But when I gave him primary custody so I can get an apartment because I didn’t have family, he took me for child support and they took my stimulus, taxes + some of my unemployment and extra pandemic pay. I had the same happen to me. a "friend" was supposed to use my card to pay for my part of the rent. I just got in the hospital and didn't know if I was going to get out. Later that month I learned I wasn't likely ever to return home because of how sick I got. She gave me my card back and specifically said she only used it to pay my part of the rent. When I looked at my online statement, it was -500 in my account. Car payments (I don't drive), groceries, (I was in the hospital with a tube down my throat, so what was I "buying" at Krogers and Walmart?) and multiple payments to various restaurants. I don't think they ever felt they were in the wrong for getting me in debt.
