I respect everyone's opinion of the death penalty. I truly believe that Ted Bundy had to go. He was an extremely dangerous man. I have no clue as to what would cause someone to be like that but he had to go. He escaped two times and continued killing. If he escaped again he would have picked up where he left off. We don't need him.

Honestly, I agree. Especially that fact that he killed his last victim, Kimberly Leach. He killed a child. That alone makes him such a horrible person. That's why I think he deserves to die in the electric chair.

Liz clearly has an attachment to Ted, even after over 30 years have passed since his execution. I don't think any of us can truly comprehend the mixed emotions she must be dealing with right now. Here was someone she loved and trusted for many years in a close relationship that she had to report to the police when the description of Ted and his car matched what she knew of him, that took a lot of courage on her part. She distanced herself from Ted during his incarcerations and escapes but he maintained that narcissistic control over her with those prison letters to the very end, then she was saddened by his execution although in reality Ted did nothing more than use her. Such a sad story from start to finish.

Sadly she was very co-dependent a and alot like Carol Boone. Ted looked for women who took on “projects” to fix and had low self esteem. He was truly manipulative.

Liz, Carole Ann Boone and "Molly" and Rosa were all innocent. Liz and Carole Ann held on to that glimmer of hope that he was innocent... Until he confessed. Liz actually felt guilty for turning him in, until he confessed. Carole genuinely thought he was innocent. Carole Ann divorced him with a quickness and stopped bringing Rosa around to visit him. Those two changed their names and laid low. Carole Ann passed away in a nursing home in 2018 and it's rumored that Rosa is living in England under a different name. According to Ann Rule _(who is now also deceased but worked with Bundy and was his friend for 10 years),_ she heard that Rosa grew up to be a kind, caring young woman.

As long as Bundy lived, he was a danger. He'd already successfully once, and we all know how that turned out. The last he murdered (that we know about) was a 12 yr old little girl. And when he was jailed for the last 3, they caught him trying to escape at least once. And, yes I have issues with the death penalty.

  • @Romulan2469

Strange as it may seem, and I feel weird saying this but, I get the feeling that Liz and Molly are taking this harder than the victims families. It seems like they are finding it harder to move on with their lives, probably because they closely connected to Ted for many years as with Rich and it's harder to pick up the pieces after such a traumatic life situation. I do hope that they can all move on at some point and leave the past, as painful as it might be, in the past. Ted is gone forever, and that is justice enough.

    • @dora1980

I don't know what you mean by "move on" but these women did move on with their lives. Liz got married for the 2nd time while Bundy was on death row. Molly from an early age seemed more mature than her mom. She seems very normal to me.

I have never seen this much pure and authentic humanity and forgiveness. YES, OF COURSE, there have been and always will be many people who choose forgiveness over revenge or peace over grudge but they are so great to CHOOSE this act of humanity but, in this case, the mother and the sister, of the victim grieve for the murderer of their beloved victim as much as they grieve over her ! They haven’t chosen this manner, THEY ARE THIS MUCH HUMAN. Omg, omg, the mother even says the murderer’s mother doesn’t have to apologize for her son’s behavior!!!!!!!!!
I think this mother and sister, and Ted Bundy could be a good example for showing the potential of divinity and evilness in human being at their ultimate extent!

The Rancourt family did not deserve such a tragedy at all… and it’s a shame how Bundy’s family felt like they were responsible. Ted’s mother did lie to him about who his real parents were, and I’m sure that it had a huge part in how things turned out. But in the end, she was also a mother losing her child. I was always disgusted by the “circus” that happened outside, just disgusting to promote death of any kind, no matter who it was. We are all human beings that want and do certain things. Those things can be minor, and some are extreme. Ted was sick, and he knew it himself when he called Liz from prison. He was for sure a danger to society. It’s just not fair to treat people like lambs to the slaughter while on death row. I hope all of the victims are now resting easy

      Likewise
Out of our suffering we have to unknowingly and or unable to do different gave caused suffering to others
I've heard it said we are all victims hurting other victims
      Compassion is the answer and

Most men would not feel the same as the women in this, men are supposed to protect so it’s only natural Mr. Rancourt felt the way he did.
To women he was a scary monster,to men he was a coward praying on physically weaker women,so a good man would have seen bundy as a coward and not feared him at All.I’m guessing killing men would be a different story which is why bundy went after women ,to weak as a man to fight men.

