Parallelism is similarity of grammatical form for similar elements of meaning within sentence or among sentences. For example easy come , easy gone . Parallelism in stylistic is literary device in which parts of sentences are grammatically they are similar in construction. Parallelism form of verb occurs when compound verbs express action taking place at same time or in same tense . Such ad verb must be in same time or same tense . When Gail sings and dances ( sings and dances are parallel forms of verb ) . Best example of parallelism mud covered his hands . It’s covered his face , it’s covered his jeans . Parallel structure not only adds balance and creates impactful words , but also improved coherence and consistency while writing. There are two types of parallelism lexical and phonological parallelism. Thank you for your wonderful literary educational channel.

Indeed it is! We're thinking that is a paraprosdokian--one of the funniest rhetorical devices.

Hi. I'd like to ask if it is also possible to put the preposition "to" before each verb enumerated in the sentence as in "She likes to hike, to dance, and to swim."
