The Bret/Shawn feud around this time was at its zenith. Both guys did whatever they could to get the upper hand on one another. All leading up to the infamous locker room brawl the night after this show, in which Bret ripped out clumps of Shawn’s hair.
Had the injury at Royal Rumble 98 not happened Austin/Michaels here at King of the Ring 97 is the match we could have had and honestly should have had at Wrestlemania 14
Worst injury time was post King of the Ring 2001. Triple H injured his quad. Chris B. broke his neck. Austin & Angle both bang up but good enough to act, so they had that 3-4 week spand trying to cheer up Vince McMahon without taking a bump.
On the Hitman HBK rival sit down interview with Jim Ross….it’s apparent that Bret wasn’t being truthful claiming he honestly forgot his line. In the actual clip….you can see two WWF officials in suits outside the ring right in front of Bret telling him to wrap it up.
Could be that. Or it could be Bret wasn't wrapping it up because like he said, he couldn't remember the closing line that would que Shawn superkicking him.
@@ShadowAngel-lt8nwjust pretend I had the promo of Shawn calling out Taker knowing he wasn’t in the building or crotch chopping in JRs face in biker shorts. Both guys at the time had unprofessional moments.
This is my exact problem with wrestling now......I'm in my late 20s and grew up with the end of the attitude Era, etc.....the fact that the Lawler promo on the Rhodes family is considered "offensive" and is looked down upon is absolute bullshit to me. As a wrestling fan, Ik wrestling has always poked the bear at current politics, gone after people with shooting promos like Bret/Shawn or Piper, Slaughter,etc.....those guys were all HOF talent......I literally can't watch wrestling now because of the tip-toeing on eggshells on promos or angles.....it's just absolute nonsense. I understand why they do it because it's a public company and also making $ globally, but I just wish that wrestling never lost its roots of being an art like comedy. Touching all subjects of life and not caring who got offended, pushing the envelope, etc.....sorry for the rant, but damn man.....I miss the way wrestling used to be.
In 1997 this is one of the most best years of wrestling. It was so over the top that you have to make sure you caught it every Monday night whether it was nitro or raw…. When anyone talks about the best years of pro wrestling in my personal opinion, and I think many other people would agree is 1996 1997 and 1998 and by late 1999 it was starting to go downhill. The momentum was fading by that time.
A Kenny Bolin Mention at the 19 Min Mark talking about The Legendary Kroger Meat Oppurtunity. Kenny tried to teach this craft to Bruce one night at an OVW TV taping at Bruces request. We need to hear what Bruce tried and failed at Walmart. LOL
Jeez Conrad. You can talk about the Jerry Lawler promo without being so apologetic and terrified that the cancel culture mob are going to come out and get you. Have a little bit of courage. You also quoted it wrong. Do your research.
Always wondered, how many knees did Ahmed Johnson think he had?

97 was such a good year in the WWF.
NS
It was gonna be HBK vs Pillman that raw after this show. What could have been…..
@@shaneclancy4083have you read the Titan Trilogy books?
Bruce made me want to see an Ivan Putski promo and hit someone with the Polish Hammer
39:25 WWE were playing the race card with Thurman ‘Sparky’ Plugg too!
Oh fuck Kermit the 🐸. That tag match with Shawn and Austin vs Owen and Bulldog was great.
Love these full episodes good to see video ever now and then

And then you didn't have Rock for months. Granted that wasn't a injury, but it definitely didn't help with the injuries to top guys happening.
Why do people speak the name of that maggot dog for
Snowball Derby is in Pensacola. Been to Mobile speed way many times to watch a fight and a race would break out.
Behold the King
The King of Kings
On your knees dog
Ahahah
All hail
🎵Bow down to the-, bow down to the King🎵
That totally looks like Mick Foley. I think it is.
Bruce will defend shit ideas with his life , he’ll go down with the ship .
"The Red Rooster would have gotten over if Terry embraced it." 🤣
Rip to the Shiek , what a personality. Only appreciated him as an adult .

Yeah! I call bullshit on Bret “not seeing” the go home signal

@@chico1680 but Bret as a professional should’ve improvised and thought of something else to wrap up his segment for the sake of the show/ business
@@chico1680 Doubtful, it was Bret doing what he does best: Acting completely unprofessional.

Im in my late 30s , best years were 1996-2006
@Eddie Looking back, I would agree especially with that being the year the NWO started too haha.
@veganhigler6541 Sad but true
@@eddie9244 Agreed
The fact that conrad can't bring himself to talk about the promo without a cowardly disclaimer is a damn shame.

New name for people who are a pain in the A** SUPER FAN 😉
lol it was a shoot I’d say
Why didn't Dustin & Cody get a run as normal rather then Goldust & Stardust?
They did
Why does UA-cam give me adds in Spanish I'm like wtf lol
This is America!
Why did the KOTR PPV get cancelled?
KOTR 2002 did a low buyrate so Vince put a stop to it.
They ran out of capes and scepters.
King booker was the best 1
Imagine Sid & Vader still being in WWF throughout 99 & 2000.. Would've been awesome matches with Triple h, Stonecold & Rock
The Katie Vick mention was total LOW BROW and the WWE should have scrubbed that trash from television
Cuck
NOBODY CARED ABOUT GOLDUST!!!!!
Ron Simmons was amazing. Farooq was not.