I have a copy from the Seattle police dept archives online. Back then cops didn’t take abductions, missing kids and rapes seriously. Their first reaction, she ran away. That’s why John Wayne Gacy and Dahmer got away with it so long. Same with Gary Ridgway and Hillside Strangkers. if you were raped, they’d say you enticed the guy with the clothes you were wearing or you were drunk. People didn’t report things either because back then it’s none of their business. Took over 20yrs later before we had the amber alert.

Yes. One of the best docs ever made. Focuses more on the victims. It’s a 5 part doc. Lynda Healy’s sister is in it. Georgann Hawkins friend who Ted almost abducted 3 weeks earlier. Ted confesses about it to one of the detectives on the Bundy tapes. He doesn’t mention her name or didn’t know it. No. Video and audio are not allowed. That’s why they have witnesses. But I was surprised to hear an audio in 2015 of Kelly Gissendaner apologizing to her husbands family and friends. She had her husband killed in the 1990s. Usually witnesses read the last statement after the execution. But I think she got a stay and was executed on another day. This was in Georgia.

@@caroldaronch1974 It's always been something I have never fully understood. They really should record all executions as a matter of record and keep those videos sealed and out of the public eye. In serious cases like for Bundy or Gacy I think the video should be released to the families of the victims under a NDA agreement so they can have the closure that the justice of the court has been carried out and their loved ones murderer has been punished. It's good that as a minimum they did record Kelly Gissendaner's last words, especially if those words were an apology to the victims families. It's all about helping them to grieve and get the justice they seek.

@@Mytube777 I don’t believe everything I see and read. For all we know there could be a hidden camera and they’ve been recording for decades but were never made public. They do offer a sedative to the inmate a few hours before execution. It’s up to the inmate if they want to take it or not. Decades before Ted was executed in Florida, the superintendent or warden would have a last drink with the inmate. But the public and media made a big deal. This was actually asked in the video with the press and prison official the day before Bundy wax executed. Also one of the witnesses was asked if he thought Bundy took it and he said if Ted did it couldn’t have been too strong. Most states offer a Valium or sedative. So I believe lots of things go on us little people will never know.

@@caroldaronch1974 I agree. Who knows what is really going on behind the scenes without our knowledge. The main problem is that the death penalty is highly controversial, a lot of people don't support it and also a lot do, so I think they have decided to only share with us, the public, the most obvious of details but not the behind the scenes stuff to not give the anti death penalty advocates more reasons to oppose it in the years to come. I really wish they would be more open about it, it's not like it's Area 51 lol! Setting aside the crazies outside Starke celebrating Bundy's death like it was the 4th July, most of us folks see it without the fanfare as justice being correctly served in accordance to the sentence from the court, and I for one am very happy that Bundy was executed.

I wonder why no one cares about the never healed wounds in the guy himself which made him to just react in such a horrific uncontrollable way! The guy was sick. Sounds like everyone have forgot sickness means pain. The worse your pain is the worse you react. The worse you scream. The less you feel what's happening around you. You completely miss others who are there can feel any pain. The worst pains, the pains that are mental not physical and no hope is there and the hope is the wounded itself and there's no known way for getting rid of it...of course the guy couldn't feel others pain much. When your so sick and so in pain yourself no way you feel any other person as deep anymore. When your mind is so wounded like that...when he was like a little tree who had been shaped by a bigger force in that weak and vulnerable time and then left alone to grow in that painful shape and get bigger and more annoying in the other trees way, he's been through far worse pain than any of the poor victims. a normal and healthy person can never go through the pain coming after only one murder. And here the guy didn't even feel their pain at all. Can't imagine how messed up he was. Can't imagine how much pain could get inside this only one guy. It wasn't is fault and then everyone could feel completely the hatred they wanted to give him. Dumb society cheering for kind of person who's just so deeply wounded who can't feel anymore correctly and is so very sick, becoming executed and compare it to the deaths of the victims. He was in cold blood but what others? That's more scary. And then look at Liz? She sounded sad for the cheerings. Breaking her heart doesn't matter too. It's just a game for people. Society builds a monster from pain who not even belongs to himself and has gone completely out of control of his conscience and then put him to his death while cheering for what he can't be deeply and truly responsible for.
