- On this video I'll explain what changes I did to the "regular" buckhead Chibson guitar you can find on AliExpress.

I got mine and ill put it up against anything at GC or Sam ass. $280 shipped w HSC, everything functions perfectly and ive been shredding all over it through 3 different amps for over a month now.

I do not know if I have ever even heard Buckethead play, but I love the look of the guitar. Good job on the "logo" on headstock. I prefer Jack over fake Gibson logo all day long.
I would recommend you give buckethead a listen. If you like guitar even just a little, this guy will show you stuff you ve never heard before. Some songs to start considering he has over 500 albums,

I've been considering getting a custom made Buckethead guitar. Bad Cat Instruments out of Northern China may be a good choice. They offer 14 days for full refund on returns and a two year warranty. And there's a couple review videos on youtube by happy customers.
I didn't know abou them and I just saw their website. Have you played on one of their instruments? They are more expensive than at AliExpress and you get a lot of buyer protection buying from AE.

Regarding your Buckethead clone, the pickups and hardware were not gibson, and the fretboard is not richlite. And I'm sure the chambering of the body is not the same as the original, but is the body an oversized LP standard?
I don't know about the chambering. You're correct about the rest. Also, I only found a couple of videos about Bad Cat, I like what I see tho, but I don't like the idea of not having a safe wall like AliExpress in case something goes wrong.
I looked at the few sellers offering a "buckethead" on aliexpress and the guitars are not even 27" scale. I believe you requested and received 27" scale, but it should be a default spec of their version. Otherwise, anyone buying their "buckethead" is getting it for looks and kill switches. (I could add a kill switch to any of my guitars.) I'm interested in an authentic buckethead for the unique playing experience, but I cannot afford one and willing to compromise somethings. Things like the pickups (temporarily), the hardware, the finish process, and the chambering. I don't expect the sellers to know the special finish process or the special chambering used by Gibson on the buckethead. However, an oversized body and the correct scale length is possible.

how much did it cost all together with shipping? stock
zagrix stock was around $270 and with the upgrades o wanted it ended up being $308. That was in September 2016. If you look at AliExpress and search for Buckethead find the CBD music seller. That's the one I purchased from.

He said it was 27 inch scale, that's considered baritone. The original Gibson BH guitars were the same but the body was slightly larger too. Trogleys Guitar Show reviewed one.
Can you briefly describe all the changes you requested? And all the problems? I'm thinking about buying this guitar as well, but I want the best "bang for my buck" if you will. Do you consider this purchase worth it?
Also, I failed to catch who the dealer was, I see like 4 different brands that sell the guitar on AliExpress, just wanna know which one it is that you bought from.

I ordered a custom chibson from the same seller some months ago but i haven't received it yet.I 'm curious about the wood they use, they claim to be using mahogany.Do you have any idea what kind of wood they used for your guitar?
Zoso Crowley its always maple or mahogany. depends on the seller I've bought 5 chibsons
It does look like mahogany. I heard once the they get some kind of Mahagony from the Philippines or some place like that.

Do the kill switchs work?
oh yeah ... very well. I turned the bottom one off because I don' t use it very often and my kids like to press it when I'm practicing. hahaha
The problem isn't that the kill switches are to big on the other models, but that the guitar body is too small (standard LP size) , -> Buckethead has a bigger body on his Les Paul. (you can see this very good on different comparison videos of Bucketheads LP vs a standard LP)
Most sellers are putting standard sized arcade buttons in there Buckethead copy.(only a few do see how rediculous this looks, and manage to get smaller Kill Switches, to fit the standard LP from factor)
It's interesting that you're is a curved top... All the Buckethead Chi sons I can find now on AliExpress are flat tops.

Carlo De la Vera it’s still based off of Gibson design though since the guitar is simulating a custom for the artist Buckethead who is endorsed by the company
Does your guitar have an oversized body? If not that's why maybe the pickups were not spaced properly
It doesn't I'm currently working with the seller to see if we can make one with an oversized body. That is part of problem but they could have drilled the hole for the pickups on the correct place. I think they were lazy or didn't know about that.
I think the pickups are in teh right place its the bridge that prob got to be moved up , but it doesnt matter because bucket head chnages his guitars to what he likes

Brasileiro é uma vergonha mesmo. Lucas, eu estava olhando os seus videos onde voce toca de mais e fala de menos, bacana. Gostei de ver que a maioria deles tem 2 likes (acho que um seu e outro da mamãe, que é quem deve ter te dado a sua guitarra de presente porque voce arrumou o quarto). Mas, estou aberto a dicas querido brasileiro critico. Me dá umas dicas aí de como fazer melhor. Outra coisa parceiro, é "sobrancelha" com "C" e não com "S". Acho que voce anda ficando mais tempo na internet passando vergonha com os seus comentários do que na escola.

Guy buys a fake Gibson from China and moans about it as if it's a Gibson custom shop. Dude you just bought basically an illegal guitar for a couple of hundred bucks and do nothing but moan about it. If you want a good Buckethead guitar go and pay $4,000 for a real one

Thank you for the comment but you're missing the point. I am not complaining, this is a review video and it's only fair that I show what i think it's positive and what I think it's negative. All those points are considering the price tag of an original.
Just so you know guy. Bucketheads gibson is $4500 and also hasn't been produced for the public since 2011
Oh come on stingray don’t be an ass he requested certain things and had some delays anyone would be a bit annoyed by that but the guys just reviewing it and giving opinion on what he likes and what he doesn’t about the guitar...plus buckethead doesn’t care about money he’s in it for the music alone. I’m sure he’d be happy knowing someone was a big enough fan to even buy a guitar that looks like his regardless of price and whether he got a cut for it or not
