I love that it is a librarian who succeeds in hiding the best - I clearly need to read Going Zero. I am glad you are back safely from your trip to Nicaragua - I hope it went well.
Hi Krista - 😊 It is wonderful to see you again! Happy Belated Birthday! I hope you are able to celebrate You sometime this month! I thought of you with Jordan’s memorial service. I imagine it was very beautiful, but also quite emotional. I know that you were a blessing to those you spent time with in Nicaragua. I hope you are getting some rest, after all the traveling. I give you credit for dnf’ing the book, as I know that is difficult to do. Thank you for sharing your wholesome perspective on your reads. Take good care. 🦋📚
Independence is a wonderful book on many levels. I am pleased you read and reviewed this. You are the first one I’ve heard mention this author. She has many good choices.
I’m glad you are home safe and sound. Going Zero sounds very interesting, as does the book about the sisters in India. We have hit the time of year where many of my favorite series are releasing their next installment. They didn’t disappoint and were 5-star reads. There were two stand-alone books that absolutely blew my socks off: Jason Reynold’s Ain’t Burned All the Bright. It is about 2020 and is told in three sentences and some glorious artwork. I highly recommend it. Mary Robinette Kowal wrote Ghost Talkers. It takes place during WWI and teams of people who can talk to ghosts have the job of connecting with soldiers who die. During life they were trained to report into the Ghost Talkers and report on their own deaths before walking into the light. Excellent story.
I almost picked up 'The House of Tynford' to take with me to the lake this weekend 😐. Hope you had a wonderful birthday🎂, and that the memorial for Jordan went well.
Hi Krista! Going Zero and Independence sound very good! I loved Daddy long legs as a kid. There is a Fred Astaire movie although it doesn’t follow the book that much I don’t think it’s still a good movie. 😂 My little one likes to watch Fed Astaire. 😊I have about 5 books I need to get through and I probably should DNF one of them but I feel like I’m just not giving it a chance. I’m no longer the target audience and I was when I bought it (sad that’s how long it’s been on my shelves unread) … how was your trip? I’d love to hear how God worked! I’ve never been on a missions trip before so I’m very curious about it!
I love Daddy Long Legs! I think since I grew up with it, that helps with my love for the book. However, you did have a lot this month that could have impacted things. Hope that your time with family was healing and that your walk with the Lord was encouraged by your time in Nicaragua.
I didn’t care for Daddy Long Legs AT ALL. Near the end it felt creepy to me although that’s just a feeling not based on the author’s intent. Going Zero was one of my favorite books. Hope your mission trip was good.
Oh, I love Daddy Long Legs - but I read it first as a young girl and I think that makes a difference. Also, it doesn't translate very well into what would be appropriate today.
That is a whole other kind of “mood” reading…when your mood affects your ability to be able to enjoy what you are reading. I relate!
I really enjoyed Going Zero! I can’t wait to hear about your trip! Glad you are home safe!

Glad you made it back safely. Hope you had a great time in Nicaragua
Glad you liked Independence! You still read a lot in the second half! Also, thankful you had safe travels.

Welcome back Krista! Congrats on the team win for TAR! Can’t wait to hear about your trip! 💜
I didn't even realize we had won. WoohoO! haha.
@@BooksAndJams whoops..well surprise!😜🤣
Welcome home. Can't wait to hear about your trip. I'm so glad you liked Independence. It drew me right in and I loved it.

I would definitely be interested in reading more from her.

I totally agree with you on Lightfall. The third was just a filler book for the whole series.
Good to see you and looking forward to hearing about your trip.

I haven’t read any of those books. I am reading like crazy. Welcome home Krista! I want to hear about your trip.

When are you going to open your PANGO store?
After I'm done with all my summer travels, probably beginning of August.
Up for clean suspense? Try ‘I will find you’ by Coben. He’s such a good writer!
I haven't read anything by him yet, but do want to. Thank you for the rec.
@@BooksAndJams I also like No Second Chance and Tell No One.
