The physical language carrying through from young Sophie on their last day, to the Rave footage with adult Sophie and Callum, really did pay off. I felt real pain when Frankie Corio pushes him away (on second viewing), knowing how desperately she'd be trying to reach him ultimately in the rave scene. So well done. The film is just so powerful.

I’ve watched many, many films and I don’t say this lightly. This film is a masterpiece, a visual piece of art that reinvents film making, Charlotte is a genius and incredibly talented, along with everyone else who played a part in making this film. I have never been so impacted by a film or had a film fully capture an emotion or experience I could relate to. Wow just wow!

Charlotte deserves so much praise. Paul Mescal is as good as you’ve heard but Frankie Corio gives the best child performance I have ever seen. That doesn’t happen without immaculate direction and the movie doesn’t work without that performance. Aftersun is a masterpiece

Saw the film this evening and was blown away. Charlotte Wells has made something of artistic relevance. So contemporary. A film d’auteur!

This is one of the most unique films I have ever watched (out of 2000 ish movies I watched). I am sure this movie will always have its position in history and it certainly will have a spot forever in my heart.

I really am hoping this film wins some Oscars. It would be so fantastic for Paul Mescal to win for best actor. Also, little Frankie win one too. I have only seen clips from this film and the clips affected me so much.😢

@@duncanmacphee200 I tried to watch it earlier today on MUIA streaming service? HOWEVER, I couldn’t get it to work on my iPad. I may just get it on iTunes. But, I will see it!!!!!!

@@duncanmacphee200 I watched it two days ago and WOW, that little girl was FANTASTIC!!!!! Mescal was brilliant as usual. But, Frankie made this movie so special. I can’t even name just name one moment or moments that made me feel emotion. I cried at the very end when it shows grown Sophie. This was such a wonderful experience. I will always remember how it made me feel.

As a youngish father with some "inclinations" (don't know if this word makes sense in English) for depression, I am terribly scared about watching this film. Even watching the trailer made me terribly upset but at the same time curious about it.

@@baristhealienated I felt the same way. I had watched the trailer and cried real tears so I saw this movie and for me it wasn’t sad just very sweet and touching. The relationship with Callum and Sophie felt very natural and very real. Such a great story about the love of a father and daughter and the effects it had on Sophie as an adult. I was very scared and apprehensive before I watched it. So glad I did though.

SPOILER ALERT!! I watched this movie yesterday, long time i wanted to watch it tho and.... i dont really know what to say about it. It left me empty, cause all the tears i needed to get out and because it is so well directed, edited, so detailed, full of silence that talk a lot about what is happening. The last dance scene is just a gorgeous, sad and tough way to speak about a memory that is in your mind about a person that passed away and you dont want to let him go , a person that was so important as a father. It gets me in tears a whole day just thinking about it. it is a MASTERPIECE and it deserves every award that is nominated to. Paul Mescal and Frankie Corio's great acting as well. Repeat, not just with action and dialogues can express such a painful memory that this is and Charlotte Wells got it right. 10000/10
