Making a character heavily reliant on his resource while making his resource regen just overall one of the slowest in the game with no way to get back that resource makes absolutely no sense. Been sticking it out w sin since release n it’s just crazy that sin held the record for most useless moves on release jd, still growing n his back dash n fs n its so obvious what they should buff or change but they just ignore it it pisses me off. I’m convinced they think sin mains are as stupid as their character n just don’t listen at all.
I totally agree with you. All the nerfs and the only tradeoff is guard crush on moves that i don't even use when my opponent is blocking because then i won't be able to combo them? the damages buffs and new combo routes are nice but they don't compensate for the horrible stamina nerfs that punishes me for having good pressure. They also made Kara super unoptimal to use and it's so painful because it was one of the thing that looked the coolest with Sin.
To be honest, I think he needed this rework. Now Stamina is more important than ever, and spending it on follow-ups grants you some BIG advantage. Now Sin mains have to actually manage his resource, which emphasizes him as a character more. Also I think he is actually buffed, his combos do A LOT more damage, and with a little risc he can often one-shot opponent. Maybe his normals are slower, but he can basically break the wall with any starter, even max range f.S. I agree, Still Growing also needs a rework, the only use it has, it's c.S meaty setup after a throw in corner. Maybe after some time we all will get used to new Sin, imo this is the best time to pick him, I would even consider putting him in top 8, or even top 6.
i just dont really see it that way. the only good advantage i see from the follow ups are combos and thats really it. using a follow up for guard crash and gazelle step afterwards is already 2 bars gone and then continuing the pressure will just slow down stamina time even more. even if you try to one shot if it dont kill its most likely minus 3 stamina right there. the damage is nice but after that burst the gameplan to get stamina back is to sit back and do literally, nothing. thats the fastest way to get stamina back. im happy ur having fun with the rework at least 🥲
They didn't make it that much better or have more advantage, all they did was make stamina really bad so it contrasts with the slight buffs to give the illusion that his specials are stronger.
So from what I've seen, most people, including Sin players think he's buffed overall. He's definitely different, and not having an active way to influence stamina does suck, because it does encourage passivity if you want more, which feels like the opposite of both Sin's playstyle and himself as a character. BUT, I think Arcsys might have cooked more than initial impressions would seem. I think they have made his resource management more interesting by making tension much more important now since stamina is harder to come by, and by making kara super not always the obvious choice. I think both stamina and tension are now supposed to be used in tandem to extend when the other is lacking, and while kara super getting nerfed does suck, it makes it so that it's one of many decisions to make now, and not just the obvious choice in most situations. I think the changes and the patch are gonna be some real growing pains, but they had some good ideas and I think Sin might end up being one of them.
i think just imo the resource management is just boring the way they made it and it stops his playstyle like you said. i just wish there was more depth in getting the stamina like xrd with the food. i will admit the more i play the more its somewhat growing on me with how he is right now but again i feel like if Still Growing gave you stamina instead of it regenning it would make the best outta both worlds. but right now for me he just feels meh. i 100% see where you’re getting at tho
@jikogyaku I feel you and I agree. Before Still Growing was definitely a cute little reference and joke move and we don't get enough of those, but now with these changes I think it giving Stamina is valid. If they don't want to give you a full bar, fuck it give half, or increase the speed of regeneration or turn off the delay before it regens. Just something to make it a little more involved. Nago blood management is fun because of how interactive it is and all the decision making behind it because you can influence it so heavily. They should take notes.
Though i feel that sin is slightly stronger this patch, i feel the pain of getting your character rework after growin to love the prior one. It's a horrible feeling
@@H_Money_Official im still gonna play him but idk to me he just feels off. hes been a rushdown since xrd and playing so passive with the stamina feels so ehh.
I agree. Sin is my boy, been playing him since he came out. Design wise I actually like that you need to manage your stamina. The new follow ups are quite powerful. Even the slow stamina regen would be ok if they just add another way of getting stamina. I find it quite unfun that the only way to get stamina back is just waiting around. If they rework still growing to give one stamina bar Sin would be so much more fun to play. I mean you sacrifice damage and oki for one bar, i don't think that would be broken or anything. And if they insist that still growing needs to be trash then give him some stamina back when he brakes the wall or maybe when you do a clean hit with Tyrant Barrel or something like that. Doubt it would happen but one can dream.
I mean... I dont play a lot of Strive but I do feel you when they nerf your character xD for me this patch is the happiest because they released my waifu Dizzy xD
your regeneration coming back slower really feels like z a t o having Eddie come back so late. we really are the same except my character is still worse than yours
