I was Once a Volunteer Fire fighter Now that I am Older with health Issues Every time I see These fire fighters Responding Gives me Goose bumps. wishing I was younger . and there . My Youngest Daughter Is a firefighter . so I go to the Fire House when she is there . Couple members take me out in the truck something make me feel wanted .
That tractor-drawn Peterbilt Tanker is the nicest Tanker I've ever seen. That Tanker was at the big Lakewood/Brick brush fire in 2021.
It's a 1993 and runs like a champ 6k gallons of water
@@jake31198It's a gorgeous piece, and looks to be in immaculate shape.
The lack of sirens was quite disappointing 😂
Great catch of some less commonly rigs. I do wonder, was this New Jersey’s covert no siren day or something????
So happy to finally get 1808!
I’m surprised the one truck at 2:30 dragging the trailer safety chains since that can also cause a fire.
Can’t believe you got another one of these huge brush responses, fantastic video!
Thank you so much and neither can I, it was a far drive so i missed a few before I got there but I was happy to get another tractor drawn tanker!
You don't see many of them around! I would love to catch one but we got none in CT.
@@demonracer2 Manitou Park has one of the few last tractors in Ocean County
@@jake31198 yeah there are only a few left statewide
@@demonracer2 .
Heavy hitters with impeccable equipment
Demon Racer, Those Semi Tankers are a sight to behold. I have noticed that they seen to be a dying breed. More departments that had them, are going to tandem straight tankers. Too bad, they make anything else look small!!!👍👍👍
Problem in our area is that they are too darn big. You could likely manage, but as hard as it is to run a tandem axle tanker, a full size rig would be too cumbersome. I’ve heard stories of farmers joining the dump queue to drop what they had, but singles and tandems here. As well, they aren’t exactly front page on manufacturers’ brochures, so I’d imagine they aren’t too fond of them either.
Afterthought-as it turns out, where I used to live, the airport had a full size tanker. Thing is a beast. When it was called, they sent it with several front escorts.
@@jaysmith1408 yes, I would think so! I would expect an escort would be necessary. Just like the fire dozer lowboys of California. Alot of truck to stop, if someone gets in the way!! 👍🏻 Thanks!
@@jaysmith1408 Actually they are easier to maneuver than the tandems. I can turn much sharper in a tractor-trailer combo than I can in my tandem axle dump truck. Problem is fire fighters don't go through CDL training so they don't learn how to properly handle rigs that large. EVOC/EVAP, CEVO or whatever emergency driving program a dept chooses to use isn't adequate for learning how to properly maneuver large rigs like that, especially tankers.
@@mikel9567 not with the tandems all the way back it ain’t. But figure that many of the departments that would use these would be familiar with driving them anyways. Our department has three class A drivers and two class B drivers by coincidence. Last deployment had one class A driver and three class B drivers. Not the point. Yes training should be rigorous for those not familiar with them, and it should be up to the AHJ to separate driver qualifications from the class B trucks and the tanker. That said, I have yet to see an EVOC course that actually involves emergency vehicle operations. It’s more of a ‘figure it out as you go’ thing than what PD offers.
The tanker at 2:13 is super cool, I've never seen anything like that before
Come to Australia. NSW RFS has a bunch of them and some 3 axle drive rigids.
@@muddydave01 Europe too
I never did either!!
I'm in Southern California and got the alert on my police scanner app.👍👍
You always get the good stuff! Nice catch!
Thanks bud I really appreciate it!
Have to ask if I may, at around the 8:46 mark of the video, saw on the back windows of that one fire truck there were decals of Both Casper the Friendly Ghost & Mighty Mouse, are those the mascots of that department?
Great video
Thank you!
What a Great Video!! You out did yourself on this one!! I see a lot of your other great videos but this tops them all. Keep up the great work as always!! I noticed that too that the Fire Trucks didn’t use their sirens. How come?
Thank you so much for the kind words, and sirens seem to be hit or miss in ocean county, I was standing pretty close to the scene
great work as always
Thank you so much!
I love that unit 1808, the pumper/ tanker , tractor trailer. But I wonder if they can get a hard suction on with them hooked up or if they have to drop the trailer and back up the tractor next to the trailer. I do realize the primary purpose of the pump is probably to fill the tank, quickly.
Hard suction from the pump right to the trailer. Holds 6,000 gallons of water. 1993 peterbilt Manitou Park Fire Co Berkeley township
Awesome catches!
Thanks so much!
i love the squad if 6 brush trucks showing up to put in work
Do fire trucks in New Jersey come with sirens? lol. Great video, I enjoyed watching this one. How much water does the tractor drawn tanker carry? How big was this fire?
They do but sadly some departments choose to not use them. 6000 gallons and 400+ acres
Nice to see you doing south jersey to now . All your north jersey stuff is great to .
Thank you so much! Happy you enjoy the content!
2:15 what make/model of siren speaker?? I’ve been trying to find that model for over a decade but can’t identify it
Awesome video
Thank you so much!
Cheers to firefighters across the US and Canada. There is not one fire truck in this continent that is not immaculately clean and shined up. Thank you all!
