I'm a little disappointed that they don't give you access to airships in the early 20th century. They did have a time, even if we then figured out that you could do better, but it's my game damn it and I want skies full of airships!
You mentioned you were going to take care about your towns in terms of emissions (and that you'll increase maintenance for that). I think a good way to reduce emissions is also to reduce the number of vehicles by using ones with increased capacity, if available. Even though most vehicles seem to have around 70(ish) emissions, one carrying 26 essentially has just half the emissions (per passenger) of one carrying just 13. Don't mean to imply to not increase maintenance anyway, it's probably still quite beneficial and worth the (comparatively low) extra cost. Side note: game sounds are pretty loud this episode. Every time you set vehicles on a line there's a pretty loud PLING. For a random example check 26:12, or listen to the sweet sound of payback at 33:30 (and no, I didn't actually care if you pay the loan back or not).
I think another way to reduce the number of vehicles going through town would also be to let trucks bypass the town- New York here is a big example, the trucks have to go right through downtown to transport to the oil refinery.
I've noticed that Nashville asks for machines and it looks like you are producing much more than Saint Paul needs, so it would be profitable to add them to the existing cargo plane line. Keep up with the videos, discovered your channel recently and enjoying it a lot!
Could this be the thing that'd stimulate Stealth to build a railway between Nashville and NYC? Would make sense that the same compartiments can carry both...
Among a number of other things, I think that 1st person view from inside the airplane is really cool, that was a really neat perspective. Really enjoying the series. I was a big fan of Sim City and its successors and this brings back memories of games like that to a degree. Lastly, congrads again on the increasing subs too.
Industry now also "buys" rare goods now without demand. So you could just supply the tools factory with planks without an additional line for the tools and still make some cash. You dont need to complete the production line to the cities anymore. Thats why the tools factory started producing when they got the planks.
Has there been an update, some of the UI sounds were loud, one sounded like my phone when I get a text message. "beep". Hopefully they are on a separate volume control. However some of them sounded really good - radio chatter at the airport.
You can configure airports and change the direction planes land from, that could be useful for managing emissions and it'd fix the intersecting flight paths you have right now. I hope at some point they add a waypoint system for planes, It'd be nice to manage the airways to avoid overflying towns.
not sure if you realise, but when you remake the street between the farm in St. Paul, you make it a bit longer and the cargo pickups are NO LONGER conected with the farm! Check 6:20
Kinda wish there was a "finance" option on the purchase of vehicles. Instead of paying 20m up front for the 737, you could just pay 20% down and increase the upkeep cost to cover the rest over the life of the vehicle. AND there would be interest, so it would be cheaper to just buy it outright. Pro's and Con's to everything.
On the other hand there's literally no reason not to. It can be instantly taken again the second you need it and why pay interest if you could just not pay interest?
Feels like a more important stat for airplanes would be acceleration rather than top speed :) P.S: Should really ship back fuel so that you can supply Thornton with fuel and have cargo on the return route.
In which case he really should have picked the Canadair? I mean, it weighs a few tons more but it does have twice the thrust of the other planes, slightly more cargo space and a decent top speed. Regardless the values controlling acceleration feel less clear than they could be, which I guess is a holdover from the era when transport simulators mostly dealt with trains.
@@hegoyyoutubination but it's only a bottleneck due to the balance of trucks on iron vs. coal (and fuel should pay more I think, as it's a higher tier good). He can just fix the iron/coal balance by evening out the Rate on the line statistics (or even getting it right to or just above 400, cause that's what the mines can output). The Mines themselves produce equal amounts.
I think they need to punish not paying the loan. doesn't make sense to have a loan of 30 mil and not need to pay it off... Maybe like set a time limit and if not payed the the Money you own will grow...
That's how investment works in the real world as well though. You take a loan to start a business, cause that will (hopefully) make you more money over time than the loan costs in interest. Even if you do pay that off, companies regularly take on additional loans for expansion and such, which is the TpF (1 and 2) equivalent of not paying it back (or just taking it straight back out again) Also, any change they make will make the early game even harder (and it's the only really hard-ish part of the game currently I think). You can just pay it back if you want by stopping time when you're profitable 'enough'. It would still be better to use the earned money for reinvestment, as it is in the real world. If you want you can micromanage and pay it back while you're waiting for something, take it out again when you want to continue to build/expand.
@@TheCreat Yeah, still. As you said the start will be hard but after that you swill snowball hard. And I think that will be the main Issue of the Game if you don't have any hard time in mid/late Game this will get pretty boring after sometime. Thats at least what I think.
@@basha2520 Changing loans isn't going to make mid/late game hard. It's a small hurdle at best. Maybe they do need to do something about it, but loans isn't the way to do it.
Probably wouldn't be too hard for the Devs to add loan amortization--loan term is, say, 20 years so that principal is added to interest. Therefore, paying down principal early has an impact. The only question is---would the players really care?

No, not for the time being. The game is just repetitive for me now. I know they're implementing a new update soon, but unless that drastically changes gameplay I'm not doing another run.

Wow! Planes are enormously profitable (at least over a fairly long distance)! To set it all up is terribly expensive, but well worth it!
Loving the series. You made me buy this game!

Nashville Gnashers... best false teeth in the tropics 😉
Is there even a point of paying back the loan if the interest is that small?
Not really, hence my reluctance to. It's not like it has a due date
On the other hand there's literally no reason not to. It can be instantly taken again the second you need it and why pay interest if you could just not pay interest?
Now you have been enlightened. This is how rich people live😂

Well, the stat itself is there. It's the "thrust" right below the speed in the stats window.

I think it would make more sence if the planes shipped back coal instead of fuel since it is a bottleneck for the metal supply in Saint Paul

You cut off St Pauls grain supply
Vanha21 He did?
It looks like a grain farm has no connection with the truck stop since there is no cargo on it.
