For others in the industry, that’s a rabbit hole. She can’t leave. Why do people not understand a lot of these people won’t date outside the industry due to the dirt on there name. So she has a mentality. When you really think & live a certain way, you keep bringing the same people near you. Hers just never left.

I waited and waited hoping he would see that I was “Wifey Material” after many conversations with God and much meditation I realized straight up this man just isn’t for me and I am wasting my time. I know someone who was in a situationSHIP like this & tragedy ended up striking with the man dealing with medical issues. Anyway, doctors wanted to know who was the next of Kin..she told the docs that she was the girlfriend.. (keep in mind she was with him for 15 years). The docs told her that, by law, they can not consider boyfriend/girlfriend as next of kin. When they see that a person is not married & just dating, they look to the parents or siblings to tell what is going on with the loved one. He ended up passing away at the young age of 43. He had life insurance & all of it went to his two kids (from a previous relationship) & mother. He bought the girlfriend a house & a car but unfortunately that went to his kids & mother too because there were still notes due on the house & car AND her name was not on either item. So she had to leave everything, nothing to show for the 15 years she put in. I remember this couple always saying: “Oh marriage is just a piece of paper.” I’m pretty sure they would change their minds about that, if they could.

This is the classic case of settling. She wanted marriage but she knew she would never get it from him so she just settled. Then over time after financial issues due to him as well as issues with his mother, I think Chrissy realized he is not really husband material and didn’t want such a permanent tie such as marriage so she settled for not marrying BUT she is too comfortable and afraid of the unknown from starting over so she settles and does not leave.
When she do leave he follow her and propose to her all over again and again she say yes then he go back to his old ways that last time she had some since and said no but still stayed she past motherhood yrs playing with him smh

Marriage alone isn’t a prize at all, don’t get me wrong because there’s a lot of women who are married with single husbands. But at the end of the day, the wife still has final say-so over what happens if he gets hurt/dies/falls ill. Not a longtime girlfriend, not a mistress, the WIFE.
Self love is important. The fear of being alone imprisons many people. Marriage is also a business deal, that if made with the wrong person can be devastating.

Chrissy is such a naturally beautiful woman! I always felt like she deserved someone who'd be faithful to her.
I was once in this situation. I was with someone for 5 years and in the beginning, we would always discuss getting married. As the years went on, all of a sudden he didn't believe in marriage, and I stayed hoping he would change his mind back. I would watch shows like Say Yes to the Dress and Four Weddings, and having feelings of anger and resentment towards him thinking I would NEVER get married. I had to wake up and realize I was giving him too much power and being foolish for staying out of comfort and familiarity (although the relationship was toxic af). He was also ok with me bearing his children but not getting married which was another sign for me to leave. It's been almost 5 years and he still hits me up saying he messed up and I was supposed to be his wife. I hope Chrissy gets out of her own way and wakes up 🙏🏾❤️

Her partner passed and she found out that he was still legally married to a woman that he never divorced. He and his wife just separated in the 80s and never remarried anyone else, just dated other people. He met my aunt in 1996 and dated her up until 3 years ago. 23 YEARS......When he died, my aunt was FLOORED. His adult children moved her out of the house they shared for years because her name was nowhere on it. AND the adult kids mother whom was his LEGAL wife, took everything and draws his social security to this day!!! My aunt was so hurt and wasn't even invited to the funeral. Ladies, let this be a cautionary tale. Stop letting this men trick you into thinking marriage means Nothing. You'll be devastated in the end.

My sister was with her partner for 30+ years. They had 4 kids together. He wanted to get married, but she didn't. When he was diagnosed with Cancer, & passed away, my sister said, she should've married him.🙄.. Me on the other hand, I was with my kids father (& husband) for 5 years, before we got married. Because, I'm just not doing THAT!
My dad and his live in girlfriend were together for over 30 years and never got married. It worked for them but when it was time to pull the plug on his lifesupport machine she wasn't allowed to make the decision. Me being his only child had to make that call. That decision has haunted me for the past 6 years. Every time I see my father in my dreams he has the look of hate for me on his face.

I remember watching their reality show when I was a teenager & I felt like they definitely weren’t gonna get married at all .
She wasted her prime yrs waiting around for a Dusty. He never wanted to marry her, he just wanted to keep her hanging around while she got older. All of a sudden he’s “interested” in marriage. Now the ladies aren’t chasing him, career isn’t thriving and certain parts may not be working. Hopefully a few young ladies will learn from her mistakes.
So me and my man have been both been married twice and we will never marry. And that is ok with the both of us. Now I can say i am glad I had the experience of being married. I do believe that’s an experience I needed to have. Just never again💯

Chrissy is such a beautiful , articulate,but loyal to a fault . Jim is out of his glory days, yet he refuses to let that rapper lifestyle go. We all know the industry is smoke and mirrors. Marrying a rapper who be the ultimate status symbol for some women, but Chrissy saw them going nowhere and fast. And what would have really changed anyway except her stress levels. That had many of houses foreclosed on because Jim wasn’t paying the bills. She deserves soo much better, so good for her.
I’m glad that this is randomly being spoken about. If you actually go digging into Chrissy life. She has been gang affiliated back in NYC, linked to Jay Z. She ended up leaving NYC because she got caught up with some people. They found her, beat her and she ended up missing some teeth. She had goons of her own so they went after them. So what I’m trying to say… This rabbit hole is deeper. This isn’t about self-esteem. This is about somebody living two lives and understanding why some people really do not date outside of their industry because of the type of dirt that they have on their name and the person across from them in on the dirt as well. Some people are really here to mislead us. Ever heard of those women who are trafficked but end up with those top jobs because there master put them on? Some of the people on the screen have cover up jobs, to move things around for there masters.

Marriage would give Chrissy the authority to make life decisions for Jim. That’s probably why the mother is not stressed about the current status of Chrissy and Jim’s relationship.
I get that part too, but Chrissy seems like a very smart woman. You can put someone in ur will and make them ur beneficiary without marriage. I’m sure she’s taking care of business behind the scenes, at least I hope she is, I know I would‼️

Honestly, I think a lot of women say this out of fear. Disappointment and heartbreak will have you questioning if it’s even worth it. I was there too at one point in my life. I took some time away from men and relationships to focus on myself to figure out where I was going wrong. I remained celibate and watched my choices very carefully. I prayed for a husband that would be everything I needed. In 2010 I met my husband and we married a month after meeting (I don’t recommend this for everyone). I knew the day we met he was the one. We’ve been married almost 13 years and have 4 children with #5 due in April. It’s very possible sis. Don’t lose hope 🙏❤️
When Chrissy tried to leave Jim the last time on Love n Hip Hop, he seemed very angry and scary. He seems very abusive and aggressive behind closed doors. He was harassing her when she tried to leave him. I feel Chrissy would come up missing if she really left Jim and stayed gone.

There’s a discrepancy between her strong character and the fact she’s publicly humiliated by Jim since over a decade. She might have low self esteem issues she never adressed. Christie is a beautiful woman who could have moved on and find happiness years ago with a more mentally healthy man. She’s damaged and so is their relationship. Now in her 50s it looks like she settled cause she can’t find better. It’s a sad story.
I recall in one episode Mama Jones saying she resented Chrissie because she didn’t even give his son a child.

Marriage doesn’t damage relationships, the issue is lots of ppl get married with the hopes of fixing a failing relationship. If it’s strong before the marriage, it will be strong after. If it’s struggling before the marriage, it’s gonna struggle after the marriage. The status of marriage on a struggling marriage is added pressure because ppl think it’s gonna change something when it doesn’t.
