This band is honestly the Dream Theater of Death Metal. And i dont say that in a depreciative sense by any means, but more on a elevating sense ,with all accolades due to them. I can’t tell you the last time I found a new metal band that I liked this much. I am so in awe at the RANGE of these vocals. My body is covered in chills my dudes. My stomach actually dropped when that breakdown hit. You definitely gained a new fan.
Did you know this song is actually a reference to Halo. The lyrics are basically about Master Chief not letting the Halo's be fired, which would destroy all life in the galaxy. That's what they mean by "murderous protocols." The name Shadow of intent is the name of a covenant ship and people who don't obey the covenant are called heretics. Which is why it's called the heretic prevails. The album reclaimer references how humans are called reclaimers by the forerunners.
Really? Lucky. My dog only grew 2 extra heads and a pair of wings, now he is really hard to maintain, ugh. He requires so many God damn goat sacrifices, he could at least pick up after himself!
So I've just stumbled across this band. I'm absolutely blown away. I'm normally not a fan of deathcore, most of it sounds the same to me. But this is different. His vocals are unique and there's no shortage of melody, instead of just chug chug chug. The piano has that haunting style of Make Them Suffers first two albums, which I loved. Can you recommend more deathcore bands similar to this one? Gracias
Not really similar to Shadow of Intent, but they are similar to Make Them Suffer's first albums. The band is She Must Burn, they're Symphonic Blackened Deathcore. They're really amazing, and I definitely recommend them. Like Ben, They're vocalist, Joseph, also has a pretty good range, and at some points, almost clean vocals. They also have a keyboardist who also does backup vocals as well and she's amazing also. I recommend Gloom, Possessed, The Wicked, Victoria, and After Death by them to start off with.
Late comment but I'm stoned and feel compelled to recommend. The band is Winds of Plague, the album is The Great Stone War. A dead band but it's one of my favorite albums of all time. A kinds of sweeping melodies and epic presentation pretty similar to the feeling I get listening to Shadow of Intent. When the album came out back in like '08 a lot of people who were fans didn't dig it, but it's a real gem. Highly recommend
saw them yesterday, only knew this song and holy shit it slapped, damnn... especially when that background melody appears on the breakdown at 3:34, chills
Even without Shadows of Intent and Slaughter to Prevail, SS would be incorrect haha. We'd at least still have Aversions Crown, Despised Icon, Lorna Shore, and much more.
I know people wanna give Lorna Shore their props and all with Will Ramos, and rightfully so. But I honestly think this song right here and what Ben Duerr was doing is really what pushed all these vocalists to be that much better. This really is a masterclass. He’s probably still got some of the best control I’ve ever heard. I remember being floored when this shit came out.

Really? Lucky. My dog only grew 2 extra heads and a pair of wings, now he is really hard to maintain, ugh. He requires so many God damn goat sacrifices, he could at least pick up after himself!
@@Mike-kl3mo the scarier the better
Redfield MC do the heads have different personalities, is the original one nice, the left one a jerk, and the right not so bright
All 3 are stupid jerks
Remember they're only like 18 years old and in this video they are extremely talented
One of the best breakdowns in history:
This has been on the top of my every recap since I found it, I've listened to this and unhealthy amount
3 guitarists 1 drummer SO GOOD
Incredible again!
love you both so much
Been waiting for this song since I saw the teaser on Facebook and this is exactly what I wanted to hear

Gracias
try Angelmaker
Exoplanet by the Contortionist (you're welcome for a classic)
Hey, sorry I'm 2 years late lol, but Lorna Shore has some good shit. Also very melodic.
saw them yesterday, only knew this song and holy shit it slapped, damnn... especially when that background melody appears on the breakdown at 3:34, chills
Banger
Literally one of the best deathcore songs ever written.
I get goosebumps every time the bass hits
Who said that deathcore is dead?
Apparently Suicide Silence said it hahahaha
Even without Shadows of Intent and Slaughter to Prevail, SS would be incorrect haha. We'd at least still have Aversions Crown, Despised Icon, Lorna Shore, and much more.
Suicide Silence is not a genre ...
Lorelei, Enterprise Earth, Angel Maker, A Night in Texas. mmmmmm
TEHEE
I got a notification that a new video was uploaded and I literally yelled ohhhh shittt!!! Fuck yea!!! Bad ass as always so hype for this album
I love that piano
