I think you resumed it right in just a few words Mark. To be in the moment, to be one with your surrounding. These type of rides teach us so much about ourselves that you can't put a price on that. It is nice to ride with others but it's when going the distance solo that one realize that what felt boring at first end up being moments to cherish for a lifetime. I road solo most of last season and although I wished for company at times, I never felt alone taking in the beauty of my surroundings. The weird thing is that I only realized after a few rides with my camera how much one can focus on certain things and images on the ride and totally miss other things. Fortunately the camera records every single thing and long after the ride is done you can still revisit old footage and discover new things. For me this is what cycling is all about, to be totally immersed within your environment. To be one with your bike, the road and the surroundings with no worries about competition or performance. Just being, total surrendering and at peace if just for a moment with the entire universe. Thank you for sharing your adventure and your life with all of us Mark. It is a great privilege to allow us to follow the journey of a real world class human being. You are the spirit of a true legend my friend.
Congratulations on the ride and the GREAT videos you have made. Your honesty with your audience about yourself is in my opinion your great strength in the story telling. You are really doing some fine work. You are cycling's Casey Neistat.
Awesome effort Mark, what a great achievement. I know what you mean by the serenity of country roads. Loving the videos and Ryan is a crack up, great value that boy, too funny.
Thanks mate for the blog. Enjoyed in everyway possible. Loved watching the scenery and the bunch ride was entertaining... And yea the guy loves to chat(can't quote his name)...Enjoyed.
I think you have outdone yourself with this series. What a great mix of your solo time sprinkled with your Curve mates and locals along the way. I think if you do another pilgrimage (maybe a 4 - 5 day trip like you suggested) to Adelaide next year there might be plenty of your followers that would like to join you. The scenery and serenity of the countryside looked awesome.
A year late, don't even know if yur gonna see this. Just catching up on older vlogs and totally loved this one. Lovely to see Adelaide again. Love in UK but family live in Adelaide and best buddy lives in Melbourne. Lovely to see the sights. And I ride alone most of the time and love. You're ace Mave but I am loving the Rhino I gotta say! He speaks my language!
Really miss Australia and can't wait to get back there with the bike (it's been 20 years) These videos have got me pining to get back sooner. Great stuff! If you ever come over to Japan let me know, I'll show you around the mountains.
Naracoorte to Murray Bridge in a single day is ridiculous. Takes me a day to get from Glen Osmond to Mount Barker in its current state. Great work guys, I’ll be there one day.
Excellent series of videos Mark and a really great achievement. I'm a new subscriber and I'm really looking forward to watching more, your videos are top quality.
Feeling nostalgic rewatching your old videos Mark having been a long time subscriber and loving it. Funny to see the curve boys in there for the first time with Ryan and Jessie too. This Adelaide series is a classic. Keep up the good work dude
Best vlog yet Mark, well done for going the distance with all that kit! You're making me want to come check out the riding down under! Looks great out there. Hope you enjoyed the TDU too!
Your rides were awesome! I really enjoyed this series! Very good videos and very entertaining! I'm watching you from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil! Keep on doing Thereza videos and trips! Good ride! God bless!
Brilliant vlog Mark.. loved every second of it. Would be a dream for me to ride in a small group like that, along those sunbathed roads. Thought the sunburnt guy - at 5.13 mins - was wearing white shorts below his bibs. it was his virgin white thighs lol. Great that you met up with the elder pros. they still look like they can ride a fair whack. What ages are they now. No wonder we see so many older riders and so many groups in your vlogs. If we had that weather I guess we'd be the same ! Glad you made it tho, and as you say it's sometimes better to slow it down and enjoy the road ;)
Mate that was an epic ride, thanks for sharing your trip and beautiful sights with us! Makes me wanna leave the cold north and indoor training in Denmark for Australia. Btw. that Brian gut is hillarious! :D

thanks Mr. Cycling Maven! Enjoyed the videos. Well done in that heat! Awwwwesome. Love to join in on that sort of thing one day. I wanted to do my first 200 km day this summer ( i live in europe)..did several, and. 324km day too so I know a bit about that headspace you were in.
