The problem is a failure in the tiny electric mesh circuit that is embedded the touch screen. The fix is a hardware replacement of the touch screen that sits in front of the lcd display. The touch screen (digitiser screen) is available for 161 euros in the Netherlands. To get that into the UK will be quite expensive as we have VAT, Delivery and Import Duty charges to add. The replacement of the digitiser screen is a fairly quick job once you have removed the ICE unit from your vehicle dashboard. If you can repair the screen on an iPhone, this is easier.

I’m an ex employee of Mitsubishi Motors in the UK (The Colt Car Company Ltd). Worked in the IT department for 17 years so although not involved in the vehicle side, there was plenty of knowledge bouncing around our company. All unfortunately gone now as Mitsubishi Japan decided to stop selling their vehicles in Europe. A real shame as the 2023 Outlander PHEV is gorgeous IMHO but it will never reach the UK.
The dealer is unable to help except pass on the request for a replacement part to Mitsubishi Parts supply UK. At which point it joins the queue of waiting for a part along with the rest of the world. Unfortunately the dealer gets it in the neck from the customer as they are the face of the service channel for a manufacturer that gave up on Europe. Some of that blame should probably go to Renault and Nissan for c*cking up the threesome.

Is the part expensive once they’re available from Mitsubishi?
Yes!!! 2800 bucks
I have a 2020 as well and it is doing same thing and I can’t even set my clock or get Sirius XM, I am going to try this today and will post back 🤞🏻
Also, use the hands free on the steering wheel for some media functions
So, there's no way to fix this? I wonder how much this digitizer costs...
Warranty just expired and my screen is half dead now.
@@PyroBrit thanks a bunch! I already purchased the touch screen from eBay, for about $100. Well see how this works.
@@micmousebg Please let us know how you get on with the repair.
This is for real. I just tried it!!!
Thanks👏🏿
My asx is 2022 and now the touch is failing ☹️☹️☹️
Brilliant Thank You. I just bought used Mitz ASX 2019 and would you know it.... The touch screen is useless. This hack works perfect! xoxo
Great workaround :D
Merci beaucoup pour le conseil. Je viens d'acheter un Outlander 2019 et Mitsubishi commande le nouvel écran. Le temps de le changer, je viens de réussir à connecter mon téléphone pour les appels.
Amazing! Thank you!!!!
Legend!!!
Thank you! Will try
Thanks for the great hack
Whats the part called?
It doesn’t fix the problem but it useful, thanks a lot
How did you figure this out though???
I’m an ex employee of Mitsubishi Motors in the UK (The Colt Car Company Ltd). Worked in the IT department for 17 years so although not involved in the vehicle side, there was plenty of knowledge bouncing around our company. All unfortunately gone now as Mitsubishi Japan decided to stop selling their vehicles in Europe. A real shame as the 2023 Outlander PHEV is gorgeous IMHO but it will never reach the UK.
Genius thanks
Awesome thank you!!!
Will try it with a lancer 2014 that is failing to respond at the bottom screen
Did it work

Thanks man, mine is doing this as well and lets just say the dealer are not helping much.
