Nice run through - rim lights are good at taking out colour spill as well if you're quite close to the backdrop. I find holding down CTRL/CMD with the eyedropper in Premiere really helps in Ultra Key as it takes an area average and not just single pixel.
Is the vinyl good for folding ? Or just staying up all the time , for someone who has less space, or would it be better to get the fabric and use a steamer.
Really good video! I have one of the fodable green screens and I am having trouble figuring out how to fit my whole body into it as I need my whole body in frame. Got any tips?
Hi, how do you get that gradienty thing on the purple? Does that have to do with the lights, or is that done in post? Everything I do seems to be really flat, it doesn't have that glow? Any help would be appreciated greatly. Thank you
@@lennarthennig5063 it's not a green screen, they are using lee filter color gels pointed at the background to get that depth. Its not a green screen. That gradient is too smooth
I've recently started using a green screenfor my videos. I've got a problem with my process. First, I create my initial draft with the screen, then edit it, and export it. Then, I take it back into my editor to change the background and export it again for the final one. Am I doing it correctly or doubling my effort foolishly? OR, is it done this way only?
It’s like you’re rushing through the actual information to slow down and take time for when you think you’re being cute. That makes it feel long even though it’s a relatively short video. Hope this feedback helps.
Glad it helped! They are something similar to this: www.amazon.co.uk/Roof-rail-studio-lighting-pantographs/dp/B00R1UZDJA/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=Roof+rail+kit+for+studio+lighting&qid=1621512130&sr=8-3
Your video is fantastic! Why so little love?! I'm on the cusp of buying some lights to light my green screen. I live in Canada. I'm thinking that 2 x Neewer Bi-color 660 LEDs (3200-5600K; CRI 96+) will be good. Do you think those would be better than the YONGNUO YN216s that you're using? Overkill? The screen is in my garage, 7 feet wide. Thanks for creating great content!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed! The Neewer Bi-color 660 LEDs are a great choice, they will need some additional diffusion to soften the light, but should be powerful enough for the job! The YONGNUO YN216s are another great choice, they can be a little too focused however with diffusion they work awesome!
Haha and I thought I could buy a couple of strips of green screen and put them on my closet doors... Didn't even consider all that lighting stuff. I didn't know I needed a completely empty room and lots of money
@@VisualLineLtd I would like to now the model 's of the lights you have in this set, also i was trying to find Vinyl green screen any brand in particular good?
@@chiwalawala2114 We use Came-TV Boltzen 55W Fresnel lights with Godox 80cm softbox Bowens mount light modifiers (you will need the Came-TV Bowens adaptor to do this). Our vinyl green screen is a Bessel 4x6m reversible chroma screen, though I think this particular size has been discontinued. There is a similar sized vinyl screen on Savage Universal :)
We used a purple gel on a light to get this look. But if you only have a green screen, you could find a purple backdrop or make one on Photoshop and use that as your replacement. Hope this helps!
I don't see anybody doing this, but a green screen should be cotton-like material and lit from the back side using electric lighting or midday light from a big window. The money people are spending and the lengths they are going through to light the front of screen while a person is in the way is almost laughable sometimes.
Surprised that no reasoning regarding the distance to the green screen was mentioned. Clearly we see the shadows that disappear, but to not mention the NIGHTMARE of green light spill onto the subject for post production stumped me. Then again, in this video, you clearly have quite a bit on yourself too.. so. I guess you didn't know..?
Everywhere... The band wagon of lighting in 2021 seems to be light one side of the face and shadow the other side F*** that I’m going to stick to even lighting
I think you are referring to Rembrandt lighting, it’s a very common lighting technique, easy to set up, effective and cheap - not to mention being an industry wide standard 🙂
"Defuse lights" was just what i didnt know was my solution to my problem and needed to hear. thx :)
That false colour tip for determining the uniformity of exposure across the green screen is $$$!
slapping. absolutely slapping, young man
Thanks for the video! And thanks for making it so fun to watch. I bookmarked it for the future reference :)

DIY lights are high CRI LED strips set in diffuser channels, cheap and very even lighting.
Thank you for your contribution.
nice video! would have been great to have also a quick overview of the position of the lights (like a diagram/sketch)

Thanks for the video & info. My question is how did you make the pink background that you are talking in?
We use a combination of RGB LED lights and coloured gels from LEE filters :)

Would love an answer on that too! It looks so good, really has depth and doesn't look like a simple gradient. Please share with us how you did this!
