Good how to video. Toyota charged me $29 for a OEM filter. I now hear a hum from the blower. After watching your video I removed the filter to see if there was any obstruction. Looks as though the mechanic installed the filter correctly. Reassembled but still getting a hum from the blower. High speed blower the louder the hum. Thanks again for posting the video. It helped me. Now I have to find out what is causing the hum. Next time I change the filter myself I will install a K&M filter.
Just used your video to replace the cabin pollen filter on our 2010 Avensis the only difference is the access panel has a loop on the right and a clip on the left, but other than that it's the same. Great video and really helpful, thank you very much.
Awesome and very formal and helpful video. Video was great even though you had to hold the camera through out some of the steps. You saved me about $50.00.Thanks!
Two little things. There is one side that is supposed to be up. It should have a mark on it that says “air flow.” That arrow should point down. Second thing is you can’t just clean it any old way. You have to buy a K&N cabin air refresher kit. (Not the kit for the engine air filter.) That’s the only way to clean it that is approved by the manufacturer. I just cleaned mine. It’s really easy to clean. Two step process. Spray cleaner on the dry filter. Wait ten minutes and then rinse in cold or warm water. Run water so it flows opposite to the way air flowed. Wait a few minutes then spray the refresher on it. And replace in car. Done.
I bought this same filter. Unlike other filters that have arrows, this one really does not. I checked very carefully, looked at the instructions the product came in, and confirmed without a doubt it does not. All it says “Cabin filter will only fit in one direction”. I find it rather odd though.
+Jenny V Thanks Jenny- Happy to help. I love my K&N Air Intake system also. Increases horsepower while improving MPG. I tell anyone who'll listen to get one. www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?prod=69-8611TS
+GhostRiderEVHfan I got both the cabin air filter and the intake air filter. cabin air filter was a snap with your awesome tutorial. intake air filter was a bitch..... but I finally got it. thanks again for recommending these filters. great quality and such fast shipping when purchased. excited to see how they hold up.
Jenny V Yes the intake install is not easy. I would recommend consulting a pro. You will pay upfront but save in the long run. Also this company provides great tech support. They stand behind all of their products.
Really expensive on some model's a decent investment if this is your first cabin filter replacement and you plan on driving the car for a number of years then you might save some money (20-40 bucks at best). Only if you're committed to sticking with that filter and car for 5 or so years.

Earl Sewell I think this filter also works better for people with airborne allergies. It seems to do a better job of cleaning the air.

Tim P arrow down
Air flow is down. The only time an air filter arrow points up is if it says up next to the arrow on the filter.

You don't have to push the two tabs at the same time. You can push one and pull off that end of the cover, then go to the other side.
Thank you! Thank you!

ehh.. only 20-30 bucks and u get cleaner aireven if u have the car for 6 months that's a dollar 25 a week for clean air
Get a charcoal filter. Or K&N if your fancy
I'm sure not all aftermarket filters are junk. That simply sounds like a gross exaggeration.
Thanks for the video
Can I just wash this to remove the dust?