Awesome catch
Thank you!
Sick response bro
Thank you!!
At the 5 minute mark and more at that intersection there's tons of rigs going through the intersection with no siren staring at a red. Lots of liability if you cause a wreck with just lights on and no siren. I hate to say negative things but hopefully they see this and us it as a learning tool.
Yeah wtf? Not even air horns from the large rigs. Stupid reckless
As long as they make sure traffic stops for them it is fine.
@@jayasmrmore3687that’s the problem genius, the siren grabs your attention to a vehicle that would be blowing the light
I agree, Jordon. When you learn the skills of a firefighter, you learn that your own safety is the most important of all. I’d say legal safety is a part of that. Just by turning the siren on you can dodge years of misery.
Where I live all emergency services have to stop at all lights even with sirens on
Nice video!
Thank you!
That's a lot of water, holy cow. Nice catches!
Lot of water indeed, and there was a whole different task force in the other side of the fire! Thanks for watching!
Wow!!
Mantap...
Thank you for your great service all of you!!! Wow what a wonderful blessing!!! 😊🇺🇸😎🙏😊
Thank you very much!
Are sirens not a thing in New Jersey? Hard to warn people at upcoming intersections that emergency vehicles are approaching by just lights alone…
I was thinking the same thing. Virginia "lights and siren" go together. Not either or.
I agree too!!
Not to mention a liability issue in case of a crash!!
Yes
@3:50 ...wtf is that... I can never unsee it
Mantap
Just wondering how come 1808 Tractor drawn tanker doesn't have a lot of lights on it or were they not all on?
Camera shutter speed makes it hard to see the flashes on lights. If you were seeing it in person, you'd see more distinct flashes.
The old school strobes on it don't get caught on camera
@@gsaldana22 I was thinking that could be the case.
Never would i have thought id see another jeep grand cherokee that looks the exact same with the same light setup of blue lights in the same state as my jeep.
which forest?
Didn't know New Jersey had a forest
We have acres and acres of Forest
Why did MOST trucks not use their siren?
Surprised NJ does not use stump jumpers...
Does New Jersey not use sirens with lights? Virginia requires lights and sirens, not either or.
If there's next to the scene and there's no traffic on the intersection the trucks dont need sirens or Lights. If it's first responding to the scene then yes they need lights and sirens. You'll usually only see them if its a forest fire that is near a large residential area, or other emergencies. Also North and South Jersey might have different fire regulations.
sick Peterbilt tanker....
It sure is sharp!
Scary part is wild fires in the winter? Must be very dry
It's been abnormally dry this winter here in the Philadelphia area.
I did notice a lot of rigs going slower than traffic and no sirens. At that point just shut them off. It creates a lot of confusion and could potentially cause another incident. Especially with big water tankers.
Maybe they were just arriving on scene? Also, how would it vause confusion? Lights were literally on.
Luar biasa sigapnya.
6000 gallons at least 🤤
It looks like everyone in a 20mile radious showed up.
Because it's a forest fire...?
3:54 - that just looks so weird
keren
1:33 wow polisi
Mobil pemadamx bagus banget y 👍
three like fire marshall
Ok
Where is forest country
I guess it was a chance to get out of the office and do something -- like stand around and drink the free coffee.
The office of their own homes? All of these companies are volunteers
TDT!
They are becoming more and more rare!
does no one pull over for emrergency vehicles with lights flashing
Sadly it’s become less and less common
It looks like they had a unit for each acre involved!
Unfortunately many of the structural units responding are not very useful but I doo appreciate the multi agency response. From a former wildland firefighter.
The structural units were apart of the structural protection task force. The majority of the brush units were at the fire which I was unable to get to
It's called urban interface. Wildland Firefighter...
What former rank were you in huh?
So was there even a fire ?
400+ acres
Sirens must be illegal there like every thing else
No? it's just not congested.
Don't exaggerate. I'm sure they have siren policies when arriving on scene, and there could be many reasons why. I wouldn't get annoyed by sirens when trying to do my work on a scene without getting distracted, do you?
0:17 ya
*great vid tho! I've just always wondered what's the point in responding without sirens and only lights lol*
They get annoying on a long call😂
Thank you, and I was standing close to the scene so they had most of the sirens off by time they got to me sadly
@@demonracer2 gotcha lol was just wondering
@@muddydave01 yeah I get that from experience lmao was just wondering if it was like a standard or something in his state
They were just arriving on scene.
*are they required to respond without sirens or something? Why do they do that?*
They don't have to be rolling down the highway sirens / air horn 24/7 if they are in their lane they can just leave their lights on. Also I do believe some departments shown in the video have siren restrictions.
@@Northerncoloradofirebuff Interesting, yeah I'm a firefighter. In my state you are required to have lights and sirens on the entire time until you pull into the residence/scene.
@@emt_luke Oh wow I didn't know that what state?
@@emt_luke You really want firefighter's ears to be bursted don't you?
@@tobeannounced_TBAEAS lmao I'm s firefighter
Yawn...
