We were in Burleigh today, must have missed you!! We'll definitely be trying Red Hot Cod next time. Thanks for giving us another great food option on the Gold Coast.
Hey man I’m in Oklahoma, lovin’ your show,,,but I have a problem,,,you still haven’t eaten mountain oysters yet(fried cow balls) I bet you would get the more hits than any of your other vids and it would be way funny,,,we have festivals here we’re we eat them and loads of beer,,,do it man,do it for your crew, laters
I have to agree, 5 bucks is a really good deal for what you got. The fish had my mouth watering while you were eating it and now I want fish and chips for Sunday breakfast. Yum!
lots of 5 bux fish and chippos these days gergo but lots of em use basa the cheap sewer fish from mekong river.. but at my fisho i get a salad, aussie salmon and chips for 9.95 and big meal too i cant complain for that. they do fish and chip as well for 5 bux but if u get grilled its basa.. nz hoki for fried..
Looks tasty and crispy 😋 What’s the name of that place you went with your man friends? You sat outside, and the fish was massive! Was that place better? This wasn’t tooooo long ago
I think that's mostly a British thing? Lemon seems to be common in Aus and tomato sauce is the common one in NZ, but boy i tell ya, the first time I had malt vinegar on my fish and chips I was hooked.
@@mkuebler5 You are an Aussie? I'm Kiwi and like vinegar too but I was saying i think vinegar is most commonly used in the UK but it could just be an old school thing brought over with fish and chips
I was thinking, two orders per person, a side of coleslaw or some such veggie, and a desert would be about the same general costs as the local sit-down fish&chips restaurant. Of course, my two pints of local brewed ale would inflate that total, somewhat :) For fast food, it seems 'Hot (Red) Cod' takes the prize! Too bad I can't indulge, here in Oregon ... but consider the specialty beer, aye mate?
Greggo...been to Australia 8 years ago. I've just come home from drinking and all I wanna have right now are those fish n chips! I love your videos. Greetings from Germany
Greg, I've been meaning to ask you if you live anywhere near Narang? My ex-girlfriend loves there. I used to go to Australia two or three times a year when we were dating. Mostly the Good Coast, Brisbane, and sometimes Sydney.
Hey you didn't save me any?😃😃😃😃😃. Greg love your videos? Your awesome? U should of told me I would have gone with you? U for got to tell me what time was lunch?
How come stuff is cheaper on the Gold Coast. I lived there in the 90s & I remember buying petrol for 55 cents a litre. Meanwhile in NSW, the rip off State, petrol was selling for 89 cents a litre.
Call that a fish? I've caught sticklebacks in the local stream that are bigger than that. Come to Haydon Bridge, Northumberland, Their fish is so big you'd have trouble fitting it in the back of your pickup. What's with the lemon thing? That's what posh people put on chips. The only thing you should put on chips is salt and non-brewed condiment.
😳 no mushy peas? it’s not a proper fish supper without mushy peas! or a jar of muscles/cockles at a stretch! small bit of fish though, here in scotland that’s a pensioners supper costing about £3/4. a normal sized one here is around £5/6
Hmm In this day and age I guess 5 bucks for that is ok. Was it real fish? or flake? As it does not stipulate most likely not. Or IMO if they are using real fish and chips for 5 bucks and they want you to see its a real bargain they would stipulate now that is just IMO. I had a giggle when you said you don't expect them to peel and boil the chips themselves but that is exactly what I expect because that is what we use to get get, but not any more. Fish and chips are not and never will be the same but at least these one are closer to what I would call chips not those hardly there spud that is most likely not real spud shoestring crap you get from Maccas. I challenge you to find old school fish and chips shop, One that sell's at least flake or real fish not but most important in store made chips not frozen. Any way yet another good video from you Greg
When I was a young boy in the 60's living in California USA, my dad and I used to eat at a small now defunct fish and chips restaurant which I absolutely loved. The fish was cod or pollock. I was wondering what you meant by the fish being real or flaked. Thanks in advance.
@@todome1 Thank you for your comment. Flake is what we here in Australia get when you go to most fish and chips. For $5 What do you expect? Turn it up! a whole lot more than that I can get a large chips and 2 scallops for $5 from my local takeaway. I don't know what it's like in Brisbane but from the look of that looks like a rip off.
come to the north west of england for proper fish and chips. you'll get twice the amount of fish and a hell of a lot more chips and I'll guarantee you it tastes better. prove me wrong.
They certainly looked decent and for $5... That's great value.
Wow. That's one beautiful looking piece of fish
Fish nugget. Its tiny. But what does anyone expect for the Money I suppose.
We also use garlic salt with chicken salt here in New Zealand
That for $5 is pretty great in this expensive takeaway world!
In Australia that's a great deal haha.
@@pinksugarbird9789 It really is...

Fish and chips awesome I didn't know aussies had them but I'm glad they do 😁
have you tried the fish and chips from red rooster?
also i miss the days when the shops made their own chips and served them in newspaper

And all I want now is a beer mmmmm
That fish fillet is the size of a fish cocktail at my local fish and chip shop 🤣
I'm not too fussed on the chips. I'm assuming that means not liking the chips very much lol. Love it. Hi Bernice
It can mean that, or it can just mean indifference. Either or, really.
Thanks, Greg it is hard to get Fish and Chips!
I need some of that
i might go back there today

Fish chips say is ready yummy $5 value meals
Why don’t they make their own chips from scratch they do in chippys in Britain our chips are the best but that fish looked delicious x
