Although not strictly a rocket, China is working on the Tengyun program, which consists of 2 space planes, a carrier and a shuttle, the space planes can takeoff and land horizontally, sending crew and cargo to LEO.

You only covered the Long March series, but speaking of China's rockets, at least orbital one, there are still other series like Kuaizhou, Smart Dragon, Ceres, Zhongke etc etc....

I thought China had already picked out a spot on the far side of the moon to build their base, but I also see it may be a lunar orbit station opposite the one Artemis plans. Maybe both?
@@vidyaishaya4839 Seems like they want both. The plans for ILRS is currently under development and was first published in 2021. I expect more details from the Chinese when they publish their 5y plan later this year :)

@@furiousscotsman2916 Problem? He is comparing LM5 with Falcon 9 not Falcon heavy.
Part of the reason for this is because falcon 9 reusability require some fuel to be save for booter return and landing which lowers payload to orbit. When the booster is expended the payload if far higher but spacex really only does this with booster they no longer car about for the obvious cost reasons.

Blue Origin and Jeff Bezos followed "ultra-rich first, then rockets" path.
Blue Origin was founded before SpaceX in 2000. They just never made the same progress that SpaceX did.
I dont think NASA solely relies on SpaceX, NASA took a strategic decision to shift towards private sector and enable private sector to tap into that frontier. NASA was clear with their intentions of moving towards deep space exploration rather than building launch vehicles. Apart of the SpaceX there is a number of companies building rockets, once that matures, it will outshine rest of the countries. Additionally, competition is always good, China is a key player and they development over the years is astonishing. I hope that race will accelerate and countries will focus on space rather than following earthly matters :)

As for why the United States refuses to work with China is because Chinese engineers while working in Miami Florida back in the 90s tried to steal military intelligence and blueprints. Nice story to catch us up about what they've done, but what about their plans for the moon? I thought they published a plan for a moon base in 2017.
The next five year will be doing surveys of the moon and technology testing. From 2030-2035 they will start construction and ferrying of equipment. They plan the first moon landing and moon base in 2035-2040.
Well they have two successful Landers on the moon and they will continue with autonomous missions until about 2027
I’ve also heard that they are developing something similar to the Orion spacecraft for, Moon missions

Europe is catching up quick, too. For space you have to think longterm and as an example PangeaAerospace has the possibly best engine. Italy, Germany, the UK and other countrys are working hard but sadly there is not much talk about it,
PangeaAerospace has the best engine in terms of what? Efficiency, thrust to weight, cost? And do you mean best in Europe? My understanding is Airbus Defense and Space is the leader in Europe, designing the engines for Ariane 5 and the upcoming Ariane 6.
@sky sky Arianespace and Airbus have developed very capable rockets, that's what was used to ferry the James Webb Space Telescope to it's orbit. They don't have a human passenger rated rocket yet, but they do have very capable rockets and a great launching platform in French Guinea.
Looking forward to their next generation space station. The space race is cool.

while I have not double check your conclusions. we need to understand, as a nation, that mastery of space is the next domain. I hope all players are honorable and non-aggressive. We really don't militarize space. That is a really bad idea.
I fear it's inevitable. It's what humans do. And China seems to be set on getting there, if not first, with a greater sense of urgency. The US, and the West in general, has become too corrupt/decadent to truly compete without private investment. Not saying they can't win, but they really need to get over themselves or the sky will belong to China. Soon.
unfortunately your hope is idealistic and the reality reflects the sad state of affairs on earth. with the forming of US space force and the infamous "star war" program launched by Reagan militarization of space has officially long been started. Even SpaceX' starlink sats have their military use AND have Pentagon's blessing and partial funding!
China will militarize space if the current aggressive leadership stays in place. They desire to rule over the world. Look at their Doctrine. They consider themselves a superior race. They are supremacist. It will not go well for the world if their progress continues.

ROC or republic of China is actually Taiwan. People's republic of China is current day modern China, and what Mao was leader of. Republic of China is Maos enemy, and Chiang Kai Shek was the leader of ROC. They lost vs the communists and ran away to Taiwan, where their official name is still republic of China to this day, and they still claim all of China including the mainland. Hence the civil war has not officially ended, with both sides claiming the other. Hence why Taiwan is not an independent country and no one recognises it as such, those who recognise Taiwan over China recognise roc as the legitimate ruler of ALL China, and not as an independent state that just consists of Taiwan island. Such a thing does not exist in international relations or law, and roc/Taiwan has never made such a claim, ever. And I doubt they will, because mainland China/PRC will invade them if they even try to separate Taiwan Island from China as an independent state. USA and rest of the world also does not support that and instead supports the status quo, which is thet Taiwan is part of one China, and one China is currently recognised as PRC, under the rule of CPC.

I'm interested in hearing about the Chinese industry, and there is indeed some impressive stuff going on, but I am starting to get weirded out by this channel's ostensible lack of interest in the swathe of freshly germinating private and public space sector interests, which are starting to show signs of flourishing throughout many of the globe's more economically developed countries/regions - (not least in Europe, the US and of course China, but also many others). It's not just China vs SpaceX doing crazy innovative stuff right now. Maybe it's because other topics don't get the viewership? I guess I understand if the focus is dictated by monetary concerns - can't blame you for that I suppose.
@Carl tbh that's kind of the problem I was referring to. There is so much going on in the industry right now that could have massive implications for our future. Communications, exploration, the slowly widening democratisation of space driven by ambitious (and often lesser known) players, manufacturing, energy, military, robotics, increased potential for genuinely viable economic interests... . Personally, I feel that in the long term, these kinds of things are what will drive the really interesting stuff - the stuff that most of us aren't even thinking about, and that will quietly creep up on us. It's not all just SpaceX, NASA, China, Rocket Lab, Blue Origin - as much as these things tend to get the headlines. I love that stuff too, but there is so much more... . Plus, I think that if there was more of a focus on some of the other things going on, then ideas like 'China taking over space' might get brought back down to earth a little bit, by virtue of a little added context.

NASA put live men on the moon back in the 60's. The Soviet Union crashed their Cosmonauts into the moon while the crew of Apollo 11 were busy on the surface.
