You should compare old equipment to new equipment. Chain vs Wire vs belt etc. That would be nice, compare the differences and preferences.

I have always thought that the older typical Red, Blue and Yellow Panatta equipment felt better, the one made with rectangualar iron. Maybe not as much fancy stuff though. I think some where white too, maybe they are older.
Gym equipment has usally always felt better the older it is, like the modern types just do not hit any muscles at all, too much gearing, the seats are strange and ergonomic, benches are strange, cannot adjust it for the right angle etc.. I dont know man.. Maybe I am wrong..
It is strange how an incline bench, or even and lat pulldown machine can feel so different with just some small changes here and there.
I even prefer Panatta power racks to the Eleikos (of those I have used) So I feel it is not an "elitist" opinion if someone thinks that :D

the price of Iron per pound increased over the years (with the general inflation in mind too) so some companies try to make thiner frames... resulting in looking and feeling cheaper... but you are right... some machines who are older have a great feel to it.. one that comes in mind are some of the flex leverage series.... but alot of new stuff is amazing by atlantis, panatta, etc

What about rear delts on machine? Somedays I don't wanna stick my ass out for a whole exercise in the freeweights area doing rear dumbbell fly's. Especially if I ate something risky for lunch 😂
