This seems to be a 2005-2006 M6 vs the original 2003-2004 model Gallardo. The specs for the Gallardo: 500hp@7800, 376lb-ft@4500. The specs for the M6: 500hp@7750-8250, 383lb-ft@6100. People don't realize that the specs for these two cars are very similar, except the Lambo is lighter (better launch), and the M6 red-lines much higher (better pull at the end). By the numbers, the Lambo would win a short race every time, and the BMW would win a long race every time. No surprises here.
Thank you. No slalom runs so far. The BMW M6 8250 rpm matched with a 7 speed gearbox really do put the power to the ground. Do not miss my other videos!
@CroAuslander There is also something called "AWD Powerloss" which is the amount of power lost from the crank to the wheel in AWD cars, which is usually 25-35%. Lamborghini revised the AWD and suspension for the 2006- models to address many of these issues after criticism from the press and customers. As a result the AWD system in my LP560-4 is a lot better at distributing power between the front and rear wheels as speed increases than the 2003-2005 models. (Continued)
bmw is weak , they need to start taking tips from amg and stop trying too hard coz AMG rules PERIOD. THE M6 IS A SHIT CAR, THE SL63 MASHES IT , NOT TO METION THE SL65 , BMW ARE ONLY GOOD FOR 325i bmw needs serious help the new m5 is crap cnt match the E63 AMGS , even though the benz is older it still is better than the later m5 and will be better than the facelift to come and the pp so bmw grow some balls before competing with the big boys , stay down there where you belong with golf gti and toyota altezza lmao

