I'd learnt the course before i was 10 ... having grown up with my father a competitor there in the 60's and 70's

Excellent technically and being without the distractions of rider's voices, allows you to concentrate on those sections you want to learn a bit better. You can hear the engine revs and gear changes a lot better without the commentaries, enjoyable as they are. Well done!

Massive credit to anyone getting to part 3 and still wanting to do a TT.

It’s really the most insane race in the world still. It’s crazy. I wouldn’t dare and I am licensed racecar driver in Germany.

Astonishing! Would've loved some racer's comments too, like road conditions, emotional stress of every part, strategies, how they set themselves up for the next part, bike behavior and so on.

i think there is a video somewhere on youtube with Milky Quayle going thru the full lap from an onboard video....

There are numerous videos with bend by bend descriptions. Cameron, Donald, Bruce Anstey, John McGuinness, John Barton with Milky Quayle are all on Duke videos or UA-cam. David Jefferies on Duke video is an oldie but goodie. There are several other Duke videos from 2000 to 2006 I have including Shaun Harris, Iain Duffus, Nigel Davies and Jim Moodie. A classic commentated lap is the V4 Victory video with Joey Dunlop. This is a very interesting video but it probably has little relevance to the current racing as speeds are much higher. The last Duke video I have with on-board commentary cost just a few dollars to download. I think most riders have a library of on-board commentated videos to use in conjunction with lapping in cars and on bikes. It takes several years to learn the track at speed. The quickest riders are over 30 because a degree of maturity, restraint and judgement are required to go very fast rather than just mindless bravado.

Makes the Nordschleife look like a karting circuit

Two different tracks. Nordschleife is a lot of corners with a few straights. IOM is a lot of straights with a few corners.

Do any animals ever get on the track? Must be impossible to stop cats and deer and rabbits from wandering out into the path of a 180mph bike!

The issue of escaped wallabies from the wildlife park on the road at Quarry Bends has been raised. Hitting a bird at those speeds would be bad enough let alone a medium sized marsupial.

Doesn't look too scary/hard. Said no one ever.
