Вставка
- Опубліковано 30 вер 2024
- Lutetium Aluminum Garnet (LuAG) is a substance that is created in a laboratory for scientific purposes. Because it ranks pretty high on the Mohs scale, it is also very well suited for jewelry. Watch as award-winning gem cutter, Michael Sackos, facets this BRIGHT man-made gemstone into the “Salamando’s Inferno” design by Arya Akhavan.

So cool, thanks for talking about this stone! I just ordered an 18 carat cut luAG to custom mount in a ring, I can’t wait. I can see this stone becoming more popular over time.
I agree, LuAg cuts a very unique gemstone!
That’s an interesting gem cut. Wondering if you have ever done any facet designs from Marco Voltolini. He has this one called Sparkly Dome, and it would look great with that stone as well. I did a simulation of it on an emerald on gem cut studio and it looks great if you have a good clarity stone.
Yes, I have cut several designs by Marco Voltolini, including "Arpo". I made a video of cutting that design. I have enjoyed cutting his designs.
Hey !! Bopie I am from India and I love your work. I want to learn gems cutting and earning can you give me advice how to start??
I really don't know anything about how to get into colored gem cutting in India. I do know there are many great cutters in India, but I don't know where they are. I have visited Mumbai, and met with some folks in the Diamond market there. I was introduced by a former Rappaport employee and learned a lot, but that was about Diamonds, not colored stones. Wish I could help you further.
Thank you for being the teacher that you are. I have decided to learn this skill at the young age of 73 and you are the reason. Again thank you for sharing your knowledge and giving me a reason to learn something as there is nothing I'd like more than look at sparklies and know I made it! Keep on cutting!
You are welcome! I think you will enjoy gem cutting!
That looks really cool!how much would it cost
For you to make one same size same shape?
Thanks
As a rule, I don't discuss pricing here as my videos are designed as tutorials to help other cutters learn to cut gemstones. If you are interested, my wife, Bopie, has a jewelry store and does sell my gemstones at the store. You are welcome to contact Bopie regarding purchasing any gemstone I cut.
Fantastic colour and design a beautiful stone thanks
You are welcome.
This lap and that lap and does it really matter tin or copper or?
I am a bit of a lap-a-holic, so I tend to try all the laps I can. I do notice a difference with different laps and sometimes on that one troublesome facet, a different lap is the magic bullet. So for me, yet, I like having different laps. However, I know many, as in very many, cutters who get by with very few laps and they do great. Although I never mastered my ceramic lap, I do know cutters who do all their polishing on one ceramic lap...it works for them...but not me. I know cutters who only own the Batlap and love it. So what ever works for you.
Amazing as usual! Thanks for the great video!
You are welcome!
I’ve been wanting to purchase a cut LuAg! Excited to see this video!
LuAG cuts a very unique stone!
Which UV glue did you use?
The brand is Helios, but other cutters have had luck with other brands.
Hi ,very nice
Thank you!
hell yeah!!
🙂Thanks.
Great work. Cant wait to get a modern machine to cut on.
Thank you! The machine does make a bit of difference, but a lot of great cutters are using older machines and models.