@holmansmashbros the race finished both in 6th gear... the M6 having 7spd manual transmission as opposed to the lambo's 6spd.. this makes a difference when your racing distance considering gear ratios at those speeds.
@TheSlaytanicTom not completly, bugatti has italian roots, and is indeed manufactured in France but all the bits and parts are german. Its actually german enginering from VW
I have an E55 AMG and wanted a convertible 4 seater and test drove the M6. it was awesome. Felt much more nimble than its weight would suggest. It reminded me of my old S2000 on steroids and crystal meth. It didnt have the wave of torque the AMG has, and didnt feel quite as fast, but the overall package was better. I think we will get one.
@Mightyaurrod About two years ago I would agree. But now it seems American car makers are starting to innovate again. Something we haven't seen since the 60's and 70's.
Well the newest Gallardo (Not sure if I'm forgetting one) is the Super Trofeo Stradale: 2954lbs, 570hp@8000rpm, 398lb-ft@6500rpm. The new (2013) BMW M6 is 4255lbs, 560hp@5750-7000, 500lb-ft@1500-5750. Although the new M6 has its full power available over a longer RPM range, the new Gallardo now redlines higher (8000rpm) than the M6 (old M6=V10@8000rpm...new M6=V8@7000rpm). The new Gallardo is 0.8 sec faster to 62mph and is 2.2 seconds faster to 124mph... I don't think this is a fair race anymore
THE M6 IS one of the most beautiful cars in the world - and at the same time, the most sophisticated and powerful 6-Series ever: five- liter engine capacity, 10 cylinders, 507 horsepower, 383 lb-ft maximum torque, and engine speed beyond the 8,000 rpm limit.
The F13 M6 can sit 4 ppl and store decent luggage, FAR more comfortable, luxurious and economical, probably triple the amount of options and electronics as the gallardo, can be driven as a everyday car and as a very very fast car, fast enough to be able to compete with cars such as Gallardos. Its a whole lot cheaper too. Performance wise, 0-100k/h 4.2 sec BMW are always conservative (real time probably closer to 3.7, as is with F10M5, 4.4 sec, real world 3.7sec) 0-200k/h 12.6 sec. Pretty good.
@fdawg122 you are wrong, this version of the m6 isn't electronicly limited, it has a topspeed of 345-375 km/h depending on the transmissin, the gallardo only a topspeed of about 325 km/h. also the m6 has about 800hp and the gallardo 500-570hp. that's why he can beat him.
Surprising result! Considering they both have similarly sized V-10's with about 500 hp. I would have put my money on the lambo. must have been the AWD system.
yeah that's exactly right, but that's the point. If you would see lambo in regular daily traffic like some M6, lambo would loose the exotic expensive look. If you r rich, you wanna have something different, expensive, what people look on it and say: "hey look at that lambo". Nobody say this on M6 driving around even though is faster and more comfy.
ill have you know that a cobra is not just a gt with a supercharger it has also has suspension, axle and tire upgrades and it was built for drag strips and circuits it doesnt handle bad like most muscle cars and i never said dealerships sell the gallardo for sticker price cuz dealers can sell em for wat ever they want i was just sayin that the msrp on a lp560-4 is 268k good day
@groillazdark9 Think about it. The BMW, when unrestricted, can do around 205mph. The Lamborghini's top speed is around 191mph. They are both 5-litre V10's meaning this is a good match up. The BMW won fair and square. I'm not biased towards either side, I like both cars just as much, just accept that the BMW has the edge.
AWD is good for taking corners, which is what we were talking about I slow down taking corners, and then speed up at the apex for exit speed what do you do? thats perfect for awd since they get more grip accelerating off slower speeds what do u mean they aren't good for high speeds?
@italforza well dont know where you got this information from :D but (if your statement is true) both audi and lamborghini belong to VW so thats why maybe some technologies are switched etc. So lamborghini isnt that italian anymore since it belongs to VW and uses also the german engineering power!
Why are so many people doubting the M6? It'd win in every race vs a Gallardo if given the distance; the Gallardo has better accleration, true, but the M6 has much better gear ratio at HIGH speeds. This is why if you youtube M6 vs Gallardo on highways, the M6 can beat a Gallardo quite easily.
gallardo does have less power but it also has AWD and it's a bit lighter. but on a rolling start the AWD doesn't really make a difference unless the m6 is making too much power to hook.
oh i thought u were refering to the video...yeah they are better off on corners. AWD tend to lose hp at top end because of the power being divided to the front wheels. FWD isnt good for high speed pulling because the front rises with speed thus gettin less grip which means less power to the ground so RWD is much better so basically AWD is wasting hp to the front wheels thus being slower than RWD at top end.
personally, i am impartial....these cars are great...but i like them for different reasons. Plus either one could win that race and they have engines in nearly equal size
@NekrosProjekt Technically it can be both, just depends on how you look at it. German owned and SOME German engineering. Most of it is Italian engineering/designing and built by Italians.
@doomie61 the reason why is because both audi and lamborghini is owned by volkswagen, so if you see a resembelance don't think that they stole it from another car company, because maybe they own them
The MSRP could be $268k, but that would mean it's loaded w some serious goodies. However, you'd be crazy to pay that much for one when you can pick up a slightly used Gallardo for about $100k and twin turbo it for another $20k or less.
I don't own a M6, but I own a M3, and by seeing that BMW's most powerful car could beat a 2-seated Lamborghini is just amazing. I wonder if my M3 could do that, or anywhere close to that.
4 things, 1. its the old gallardo which isn't as fast as the new one. 2. even when it was new it still wasn't the top of the line gallardo. 3. the new one would destroy any bimmer, people have tested it 4. it is still VERY impressive that the ///M6 could do that... i love BMW :)
@Mishatko1 Honestly I've only ever seen one M6. I see Lambos more often than the M6. And I live in Seattle/Bellevue area. The only M6 I have ever seen is my cousin's but it's in Portland. No joke. And I'm always on the lookout for cars.
For around the same price of the m6 i rather buy the Corvette Zr1. If I'm not mistaking (correct me if I'm wrong) The BMW is v10 5.0? Corvette v8 6.2? Just my opinion. I still think the BMW is beast it did take a Lambo, impressive.
Does nobody read the description anymore? This isn't the G-Power or the Gallardo SE. Quote: "This Gallardo is the 500 HP version and not the Gallardo SE. The BMW M6 is totally standard with less than 10 000 km on the odometer."
@piaggiociaofreak They are both german cars, since Lamborghini is owned by Audi. I'm pretty sure that Gallardo and R8 share a lot of components, like the drive train and engine to name one(or two :-) ).
@catalyst216 wow wait i didn't see something in your previous comment: the turbo 1300cc hayabusa? 1300cc?? you must be kidding right? BMW M6 was stock V-10 engine 5000cc nopt to mension the G-Power with Twin Superchargers Hurricane RR
these two cars share the same engine the M6 is heavier than the gallardo but what really comes into play is the gallardo has more drivetrain loss cause it's 4 wheel drive so in high speeds it's always going to lose. usually a wheel drive loses 15% to the wheels and a 4 wheel drive loses 25% if they both have 500hp the bmw is getting 425hp to the wheels when the gallardo is only getting 375hp to the wheels and this is why the gallardo loses.
@KingAcura1125 The Lambo jumped before the M6 because of AWD buddy. This Gallardo is the first generation Gallardo with 500 HP and an incredibly power wasting AWD. The result is legitimate as the official 0-120 time for the M6 is 12.6 seconds while this Gallardo will run it in 13.3.
It's nice to see intelligent people arguing about two cars and how fast they can accelerate in straight line - beautiful! That is the soul purpose of using your IQ :] If you should buy a car, just because It's a beauty and you really want to be in it.. would you really, I mean really buy a BMW ? I woudn't. But between these two cars? Yes, I would go for the M6 than gallardo, because the gallardo is just a disapointment (unlike Murcielago which is a beauty).
m6 is rear wheel drive while gallardo is 4 wheel drive. given the rolling start, m6 could easily beat it giving full power to the rear wheels while the gallardo has its power destributed over all 4 wheels and its system forces all wheels to be the same speed and its almost the same horsepower, m6 for sure. but if it werent a rolling start, lambo.. cuz the lambos 4 wheel drive gives it a much faster start from 0to 100
@drkmjishin you still cant travel with your family in a murcielago. bmws are known as street cars, in which you can have fun, or travel and transport things. they have much power, especially the m6, about over 500. for sure we know that the murcielago would crush any standard bmw, but therefor it doesnt have the qualities of a bmw i mentioned before. if someone told me: choose a car with which you want to win a race, i picked the lambo, if he told me to pick a everyday car, i chose a bmw. ;)
Well, the M6 is a nice looking car as well, and can totally PERFORM!!! It's a BMW, the performance is a given, however one thing the Lambo has over the m6 is probably better quality material, slightly better handles, and exhaust note :D. That said, I wouldn't mind having either!!
dont know why u guys saying its fake as i have a e39 m5 and raced a Gallardo which had been tuned up and i kept up with it. BMW's ARE UNDER RATED BIG TIME
How to know has what rpm it is necessary to shift gear for best performance optimal? For example in X5m shifting at 7000rpm(redline) or 6500 orange zone on the rev counter in bmw M for the best performance? because i want participated at your run but i don't know if it should shift at the redline or at the power max of my motors (its 5800rpm power max in bmw 135i for example redline at 7000rpm,so why the zone redline isn't at 5800rpm or 6000????WHAT necessity going to the 7000rpm redline????).
@NekrosProjekt it is based in Italy, but unfortunately, it belongs to (maybe) the most conservative companies now-audi. even the engine is not Italian, it is based on the 4.2L V8 from Audi, modified to a V10 it is sad to say but i think lambo has lost its lunacy we all loved
the gallardo is for prestige it wasnt made 2 be extremely fast in a straight line it was made for people that are living the good life and just want to cruise in a sexy, easy to drive machine
This seems to be a 2005-2006 M6 vs the original 2003-2004 model Gallardo. The specs for the Gallardo: 500hp@7800, 376lb-ft@4500. The specs for the M6: 500hp@7750-8250, 383lb-ft@6100. By the numbers, the Lambo would win a short race every time, and the BMW would win a long race every time. No surprises here.
4wd on the gallardo is a big disadvantage on a run like this
The rev counter of an M6 tacks out at 8,250 rpm's I believe. It's a monster.
Thank you. No slalom runs so far. The BMW M6 8250 rpm matched with a 7 speed gearbox really do put the power to the ground. Do not miss my other videos!
S85, the best V10 ever made!

