Joe from Parabellum Fishing sent me this way. A couple nice spots you fished at and those Peacock Bass are very cool looking. New sub for you and look forward to watching more of your vids, Cheers!
Thanks! They are really awesome looking fish. Not the first time I've had one of those peacocks shake a treble hook into my hand. Been very lucky so far the barb hasn't gone in.
would love to catch me a peacock bass someday. don't have any of those up here up north. would love to get down to Florida and do some fishing in these spots.
I always think those peacock bass are very pretty and very strong 👍 Doc I don't know when but I definitely going to come down there someday to fish with you 🙂 the second one was running away peacock 🎣 your fingers was more important buddy 🍻 stay after theme and stay safe ⚓
interesting with the hump on the head. I always wondered why some had it and some didn't. Does it go away after they spawn? Pretty cool that u can catch Cichlids down there. Wish i could of gotten a better look at that 2nd one! Good stuff Doc!
Thanks Chris! Yes. The hump goes away after they spawn. The mayan cichlids are everywhere down here. As a matter of fact the peacocks are actually classified as cichlids. Wish I could've got a hold of the second one to show the camera. Wasn't sure how far the hook went in my hand, so that was top priority at that moment LOL!
I am coming down in July from Alabama. Can you point me in the right direction as far as location to get started? I have a kayak, but I see you are on the bank. Where would you suggest for kayaks targeting peacocks and snakeheads? Or, should we leave the kayaks at home?
do you guys catc peacock all around in Florida i will be donw in october novmber time and trying to gage if its possible to try then other than largemouth. - also are they within all pools or selected. little infor wouldnt go a miss. - other than than really enjoyed that bud. new sub from jersey uk :)
Thanks for checking out the channel. I really appreciate the follow! October and November can still be a good time to catch them. It will really depend on the amount of cold fronts we get, and how much the temperature will drop that time of year. If the fronts aren’t too strong and the water temperature doesn’t drop significantly you’ll still be able to find some and catch them. The further south you go the better chance you have to find them in multiple bodies of water. It’s hit or miss in northern Palm Beach County. From the Boynton area south to Miami you will find more of them in more bodies of water.
Those were some nice peacocks. It's unfortunate that the last one managed to hop away though 😅, it looked like a nice one. Glad you didn't get hurt with that hook, could have been worse. What type of fish was the bluish one? It put up a good fight. Great video Doc!
Thanks Henri! Glad the barb didn't go in. The blueish one was a Mayan Cichlid. Some people call them an atomic sunfish. They are aggressive and put up a good fight too.
@@CoastalFeverTV Yep, long zigzag runs. I've had several temensis in Brazil and Colombia snap fresh 50 pound braid with that sudden jerk they do, so much stronger than our ocellaris - but they're all a blast.
very lovely! love it keep sharing your great videos more power!!
Awesome fishing! So beautiful place! Thanks fro sharing! Have a great day my friend

Yeah man! They are by far one of my favorite fish to catch down here.

New spots no skunk definitely a win. Good fishing Doc
Definitely a win! Both spots have potential.
Trailer Park Boys gonna get you. I think I heard bubbles in the back ground
😂

@@CoastalFeverTV Awesome, I like the atomic sunfish nickname lol!
@@CoastalFeverTV Can you imagine a ten pound Mayan? They fight so much different from a pea.
@@DanTheFireman That would be one heck of a fight!

Almost got in ya the "hooked past the barb" club! LOL Not a bad showing for new spots. You never know if they'll produce.
Very true Joe on both counts. Glad the barb didn't go in. I think both spots will be good. Only had a few hours to fish em, but I like the potential.
@@CoastalFeverTV funny how your peacocks were so lively. I saw a video with the island boys, and theirs were pretty calm 😂
@@ParabellumFishing 🤣🤣🤣 Wonder why that was.
Were in west palm ? I here x vacation
Where did you go
No bobcats??? 😂
🤣 Nope. Just ferrell cats around those areas. LOL!
Great video Doc! I got to get your email
Thanks Ted! I just DM'd you my email on IG.
