I've come back to this one a few times, Doc. You really captured the ominous aspect of the story. I think I just might have to write something specifically for you, if you'd like :) ~ Mike
A marvelous story! Riveting right from the first moment. You have to feel sorry for this man, brought low by his own arrogance. What is the old saying "Pride Goeth Before a Fall"? He had based his self-worth on the unreasonable trait of being fearless, and could not live with it when he found he reacted with very reasonable fear to a terrible and demonic haunting. Instead of learning from his experience, he threw his life away on overweening pride. If anything, to me it was his co-workers who showed themselves to be truly courageous. Despite their fears, despite knowing what was in the tunnel, when they heard him scream they did not hesitate to come to his rescue. Real courage is not in having no fear, it is in doing what you feel is right despite your fears.
I’m absolutely stunned. I’ve listened to this story three times consecutively. The author(s) are the stuff of near perfection! My wish is that I hear more of the same skills. Thank you.
I love tunnel and cave stories. Nothing spookier than a small dark place far in the ground. I would love to hear more. That would be awesome. Thank you!!!
dude this gave me chills, great reading. this story has given me a idea for a World of Darkness RPG plot. (a rpg dice game like DnD ) thanks for the inspection
I'm working on a presentation about things Nazis did during World War 2. Maybe I could research World War 2 stories like this and talk about ones that are at least partially true. It might even help me understand this one better.
I tend to this to this narration of yours at least a few times every other month. One of your very best narrations up to date! I have saved this playlist. I usually listen to it at home, work, even when going to sleep. Your an inspiration m8!
I've read Damn near ever one of Michael whitehouses stories on wattpad. I've always wanted to hear them narrated, and I'm so happy you did it. your voice works great with the stories. hope you get to narrate them all.
+DrCreepenVanPasta you should definitely, if you haven't already, read his story bedtime, it's an amazing horror story and I think youd really enjoy it.
I really like Dr.creepen his voice makes any good creepypasta just so much better but I realize that he has been on UA-cam for quite a while now and the story's I'm listening to is on the tip of the iceberg. So I went back to his very first video, this one, and just wow its amazing to see the quality that's he's kept up. Usually creepypasta readers start with not so good audo quality but this is amazing.
I'm so glad a found you via Being Scared's channel! ^_^ You're videos hold such a profound element that it has me held in it's grasp requesting more. These videos are so brilliantly made, I am left in awe at the atmosphere it creates. How all-encompassing! How immersive! I truly have found a treasure! Thank you for sharing your work! I look forward to the journey through your creations!
I’ve listened to probably hundred’s of creepypasta stories, and for some reason this was the one that finally got to me. After a few you start to get a little numb or used to it but something about the isolation... I don’t know but absolutely chilling, great narration by the way👍 subbed!
I was listening to simple creepy stories at work today, it takes me away from the mindless shuffling through dust.. Sitting down to eat my lunch I decided to look up something more.. Upbeat. Going to type in 'Dr. Phil' (don't judge too harshly) I only get to type. 'Dr' before your name came up. I am much much happier with this channel than I would have been with the fluff. I appreciate you.
Michael Whitehouse knows how to get under your skin. As someone who hates a quick trip to the crawl space beneath my own house, I could feel my pulse quicken as Henke moved toward 72F. Dr Creepen’s delivery was spot on, as was the background music throughout. Fantastic job, all around.
I have been looking for some thing new, scary, different and unpredictable. I usually use creepy pastas to fall asleep to. I hung on every word, like waiting for the next morsel of food. You are original, your narrative perfectly timed. I don't want to miss a word. Bravo Doc. Thank you for your refressing creations. Morgana
This was scary. Seeing the ghosts of the victims are bad enough, never mind the Nazi predators, that were evil enough for the negative feelings to live on. This was great, Doc. Another good one!
Your voice got scuffed when you said you saw her sleeve. That was awesome for visual, since it sounds like you were trying to speak quieter, with the walkie talkie against your mouth, so you wouldn't be overhears! :)
Is that Atari system on the screen? Or am I giving away how old I am 😏 Love This gentlemen's stories & your narrations. The ambience is perfectly done. It doesn't drown you out.
It is indeed (should I be letting on that I know that?!??!) Thanks... tried to get a long drone background noise on this one to give it a feeling of ever increasing doom.
I wonder if these tunnels really exist... If so, I kinda wanna go there. Btw, holy moly your dutch pronunciation is pretty good. Must've taken some practice :D
I love this. Its incredibly deep as far ss the human psyche goes as well as some horror and more nuanced factors. Excellent listening given the age of the upload when our good Doc was finding his rhythm
Most excellent narration! You have a wonderful voice. And if someone was interested in having their stories read, how would they submit a story to you?
Just as an aside, how lovely to hear the word Fictitious! And used properly! C.S. Lewis once said that we are given no real need that there wasn’t an answer to somewhere in the world, just that one word spoken aloud by another voice is proof! You, Brendan Cavenough and Terry Miles make the time I have way too much fun.
I think this is the oldest story I've listened to by you!!! You sound so different!! You're good in this video but I like how your voice sounds now so in my humble, inexperienced opinion, i think you've really improved!!
Sad to say, I've just discovered you but I'm trying to make up for lost time :) I've seen you mention that you like requests and wonder if you have read/heard Home from the Sea by Willie Meikle? I heard it a long time ago on Daylight Dims and listening to your excellent narration of Tunnels made me think you might enjoy.this story too. It's a favorite of mine. "Wits and swords are as straws against the wisdom of the Darkness..."
Love Michael Whitehouse!!! You and him together.......Awesome!! Also love this story...I used to explore abandoned castles and dungeons in Germany...so i know what it's like..very creepy
Another late night vibing out to the best of all creepypasta narrators. You sir blow Creepypasta Jr ,Creepsmcpasta ,and all the rest out of the water with your atmospheric and slow building silken tone. I can't stand a certain narrarator that shouts at me when he thinks the scene calls for it. totally ruins the atmosphere of creeping horror. no pun intended. well done sir !
Just recently found your channel and I have to say I am truly enjoying it. I am a scary story nut, probably a little to much on the nutty side lol. The detail in which you read are excellent, as a person who is loosing their hearing, voices are something I try to concentrate on because it is an individual's personal sound wave. Not trying to sound weird, oh to late, your voice is very enjoyable. You read very well expressing good feeling and I genuinely like the bass tones of your reading. Loosing my hearing I now use bass tones to help me hear better, it hits my ears differently allowing me to hear it better. Anyway weird ramble aside. Keep up the awesome work, I can't wait to delve into more of your stories 😆
Four years later I’m finally listening to this, the first (?) of your videos. How far you have come, Dr. C! You sound a bit nervous in this one. I don’t know if that was for effect or for the character, but either way it makes it sound extra creepy.

