No way will he lose HP considering he has that heat shield. I just made my own intake where I cut off the MAF section from the stock air box. I installed pod filters on both sides and I made my own cylindrical heatshield that goes from the pod to the factory air inlet. Definite noticeable gain in HP and response. I drove it hard for about 20 minutes on a hot day and didn't notice a loss in power at all.

Awli I bought some of my own from autozone, I was able to get the passenger side done but I had to remove those extra parts in the video u showed. I’m not sure if I’m supposed to put them back on or not so right now is just the hose from the intake connected straight to the crankcase. As for the driver side I’m gonna give it another try because that side is still kinked
Look at the lines and put ur finger around the clamps or tubes make sure none have a whole or is leaking air or vacuuming air and make sure you put the map sensor back in correctly and its connected
dont get these bro . your not getting any gains with a short ram hot air intake. you need the stillen cold air . cost abot 545.00 plus tax at z1 motor sports. way better plus youle see gains . the sound is amazing as well. this is trash .
@@awli280 He's not joking. Cold air intakes are usually outside the engine bay(behind the front grille). That short ram is getting mostly hot air from the open filter next to the engine.

No ! definetly dont tune with a sort ram . youle also need new upgraded fuel pump and bigger injectors . not only that but a super charger or a turbo would need to be installed before you tune. youlle need an extra 5k to do all that modding .

Stock intakes work better then short ram intakes, the engine sound is pretty much gone after you go with a nice exhaust set up.

Ur cel came on after the installation? If it did make sure to connect all the hoses and the clamps are tight any vacuum leak will make ur cel come on
