She is the first guitarist to enter a music school in China and obtaining a Bachelor of Arts from the Central Conservatory of Music, being the first Chinese guitarist to launch a successful professional career on the international stage.
She is the first guitarist from China to study in the United Kingdom and the first-ever guitarist to receive an international scholarship from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.
She is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Music and the only recipient of the Royal Academy of Music Principal’s prize for an exceptional all-round studentship in 2002.
She was named as one of the 100 top classical musicians of our time by Classic FM, the UK classical music magazine.
She was named “Six of the best female classical guitarists” by BBC Music Magazine.
She was acclaimed by the classical music magazine Gramophone that “the guitar world has a new star”.

For the 4th China-UK International Music Festival online concert series, we are honoured to have invited “China’s Finest Guitarist” and “Guitar Goddess” - Xuefei Yang, joined by the special guest, the renowned British tenor In Bostridge, to give us a concert featuring the fusion of Chinese and Western music.
The programme of the concert is also very diverse, including “Seven Desires for Guitar” by the Chinese compose Tan Dun, rearrangements of The Beatles, and some works adapted from ancient Chinese poetry. Let us wait and see!

Xuefei Yang is one of the best guitarists in the world! Like all her performances!
I feel like xuefei yang is the absolute most under-rated classical guitarist that I currently know of. There's something almost magically perfect and so full of honest emotion in her playing that I don't personally notice in most other players anyway.

Bostridge and Yang are both top-shelf artists. I'd love to hear a recording of them where I could hear a little more of the detail and nuance in the Britten.

That loud smallman and the solid touch of the guitarist. Guitar sounds strike a good balance, not overwhelmed by human voice as with usual ensemble scene on stage.
