Russ, as a German AND fan of your channel I can't thank you enough for this video. I wish there was a "1000x LIKE" button next to the regular one. Incredible, thank you.
Hey Russ! I was at Ludo as well thanks to your community post about it! 🙌 (The dude with the purple shirt with a pink Gameboy on it, rocking an original RP2) Thank you so much for making me aware of this, as well as just simply spending some time with me just to chat 🙏 (I am still sorry and embarrassed for being so awkward) It was a fun experience, I met a lot of cool people and a great honor to see you in person as well. Thank you! 🙏❤️
Thanks Russ for the sweet memories wrapped into this video ❤ It was a great to spend those two days together with you and the other retro game friends. It was a very inspiring time and a honor to make this lifetime check-mark to meet you once in person my friend!
I wonder if we used to work together! When I used to give tours there to school classes I’d always tell the students they can play against their teachers when the tour is over. The shocked look on the teachers’ faces was priceless! 🤣🤣🤣
As a Dutchie, it was such a joy to hear your observations about Amsterdam. Very funny! I'm glad you had a great time in both Germany as well as The Netherlands.
Fantastic video. As a European nice to hear an outside perspective. Also, I liked the historic details and that the darker parts were mentioned in a thoughtful way.
This is one of the videos I wished I could like multiple times! I didn't know there was a retro gaming event in the Netherlands. Otherwise I would've been there ^^ I am a fairly recent follower of your channel and I really like your videos. Keep up the good video work! I wish I could meet you in person ^^
Hey Russ, So funny to see my hometown and country through the eyes of a visitor from abroad! Great video, as always. Would have been a very strange experience to suddenly encounter one of my favourite UA-camrs here on the streets in Amsterdam 😅
Great video and awesome trip! Europe is indeed lovely and full os history ❤. Amsterdam is one of my favorite cities ever. I still have to visit Berlin, my wife was there and she loved the city as well.
I’ve used Xreal glasses both at home and in flights (even in a Starbucks once). It helped so much with preventing neck strain when looking down on handhelds for extended periods of time. The huge screen helps too! Only downside is I haven’t figured out a way to not have my RP4P’s fan automatically go into the highest setting when plugging in the Xreal.
The fact that he used fake Lego bricks for that TV Console build is hilarious. Having a fake console, i guess having fake lego bricks makes perfect sense.
@@RetroGameCorpsI get what you mean, when I first got my Nreal air I was really hoping to try it on my 14 hour flight to the uk, but then I chickened out after checking in only to see I got a middle seat😂. Since then i tried it on my other flights and found out window seat is the best for your setup, since nobody touches your gear when heading out for toilet breaks😅
This overview of your trip is very impressive :) How do you document the trip for these travel videos? Do you take notes for this video as you go or just review the footage when editing? Regardless of youtube, making these types of video summaries of trips seem like a great way to revisit the memories later.
? Russ, on my recent trip to Vegas few weeks ago [6 hr via flight] I used both NReal Glasses & Dyson Zone. And I had no shame. But my mum did. I didn't play my GPD Win Mini there though. Just watched backlog movies.
TSA measures their restrictions in Wh vs mAh, and the llimit s 100Wh. This bank is somewhere around 90Wh, and is advertised as being air travel compliant!
Oh boy,.... Too bad to know just know, that you have been in Berlin... I live in Berlin and it would have been amazing to shake hands and invite you and your wife to a drink...glad, you enjoyed it anyway....
Some corrections to potentially fatal errors (if you say them out loud in the right company): - Holland is not a country, it is a part of the Netherlands - Fries are not French but Flemish (Belgian): it says so on the shop sign - in the list of local cookies in the Netherlands, 'speculaas' ranks way above 'stroopwafels'. They're made using, with what Americans would call, 'pumpkin spice', and are actually Indian in origin. It's falls into a segment of winter type of cookies/pastries. - Gouda is only considered cheese if you're not talking to a French person
Yeah he feel conscious about the glasses but if I see someone pulled out 5 different handheld consoles 2 of them being steam deck size...I don't think the glasses matter at that point LMAO
30:00 amazed that place is still around, I bought rolling papers there like 12 years ago (I'm sure drug tourism creates a sustainable business model) edit: the Van Gogh Museum was so emotionally moving. The progression of the museum follows his life chronologically, which hit pretty hard.
I JUST acquired a pair of Xreal Air gen 1 glasses and I have zero issue using them. Mostly on my lunch breaks. But I work at a tech company so... I am surrounded by enthusiasts and designers. Traveling I would definitely use these for long flights or BUS rides, but I don't travel much, so they are mostly for my breaks and and on the couch at home.
Now that you've played my favourite Game & Watch: I neeeeeeeeed to play that game on one of my devices. Steam Deck would be overkill (but still strangely nice), but I'd love to have it on any of my devices, be that a miyoo mini+, RG 353VS, analogue Pocket... For some reason, all the sets never have the SMB Game & Watch game, I only find files for it I just can't get to work on any of those devices. :) (I do have the actual Game & Watch you showed there, but it would be just nice to have a backlit screen for it.)
Someday! I'm not well traveled, but my wife took me to London for my 40th this year and it was such a neat--yet anxiety inducing--experience to be somewhere entirely different from what I've known my entire life, as well as have a break for a week from my young children to just be an Adult again with my wife.
I love these sorta events/hangouts. Have some friends local in my country so thankfully I don’t have to travel half way across the world for that. Personally I’d like to visit Hawaii someday. Never knew much about it, but I do now after having played Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth. 😂 Great video.
Always like to see how foreign visitors experience Germany and Europe. As a German I've been several times to Berlin, but also visited Amsterdam. Great video.
Ahhhh 😢 I (from Berlin) missed you this time but next time I want to meet/see you. You are living and enjoying a wonderful life! ❤ Keep doing what you love and stay like you are! That's why we love you. Im following you a long time and your channel and you are a diamond on UA-cam. :)
Amsterdam is great, been getting out there every year (from the UK) for the last 20+ years. Shame you didn't stumble across Independent Outlet - killer record shop owned by my friend Aziz, singer of Dutch punk rock band NRA - I'm sure you would have found a record or two to take home with you! Some great venues there too, saw Samiam, BoySetsFire and Hot Water Music at the Melkweg back in October 2022 (Samiam stole the show).
Look at Russ rocking that economy middle seat on the long flight. What a legend.
All so my wife could have the aisle seat 😂
@@RetroGameCorpsSmart people 😈

I stayed for the travel vlogs.

Thanks for coming @MashTec! It was awesome to meet you and get to know you better.
I see so retro gaming does work in Germany as well, interesting.
Computerspiele museum in Berlin is a must visit!
I worked at the Computerspiele Museum some years ago. Had to play a lot of Pain Station against visitors. Good times! :D

Berlin is awesome. Next time, come to Cologne and we'll invite you to some beers 🍻
Yeah man, I wanna do it
Russ, please do not care what others think of you in public. Anyone who judges can just mind their own business!
It’s less about caring what others think but I prefer not to draw attention to myself while traveling 😎

It's a lot of fun! But yeah, very gory :)

Mannequin Piss! I had their fries, it was pretty good

« Ludo » is « I play » in old Latin.
It’s also my surname 😊
(French Ludovic, Italian Ludovico, German Ludwig…etc)
I believe it also translates to "play" (or some derivation of it) in Esperanto!
I though it was just a name for a boardgame
I hope Nintendo doesn’t copyright strike you again for daring to show the Super Mario 3D World logo.
I don't think they can prove whether I was using the actual cartridge or my MIG cart...I guess the world will never know... :D
