Awesome! Thanks for your support! Stoked that my films motivate you!! Great stuff for your Ultraks! I did the 50k format last year. You will find it on my channel.
Merci beaucoup!
Thanks for this video. I had a big smile watching it as it gave me a flashback to my run in 1995, which I finished at 4h52 min. Amazing experience and beautiful memory. Congrats again on your finish and big big thank you. 😀👍👍👍
Thanks so much for your kind words Peter! Amazing that you did it as well bravo! 1995 is while back, i hope you can one day return and do it again! By the way i have a few other films on different races, i hope you can get to watch them as well. Soon to come will be the conclusion: will I finish the 100km and 6’200m D+ Swisspeaks 💯 😉
Thanks Dean! You’re right the video doesn’t really show how steep it is; i was totally taken by surprise by the steepness. But was well worth it the scenery was epic!
As someone who dreams of doing this and UTMB someday but whose training and determination is falling apart, your film is very inspiring! Makes me want to put my trail shoes on and run!
Thanks so much for your message and kind words! The hardest part is taking that first step. I did a few other films that you might enjoy and I hope you will find the strength to get back out there 💪
Thanks! Yeah this was during covid in 2021. So it was over a month but i chose the same day as the elites. I did a bunch of other races on my channel if you are interested.
Another great video! I saw some very technical parts... I suppose you wear specific trail running shoes - some tips here? Currently using both the Asics Trabuco / Salomon Speedcross. Thx!
Thanks! Wasn’t too technical overall compared to other races like swisspeaks or Ultraks for example. I use the Hoka Speedgoat 4. My go-to shoes for trail running. They are awesome!
Amazing documentary about your road to a 100k (!!) ultra. Great footage and the map really gives a clear perspective on the route. Going to take on a 62km run in Austria next August, any training tips for someone living in a flat country? Thx and keep the good work going!! Kr
Thanks a lot really appreciate it! 🙏 awesome you are taking on a 62k ultra! 👏 what i learned is that even though i live in hilly Switzerland, my runs were insufficient to strengthen my legs: i have now added leg strengthening exercises and i think this is what makes a big difference. This will save you on uphills and downhills and compensate somewhat what you don’t get in terms of elevation gain during your runs. Another idea is to find somewhere where there are many stairs and go up and down. One guys from Paris trained that way to prepare for Sierre-Zinal and he actually finished in front of me: he trained in the Trocadero stairs haha
Thanks for the great tip. Will definitely mix in strength/stability workouts in the training plan. Then before the race it might be a good idea to spend some time at altitude, to get used to it :). What's going to be your next challenge?
@@jaukevisser1737 for the altitude as long as you stay under 3’000m you should be fine. The only races where i felt sone oxygen issues was during the Zermatt ultras which had sections near 3’000m (end of the ultra marathon and near the beginning of the Ultraks). But if you have time to exercise at that altitude that is really good training 👍 Next objective is going to be UTMB in 2023. I need the necessary points to do it so 2022 is going to (try) and collect these.
@@gaetantinguely4632 merci! A bientôt sur les sentiers!
Lovely video, i am running my first trail race next year (30k Ultraks Zermatt) and your videos have been a big motivation!

Bel effort et paysages! Merci de partager la vue, ta course et ton état d'esprit. Je n'avais encore jamais vu le fameux Sierre-Zinal. 👌

Great job again, that looked like a hell of a first climb, i doubt video does it justice how steep it was. i could feel your pain!

Awesome! In summer of 2022 I will run Sierre-Zinal! Great content!
Awesome! You’re gonna love it! Especially if they do the group start with all the fantastic atmosphere!
same here, lets do this !

What a great video of a great race. It looks like you started individually? I raced there in 2009 and remember I started in a large group.

That must be a great opportunity. Especcialy the first 12km i felt the pressure of the big crowd on the narrow and steep paths.
