I did research on this about a year ago... and couldn't quite understand where this filter resided. Thanks for making this video so I can get this assembly ordered up. Also just an FYI there is also a fuel filter that resides in the saddle fuel tank next to the main tank you should replace but that ⛽ filter is often overlooked as well.
Hi, glad this was helpful, I did actually open up that saddle fuel tank and removed the unit, though for me that little filtration net was really clean, not even a spec of dirt, but is easy to check anyways while doing this job.
@@AndyZULUL Just checked with my local Mitsubishi dealer on that fuel pump housing filter unit and it looks like it may not be available or out of stock. Crazy how some of these parts are being discontinued already.
Is it possible to just add a secondary fuel filter in the engine bay before the injection. One could just cut the fuel line and install a universal fuel filter, however I dont know if that would cause problems with the fuel pump or with the injection. What do you think?
It’s definitely possible and people do it this way too, easy way to make sure it’s problem free is just to test the fuel pressure of before and note it down, and then see if the fuel pressure matches after you install an inline one.
Hi. Can you tell me reason why you changed fuel pump head unit? you got any problem? Im gonna change mine because I have some fuel problem. At peak boost I have some fuel problem. Feel like fuel does not press enough. So before I change my injector Im gonna change this filter first. Because I think there’s lot of dust or sth else. My fuel pump is new one. Also does parts number MR571545 that you mentioned in your video also fit on JDM evo8 ?
i’m changing mine because the filter of a car this age is usually very dirty, so that way I get clean fuel to the car, and yes the part fits in jdm. also make sure your spark plugs are gapped correctly, I had similar problem which was solved by making the gap smaller
@@AndyZULUL Thanks! My coil and plugs are also new one so Im so confuse now. I’ll check my plug again and change my fuel filter. Hope my problem get solve :)
Update for people curious, no problem with my car, all good, i know the video felt a bit janky but it’s workin.
Thanks for the great vid, really cant belive how little information there is on this topic.
Very well explained to satisfactorily

@@AndyZULUL Thanks for the reply, but how I would measure the fuel pressure?
@@ngg.7891 Try search forums, but usually you need to fit a fuel pressure gauge somewhere in the fuel system and just crank the car.
