R Soul I'm a 47 year old "kid"! Yeh the rs500 cosworth sierras were an awesome car aswell, the gtr was the only thing that could keep up with or beat them, Holden v8's had nothing.
If you are talking about the sound when he lifts off the throttle that isn't the wastegate, it's called flutter or surge and is on the compressor side.
DriftNick as long as there is no air escaping when it does a blow off. Then it will flutter. But with a wastegate the revs open up and everything is wayyyyyyy louder. Everything is louder with a ext wastagate.
Minus the wastegate part you are correct, wastegates have nothing to do with the sound, you could remove the wastegate and the flutter will happen the same.

I guess AVESCO will need to change its acronym?
I missed that one
Galarn! I stand corrected but I still call them V8 Supercars
Godzilla Boy Now it is Supercars only. Although a lot of people still call it V8 supercars
Anyone know the actual lap time he posted?
to be honest today will be the last Mt Panorama i will support
Why? It's still all V8s next year. They aren't allowed to introduce the V6TT to the race lineup until 2019, and even then, not everyone will necessarily adopt the V6TT.
This thing sounds like a beast, coming over the hills.
thank u supercars..sign.off time
What top speed did it hit down Conrod straight.
Then the F6 comes and chops it lol
there was a storm in australia, they identified it as typhoon
@@zurasho043kranky7 🙌😂
Would love to hear some raw footage. I highly doubt that the dose noise is louder than the exhaust and I'm pretty sure he didnt downshift 4 times as he came around the chase.
From the front of the car the dose is fairly loud, same with the turbo GT3 cars that flutter, when not facing the exhaust it's louder.
"V8 Supercars"
"V8"
Except they dropped the V8 from the Supercars name a few years ago. Teams are allowed to develop either a Turbo 4cyl, Twin turbo V6 or naturally aspirated V8
Who edited this video? Their ADD is showing through with the camera change every 1.5 seconds
Nissan R32 GTR sounded much better and made more power back in early 90's. Taken Holden 26 years to develop an engine that makes less power and sounds worse, well done!!
BEEF05 ooh a bit touchy there big boy!?
01ajmc to be fair, they could probably turn up the boost quite easily on these and get some massive power figures
01ajmc back in the 90s, the R32 was just another car, it is lauded by you kids so much because you grew up playing computer games. The Group A Sierras at the time were just as fast but couldn't make their 90s tech tyres go the distance. Or were you too young to watch racing back then?
R Soul I'm a 47 year old "kid"! Yeh the rs500 cosworth sierras were an awesome car aswell, the gtr was the only thing that could keep up with or beat them, Holden v8's had nothing.
01ajmc am glad to hear that, it is just most people who revere the R32 are schoolkids, in this case I am proven to be wrong.
That wastegate tho ❤️❤️
If you are talking about the sound when he lifts off the throttle that isn't the wastegate, it's called flutter or surge and is on the compressor side.
DriftNick the turbo flutter usually is caused by an external wastegate. People usually run no blow off valve and only wastegates to get the flutter.
The sound is from the compressor side, the wastegate is on the exhaust side and has nothing to do with it.
What did it lap there
"V8" supercar ☹️
Love the sync mesh gear changes
What an insult to all the men and women who built cars in this country, in what is now a defunct industry, to be calling this a Sandman let alone a Holden.....besides...heard better at McDonalds carpark Auburn...
Bravo dean you are completely correct
Winning is winning, regardless of displacement.
Unfortunatly the Holden name should die along with the Australian manufacturing of them!
corey boundy Nah, keep the Holden name. I can't support Ford, or Nissan or Merc.
There's some pretty nice shit boxes in Auburn bro.
Biggest question...
What sort of times was Murph able to lay down?
That won't ever be released, they wouldn't want people comparing the times to the times the v8's
Sounds like crap
James Chapman It really doesn’t though, but not as good as a V8.
Absolutely James
Anyone know what sorta times it ran around Bathurst was it competitive?
I heard it was a couple of seconds slower
WTF was that shitbox? An old wagon of some dealers backyard with a spoiler.
Nztrailriders you should think yourself lucky that Australia had a proud history of making some of the best muscle cars and road cars in the world. And you should also think yourself lucky that Australia has provided your police force with cars for thirty years when they probably would've been driving British shitboxes. Your little island has produced nothing worth speaking of
Captain Kaos We produced Jim Richards
Captain Kaos We split the Atom, we allowed women the vote first, climbed Mt Everest first, first to drive to the south pole, we invented the Hamilton Jet, the Bungee jump, the Britten V1000... plenty happening in Kiwi land. At least you invented the rotary clothes line in Aus though. Good job with that one.
Brem lol thanks mate, we are real proud of the old hills hoist washing line. But in saying that, you kiwis are some smart cookies over there, you have a good car culture too.
Jacob Stofmeel Was the rotary lawn mower Aussie too? I seem to recall something about that.
I wanna know what the lap time was👻
Sounds like a Carerra Cup Porsche which is SHIT!!!
1. It doesn't 2. Carrera Cup cars sound amazing
But I love shits...
A carrera cup car is NA, this turboed
Shark1076 Butthurt V8 fanboy
You actually have balls??? Typical Gamer
How much boost is it running and what kind of times dose it achieve?
Sick boost and awesome times.. Who gives a f@%k! Go watch euro wank racing and get all the boost you want. Seriously lol
Why haven't we been shown the engine bay??
I still reckon and have done so for a number of years now they need to run another series in conjunction with Bathurst, but a mini style bathurst which is a stepping stone for drivers wanting to compete in bathurst. Engine capacity limited to a 6cyl series class only, however the engine can be turbo/supercharged like the vehicle featured and NOT limited to Holden/Ford, it could be opened up to all marques. It would garner more interest from a younger generation and get them to be the next spectators to carry the torch for enjoying Bathurst
