Another day, another "Pirate Doom 2" map. Again this map is so pretty. Always when I watch one of the "Pirate Doom 2" videos it just makes me smile. Colorful, nice pirate music, not too insanly hard gameplay. Oh and your commentary is enjoyable. I wonder. Pirate Doom Guy has an eyepatch. But does he also has a peg leg? Oh I start questioning things like Batgirl does in her Doom videos :D And yes in the end it was the Fortress of Doom. I mean there is the "Doom 2 Wad - Castle Doom" which is ONLY on my channel. Nowhere else on UA-cam has that game on the channel. I wonder why. It is pretty good. And as you said, the maps are getting a little bit spicy. But it is still not too tough. Oh yeah you did found a few seagulls in the map so Yay :) The next map already sounds super fun again :) I guess I will see you in the "Y'e ol' Shipyard" or how it is called :D
Great video as usual, nice action-packed little map! 1:00, I checked it, and it's likely a Fort - Fortresses are typically larger and more expansive in terms of layout and defenses. 13:11, but it's only half as fun when they don't gib. Can't wait to visit Ye Old Shipyard!

I love the pirate zombies and their dialogue. If you listen closely, you can hear them singing 99 Bottles of Beer when they’re idle. And of course, the pain sound just being “ow” is funny.
When I was playing this level I saw a cannon at 15:00 at the top right on the ceiling. I couldn't find a way to lower it down. I touched all the walls around it and nothing lowered it down. Maybe it was decoration. I really want to IDCLIP to it but I'm trying to resist using it.
It could be either a) a super non-secret area, b) just decoration, or c) it's meant to tease you. You'd have to open the map in doom builder and see if it has a trigger to lower.
I just checked. It's definitely accessible without cheating. There's a red-ish - white shootable switch of some sort carved into the horizontally opposite pillar, assuming you're standing in the center of the room, facing the invisibility sphere, which places it to your left. It's only visible if you look straight at it, with little tolerance for angle movement. Hit it with a weapon of your choice and the pillar with the cannon will lower. 🙂
