If you recall, when Warner Bros. released Wonder Woman 1984, they went back and negotiated payment for the actors and the director to accommodate for the revenue they would have lost by the rapid release to streaming. This is no different, except that Disney apparently forgot that the talent has representation too.
I don’t even think the lawsuit is totally about the money. It’s the fact that if Disney could do that to one of the biggest stars in the world then they’re definitely doing it with the smaller stars who don’t have as much clout in the acting world, who probably can’t speak up about it because it would ruin their careers.
Yelena was awesome. It was heartbreaking when Natasha and Yelena were saying bye to each other cuz that was probably the last time they saw each other 😭

They didn't negotiate with her. They released the streaming at the same time as box office. It depressed box office revenue (it was diverted to streaming) and there was no sharing agreement on the Disney streaming. Scarlett was correct, they took money out her pocket and tried to make it like she wasn't grateful for the amount they gave her (she should have received more and they thought people were going to be on their side because she was paid 20 million).
I'm sure you already noticed, but the subtext is all about how the world treats women like a consumable resource without agency.

If it wasn't for Kevin Feige this movie wouldn't have happened at all. If it was still up to Ike Perlmutter there wouldn't have been a Black Panther, Captain Marvel or Shang Chi either

I'm sure you know the drama behind why it took so long to get this movie. Like most such things, it goes back to that idiot toy executive who bailed Marvel out: Pearlmutter.
This movie would have been perfect if it came out after Civil War.
If it came out after Civil War it would've been a different movie, it was a different time, and that would've probably meant we wouldn't had some parts of the movie that a lot of people enjoy, but that's my opinion

Mark 29:55. In older movies, they did strip their victims of everything, leaving bits of strategically placed cloth strips or other objects, over the sexy parts, except in movies with a higher rating, when nudity is allowed.
Such a scene in this movie would be a distraction I guess. 🤔

Now, did Hawkeye bring her body home or not? Why would he leave by it behind? I ask, because elsewhere some other guy posted that he thought that her mother's grave had a body with no name on it, while hers has a name, but no body.
She did not impact onto, Gamora, who also did not impact on anyone. So someone has been doing body recovery detail all of this time. 🤔

I liked the movie & I think Disney should do right by Scarlett. I agreed with all your comments.
Mark 32:27. Also, hitting a guy's face with your crotch is a big distraction! 😉 Over at, "DC", the big bust of, Power Girl, distracted a lot of guys. In one issue, two guys realized at the last moment that her bust was about to knock them over as she flew over them. They didn't have time to know how they felt about it. She apologized later, as it wasn't her intention. 😄
Mark 29:03. Note that this means that each actress played two roles in this movie! The character and the disguise.
Mark 40:44. Hmm. Sex appeal is a factor that helps, for me anyway. But my favorite hairstyle of hers was early on, and after the one that she got for, "Lucy", influenced how her hairstyles looked from then on, as her hair had to grow back out to the luscious locks that she once had, made her less appealing visually. She finally got blonde hair, but the style still was too much like Lucy's. Sigh.

Loved it, except for the third act. It really fell down there and became bit of a big "buildings fallling out of the sky" ending. I feel like the Cap films (and even Guardians and Dr Strange) started to deliver something more personal than that even by TWS and CW. I felt like the first two thirds were better and really got me excited only for it to turn into the usual set piece ending. It could just be that it suffered from TWS and GotG2 basically beating them to the punch, so that any other endings felt like rerun but what we got just felt unremarkable. (It still felt like a letdown after the earlier parts of the film - with the dysfunctional fake family - were so amazing.) They could have even have Natasha die and Yelena resusitate her. Then the ultimate ending would have been even more tragic.
The daughter reveal was, unfortunately, predictable, and too obviously telescoped.
Also on the con side: it felt like the PoC were nothing more just cannon-fodder/window-dressing/support systems in this, and I've seen enough of that. I started to wonder why they bothered. WoC being disposable resources as the moral of the story wasn't enough of a reason for me. I know other people won't get this and will just say that was the point the film was making. Like I said, just seeing them flash up the screen at the end would have been enough. Having at least three WoC graphically killed in a film where the white characters are yet again "the important ones" TM could have been put to far stage left for me. That's the worst kind of diversity casting. Just don't bother then.
We 💯 agree about the people and esp women of color. It's sadly part of many of the offerings in this genre and doesn't appear to be going away any time soon.
@@kendraswatchlist It does seem to pop up a bit too often in white "feminist" offerings, though. I keep wondering at which point they're going to realise what they're perpetuating and stop; in a lot of cases they're worse than the white male bro writers they frequently complain about. WandaVision had elements of this, and so did Captain Marvel.
It remains to be seen if the WoC writer-directors (Eternals and Captain Marvel 2) will do better. I'd like to hope they will but it's not a certainty that they will either.
Otherwise it's Wakanda or bust. (The women writing for FatWS weren't bad either.)
Sadly we dont have faith- we believe a lot of noise will need to be made and if it took them this long to do right by their top white female star (regardless of their forward thinking on BP or FAWS etc.), old tried and true Hollywood habits are still so baked in to the system that we think we're going to continue to see white heroes destroying lands full of brown people and continue to see black and brown women disposed of as throw away characters without much thought for a while yet. Change is never a rushing tide, it's always a painfully slow drip.

There is an argument to be made, that this is the best stand-alone MCU film, I am the one to make it, this film was straight fire, everyone brought their A-game to this.
I want more of everyone.!!!!! Scarjo, went out of the MCU like a straight pimp, I forgive them for their treatment of her in "Endgame". Now, give her, her money.
I dont forgiven them , they should have a scene for her funeral, The same people that is paying their respect to Tony, because BOTH die, without them THEY WOULDNT HAVE WON, BOTH GIVE THEIR LIFE FOR THE OTHERS

Her death got an infinity stone, that knowledge can never given out.