Very good story very good ending leaves you wondering what was it that he saw so terrorable in that tunnel. HE may have and fell victim to the horror of World War Il Germany.
Quite the interesting story also just makes me think of the new guys who always come on the job and say "I've been doing this longer so i know what's best" and refuse to even listen to the advice of the workers who work in the sector...

I eagerly await it.
Dr. Creepen you sound like a British General from the 1700s.
Love your stories and your narratives.I've listened to this one several times.dr creepens definitely does it justice!!
The tunnels of Amsterdam look an awful lot like a Commodore 64 game. How much RAM does Amsterdam have?
Haha... good question!
WordsmithVG can Amsterdam run DOOM?
420 RAMS by brother
@@coolkitten9834 CAN IT RUN CRYSIS?
I know Im quite randomly asking but does anyone know of a good site to stream new tv shows online ?
damn! that voice. one of the best narrators on UA-cam. perfect voice for horror. also Whitehouse is one hell of a writer
Thanks, O.j. It is always a joy to read one of his stories.
Found you by accident through CreepsMcPasta...glad I did! Your voice is amazing! ^_^ ^_^
Haha... thank you!
If you could just tell all of CreepsMcPasta's other subscribers to make their way over here, I'd be delighted!!!!

very nice, your pacing is fabulous, and you can't go wrong with mike whitehouse

+Kat SageWick You're very welcome.
By far one of the greatest voices telling us these amazing stories on UA-cam!!!
If it was just the Nazis who died in the tunnel long ago, where did the girl come from?
+Sage Stanley Good question.
I'm working on a presentation about things Nazis did during World War 2. Maybe I could research World War 2 stories like this and talk about ones that are at least partially true. It might even help me understand this one better.
Sounds like a good idea.
Should be fun.

Good times. I'll keep my eyes open for it.
Fantastic narration. Listening through all of your works, and this is honestly one of my favorites. Great mannerisms.
Thanks; given that this was one of my very first narrations, it means a lot that you and so many others approve of my early efforts.
I think I've finally found my ideal creepypasta narration. You are right up there with Creeparoni.
