I think HKS is making a supercharger kit, and Greddy is making a turbo kit. There will definitely be more, I’m just super excited to see these two in particular. Especially HKS, they’re legends in the tuner scene.

@@polloi84 It is true in the case of these cars. Problem is boxsters width, Subaru's solution is just to mount the turbo under the engine, but that doesn't work here. They have the engine mounted on level with the floor to get that low COG. So you're options are to fit something small in the front, or get a supercharger that bolts onto the engine like a twin-screw.

With a beefy radiator, heat shield/blanket on a turbo just big enough to get around 300whp would be perfect IMO. Maybe get 330 on E85 with massive torque bump.

HKS already has a centrifugal blower made for the gen 2’s. Plan on getting one once my warranty is up, but looks pretty much like you say. Pretty simple setup actually

There's only a ton of space with how low it sits. My 2019 Forester was the best engine bay to put a supercharger, nothing but space to work with up top.
I imagine with the way this thing revs that you don’t need more than 300. I own a 22 BRZ and it rips, it won’t win against a V8 but extend the gears a little with more power and it will probably murder some STi’’s, ST’s and GTi’s.

Who would even consider getting rid of factory fans? Especially when its totally possible to keep them with a correctly designed turbo kit. There’s no aftermarket fan option that will have near as good of fitment function or reliability.
I had to go with slim fans as my turbo is too big to fit factory and even then it's been melting them even with my turbo blanket and ceramic coating and heat wrap

Gr86 and brz are the same thing, but idk about the engine to well, would I be able to put a supercharger / or turbo on it aswell without needing to do anything to the block?
This engine is new to the platform and, outside of the WRX, has never had a turbo bolted to it. We will have to wait a little longer to find out what the stock internals can handle after throwing some boost at it!
I am in orlando fla and we have TONS of brz/frs/86's ..... these today are like the Honda Civic's of the 90's and early 2000's because the civic's although are still around, you dont see as many as you see these 86's .... And we actually have more Gen coupe's than civic's ...
This is the new 2.4 so it got a decent little power bump and a good amount more tq. It's also a much better car to drive than the genesis and built much better. Neither car is about straight line speed so it's a silly comparison.
@@alecguerrero9511 it's not a car you buy for roll racing though it never was. The chassis and suspension is what you are paying for. The 3.7 isn't a paltform you buy for straightline power either. A gti with a tune will gap it from a roll. Brz is for Twisties and driving 10/10. Straight line shit gets boring on the stree and you always end up chasing more power and breaking stuff especially in a manual car. Been there done that. Most fun car I ever had was my fiesta st at the 300whp mark. As soon as I pushed it towards the 400whp mark it could never hook and blew up.

HKS has a bolt on turbo kit as well. We saw it and spoke with them on it out at SEMA last year!

Now, put a big turbo, and add a Harrop or Cosworth supercharger in a compound boost setup.
The work shown is great. Although barely understandable. Whoever did the sound mix had no idea what they were doing.

This was a test fit, but you're correct. The factory ECU has not been cracked yet.

There is currently no way to run the car with the turbo kit installed... Until then at the very least!

yes they do I have a 11 genesis coupe r-spec. But my car new was 27k. The brz is 28k for the price you are getting a slower car.