yes, the worst v10 ever made is today in the huracan performante / r8 v10 plus which fucks every single bmw :)

there have been other versions of the Gallardo since then though, I drive an M6 but I can;t see it being able to take a Gallardo

@GrabbinSomeHAX Technically, the V10 is from Lamborghini. They took the Lambos V10 and put it into the R8 V10 and decreased the HP a little.
@Damunity R8 V10 has a slight increase in HP, manual gearbox and likely some other extras to help refine the brute muscle of the Lambo version.

they have chips that eliminate the governor (the thing that stops your car at a certain speed so that you don't burn your engine).

Well, the M6 is a nice looking car as well, and can totally PERFORM!!! It's a BMW, the performance is a given, however one thing the Lambo has over the m6 is probably better quality material, slightly better handles, and exhaust note :D.
That said, I wouldn't mind having either!!
" This Gallardo is the 500 HP version and not the Gallardo SE. The BMW M6 is totally standard with less than 10 000 km on the odometer."
dont know why u guys saying its fake as i have a e39 m5 and raced a Gallardo which had been tuned up and i kept up with it. BMW's ARE UNDER RATED BIG TIME
So it depends on the whether which car got their most power at what rpm
@italforza skoda is from the tchech republic and also belongs to VW :D:D thank u
@NekrosProjekt it is based in Italy, but unfortunately, it belongs to (maybe) the most conservative companies now-audi.
even the engine is not Italian, it is based on the 4.2L V8 from Audi, modified to a V10
it is sad to say but i think lambo has lost its lunacy we all loved
the lambo is.. hey a lambo. but a M class bmw of any series is a damn good machine
the gallardo is for prestige it wasnt made 2 be extremely fast in a straight line it was made for people that are living the good life and just want to cruise in a sexy, easy to drive machine
@Wasakracker155 Where did you get that? I'm im my 20s and I'd kill for a BMW.
the Gallardo is much faster around a track and everybody knows that but its actually quite amazing that an M6 could beat it in a drag race
