      Dr Melissa , In May this year I was diagnosed with Levator Anti Syndrome , I have Hypertonic pelvic muscles , was having issues going #2 so my 1 doctor put me on high fiber diet to help with that along with Metamucil every day and made big difference but I need help with Excercises for Hypertonic pelvic muscles, my problem is , I was in bad car accident in 2016 so my left hip has limited range of motion , 15 pins and chain plating that hold my Full artificial hip in place , I lost my good medical insurance so can't just run to doctor. Any way I'd be able share my Hip x ray with you so you could assist me in Excercises that I can do ? Tonight I want try the ones you show In video but not sure how well I'll he able do them due to limited range of motion In my hip. The pain this has been causing me since May is simply getting to me , making me depressed and anxiety go up bad , has me feeling hopeless. I'm just sick of being in pain.

    You are truly amazing Dr. M! I’ve done many of your Pelvic floor relaxation videos for 3 months and have eliminated all pain. I still breathe too shallow so here I am working on the basics. It’s a frustrating journey but you make it all better and give me hope. Thank you.

    What I have seen from so many videos watched, people commenting ,without sharing how and why they got better because of your video or other videos.
    Try to encourage more of a witness statement from people. Ask them questions about their journey and how your stretches helped their difficilty.
    We who desire help need to hear success as to our difficulty.
    Like Pelvic Floor, ask them to share how that stretched helped them more than others!
    Thank you for letting me share.
    The world is listening and needing your wisdom.

      Find out from your audience what!!!they are looking for in your!!!answers.
      Learn to bring help answers.
      You may be trying to cover all bases.
      You have ability to really help all of us.
      Look at being More into your conversation of help.
      Ask your listeners to tell you their journey and how you might better facilitate that answrs.
      Doctor patient relations in past have been about treating the symorom!!!!!
      Which you may be just doing in your stetches.

      Stretches can always be modified to do standing verses kneeling or extra padding under the knee. We also have this all standing pelvic floor relaxation video you might enjoy ua-cam.com/video/5fCEig6KIUw/v-deo.htmlsi=v4GEOmlwVT14fCOx

    Hi there! Can you explain a bit more why the second exercises (opening up the diaphragm and lower rib cage) helps with hypertonic pelvic floor? Your response to that question in the video is that it can help with a tight diaphragm, but how does a right diaphragm contribute to a hypertonic pelvic floor?
    Thank you!

    • @DrMelissaOleson
      @DrMelissaOleson  10 місяців тому +1

      Great question, it's learning how the core & pelvic floor system works. The diaphragm is part of the system and needs to be able to relax and contract. When we inhale the diaphragm descends going down towards pelvic floor and on the exhale the diaphragm contracts and comes back up. If the diaphragm isn't able to descend it creates tension and tightness because of increased intra-abdominal pressure. If the mid back, rib cage area is tight this impacts how the diaphragm works.

    Hello Dr.
    I am having diastasis recti with umbilical hernia after my 2 kids with c-section. Soon I am going for the surgery for the same. I am experiencing too frequent urination and I find that it takes time to empty my bladder, means slow urine flow which gets better a bit if I lean forward or normal if I sit in squatting position, like that of Indian toilet. I have overactive bladder since a long time too but it's getting worse with time. Dr. Please guide me as what to do, I am too stressed as today I read this urination problem can damage kidneys. PLEASE HELP

    Diastasis Recti & Hypertonic Pelvic Floor be fixed simultaneously?

    • @DrMelissaOleson
      @DrMelissaOleson  Рік тому

      They can be! It’s all about learning to manage intra-abdominal pressure and properly activate your core & pelvic floor. Those muscles need to both relax and activate 💜

    Should I stop lifting weights if my pelvic floor is tight ? Can it stop my progress after doing this exercises ?

    • @DrMelissaOleson
      @DrMelissaOleson  8 місяців тому

      I always recommend checking in with your doctor for what’s best for you. The key is how you are doing exercises and optimizing the core and pelvic floor system With those exercises

      Every time I lift weights my symptoms gets worse again, so me personally I’m taking a year off of lifting. Thought about trying to lift light weights or just do cables instead. Frustrating AF
