  • Music video for the third single off of the album, "Happy In Galoshes" by Scott Weiland. One of the best videos (and songs) out there. Hopefully this single will see a good amount of radio play.

    Weiland should have never parted with Doug Grean. That guy is an instrumental, songwriting and producing force. Blaster had some good songs, but they don't compete with this, Paralysis, Killing Me Sweetly etc.

    • @velvetpilot2008
      @velvetpilot2008  3 роки тому +7

      As much of an enabler Doug might have been, the rest of the Wildabouts were way worse. Scott needed that sobriety coach in 2015 more than ever.
      Also, "Happy" In Galoshes will always be better than Blaster and in my opinion, much better than the VR albums.

    • @brandonstone5734
      @brandonstone5734 3 роки тому +10

      Yea, the Wildabouts were indeed wild. First guitarist overdosed, and the bassist was rumored to have possessed a number of the drugs that Weiland was on near the end of their last tour. Who knows if Grean's presence would have even mattered at that point. Artistically speaking, Weiland and Grean created a number of great rock tracks on Happy, and as a fan, you just wanted the hits to keep coming. He left a lot of great tunes for music fans to enjoy, but true fans didn't want it to end the way it did.

      DG said he was the only sober guy on tour. Over the years, addiction damage changes people’s personality and functioning. Part of the illness is that people become more challenging to deal with. Can you imagine living on a tour bus with someone and wondering each morning if they will wake up alive? Watch DG’s eyes and facial expression in the Reelz documentary. Dude was forlorn and heartbroken. 💔

      Doug was great for Scott's artsy and avante garde music but he was absolutely awful for the rock side Scott went in for the Wildabouts.
      Doug's a great musician let me make that clear, but he is a horrible hard rock guitarist. The Purple to the Core tour was butchered by Scott being fucked up and by Doug's desire to noodle over some of the heaviest songs/solos by STP and VR.
      I remember being blown away by how much better Slither sounded when Jeremy Brown became the full time guitarist over Doug. Nick Maybury also did more justice to the music than Doug.

      Not really too strange at all.. The way I feel about it is every stage in life, good or bad, up or down.. In this case for me, Scott's lyrics and vocals have been there Every.Single.Time. to be the soundtrack to the amazing things and to give me the strength to fight and pull through the hard times. Hell, even just to get up and get going in the morning or to relax to and enjoy life with his amazing voice to go along with the memories. SO whether good or bad I feel like he's always been there along the way and coincides with those memories and times. So, it is very easy to get emotional or feel love, loss or grief for Scott because his beautiful music had such a major impact whether you realize it or not on the most important things in your life and the music when you close your eyes can bring you right back to those exact beautiful moments. On the other hand, it can remind you of not so great times that the music helped you pull through and be stronger or it can remind you of sad times... Overall the short answer is Scott's voice and words were with you more than you may realize and emotions 99 out of 100 times run your thinking, heart, actions and the dynamic of having someone you never met being there in your ears leading to your heart is a very, VERY powerful thing. Scott was always sweet and appreciative when I or saw somebody else tell him how much his music meant to them or me and how, "Your music has been the soundtrack to my life...". I think that overwhelmed him a bit as he is very shy and bi-polar which led to him thinking he was next to nothing a lot. So in Scott's particular case he didn't FULLY realize how much he was loved and is now missed and was very bitter at the industry and the underbelly of being a celebrity and rockstar but the reality is he was and a very beautifully talented one at that. I still miss him so much everyday, I am just SO thankful we have the likes of UA-cam and such to see and hear him anytime, anywhere, always.. It's just sad to know his wife and kids are left behind and not knowing he is at peace in his studio doing what he loves making music or spending time with family and that no more new albums are coming.. Anyway, I totally relate... Hope this may be an answer to your statement/feelings.. : )

    It's a "cheesy" video, and that is what was attempted and succeeded. I find the video has a charming cuteness that accurately portrays infatuation. Just shows the fun, childish energy love can exert. Saying it looks cheap and crappy is odd, because anyone who knows STP, Revolver, and anything with Scott, knows he could have a nicer video if he wanted it.

      I'm glad others recognize this. I'm in awe that he had it still in him to complete songs like "Hotel Rio" in his last years. I'd have loved to hear how all that came about, if it was hip rock marketed towards hipsters or if it was sheer Scott doing himself only (no considerations for marketing) as usual.

    Is it just me or does Scott kind of look like Clint Eastwood in this?

    Scott Wieland can play a harp and a guitar together at the same time and it would be number one and sound good. 🎸 🤓

    Conoció a su primer esposa Janina cuando ella tenía 16 años; ella le inspiró canciones muy duras como sour girl y atlanta.Se divorciaron cuando él más la necesitaba, pero se entiende que tampoco pudo ser fácil para una persona y más aún, tan joven como lo era ella, lidiar con la bipolaridad y adicción de él. Esa etapa, tal vez, no la ha olvidado del todo; pareciera que él recrea una experiencia (no una fantasía de gran presupuesto) y el deseo de que el matrimonio funcionara, como todos.
