you reach 40-50th laps.
I'm still not sure why all versions of the Hornet #41 stock car from the first Daytona USA game swapped their places for different transmission types for different tracks in this modern arcade racing game. Plus, why didn't they just keep the track and car selections completely separate like in the first two arcade games?
This track is begging to have Skyscraper Sequence in the background, and two laps, missed opportunity there Sega, also wish Daytona 3 could’ve had Daytona 2 tracks instead of mirrored originals

In Championship mode you are expected beating Metro City in a single lap, but I couldn't find in all youtube a video showing that. Did actually anybody ever made it?
Not Metro City, but a Spanish UA-cam amigo of mine called Masked Ninja uploaded a video where he beat the Seaside Street Galaxy track in Championship (which is the same map as this, just mirrored) in the game's single lap allowance. Even more impressive, he did it with a pad an automatic gears 😮
I've seen my Spanish UA-cam amigo Masked Ninja get a 1st on Seaside Street Galaxy in this modern version of Daytona (using AT as well!), so there's bound to be a video of someone doing it on this course out there. I get 1st or 2nd place on this track quite a few times if I really concentrate otherwise it's a 3rd place finish if I'm not being too competitive. Try being more aggressive coming into a turn by dropping to second gear to drift in the tighter turns. But shift out second as soon possible so you don't lose too much speed. Works for me every time.
Metro City is amazing. Sad my laptop is so crap it can’t run this without being slow and only showing Windshields and break lights and fences and grass. I would love to play this at full 60FPS at school breaks.
For one I don't understand why is this a 1-lap race. I just realized this race too shorter time to complete than even the 8-lap beginner race. Also with 1 lap, the difficulty of trying to get 1st place is super hard.

First thing that came to mind as this course loaded and I saw the scenery of this mirrored track was Daytona USA 2's Skyscraper Sequence song.

Good choice! I love the music to the Ridge Racer games. RRT4 is my personal favourite BGM in the series as a whole.

Yes, but instead of changing your tires in the pit lane Poison and Damnd just smack you over the head with a crow bar and steal your Hornet.

Yep, it makes it incredibly difficult.
Sega should do a home port of this game the modern consoles can run it at 60fps no problem.
