Hey there JS! Thank you so much for your kind comment 🙂🙂 Yes, even when we had Tucana we were always careful and conscious of the risks of leaving her unattended! And yes, plenty of people interested actually! We’ve even invited a few curious punters on board! Coming up in a couple of episodes time, you’ll see, we notice a bunch of blokes on a tender wizzing around a few times, they were boaties from South America and had recently sailed to Antarctica! We end up inviting them onboard and salsa dance at the stern! Can’t wait to share that moment with y’all soon 😅🤗
That's a very clever move swimming a 5km away from shore and beating a 40mims round tour is just like playing a survivor game in TV shows😮 while enjoying food and quick tour at the same time, well you are qualified couple to compete in a game🤔🙄👍👍though it takes a little risk to pass that waves but it is adventure and the place is very inviting i think i might swim too if only i was there, oh i think you should bring James B to assist both of you next time well he does a lot sophisticated gadget,..

I was at Menorca when the crazy storm hit, but I was in a Villa. Can't imagine what it would've been like on a boat, I would've been scared out of my mind
Greetings from Croatia, your channel is excellent and keep it up. I have only one question, if you can tell me exactly where that villa is located, in which bay with a swimming pool and tennis court?
Nice video! By the way, the name of Sóller has nothing to do with "sun", it comes from the Arabic name "Suliar" (which means Valley of gold, referring to the valley of orange trees that thrived on the island) with which the Moorish pirates named the port during the incursions they made back in the 1500's.
Just discovered this channel, what an awesome journey guys! Bucketlist material! 👌🏼 One question though. How on earth did you manage to get to sail this 55 beauty around the Med? For free? For exposure? Love to know more. All the best, fair winds, from a Dutch fellow sailor 🙏🏼
Soller has nothing to do with sun (sol), it means something like gold shell in arab when Mallorca was muslim 8 centuries ago. Enjoy Mallorca and take care for posidonia prairies while anchoring. Buena proa (have a good navigation?)
That’s a very good question William. Although I’m sure there are some sailors who have spent long enough at sea who would profess to being able to asses the sanity of such things as a beach, as well as other inanimate objects, we make no such claims. Rather, we are referring to the informal definition of the world as described by Oxford dictionary as being “shocking; outrageous”. 😉 JT
John, bro, 🤌 is italian, not spanish 😀 in Mallorca they speak catalan so not sure it applies to their words, but in spanish double l like in Soller is pronounced as like 80% the start of the word You and 20% the start of the word Just, so it's mostly a "y" sound but a bit grungier 😀 and they don't pronounce h at all (like hombre is basically ombre), and they pronounce j letter as h (like in the word "h"ow). That's the language lesson from profesor Daniel for today 😀 As a cultural thing: try to eat in restaurants where they don't speak english, those will be more local places (although it might be hard in Mallorca, in Valencia it's basically 70% of the restaurants 😂). And be aware of spanish sailors...they might be "yo no soy marinero, soy capitan" (I'm not sailor, I'm captain) as the song La Bamba says, but if they travel on water like they walk, it's dangerous (they don't have much spatial recognition and like to look back while walking forward and things like that 😀🤦♂️). We'll go to Mallorca in a month so I'll be enjoying these videos 🙂 have a nice trip, nice weather and good time!
😂 yes of course 🤌🏻 probably should have elaborated, I was referring to the visiting Italian cruisers across the anchorage in Soller that were unfortunate enough to end up in a tangle of anchor chains, and boats bumping together as the storm went over. Thanks for the tips, it was quite touristy there I think all were speaking pretty good English, but we have found the same, the restaurants that are for tourists are sometimes seasonal and not so good. Hope you enjoy Mallorca! 😀
