Realized I mention animatics but don’t explain them, so here it goes! They are similar to PMVs in that they aren’t full animation, but usually lack the sliding elements and focus on music (although there will probably be some sort of audio) and will often consist of more rough drawings than complete, colored ones. And if you have any questions about this topic, ask away!
I have a question on a video I made would my fairytale and gossip animations be considered pmv or animatic? It's to music. The frames are mostly still but in gossip animation I do have a raising hand.
@@shortanimations50 I don’t see them on your channel but it’s PMV if it’s a video of pictures moving only slightly, usually in simple directions. An AMV is frame-by-frame animation or sometime tweening, where the motion is more detailed and in more quantity, and the drawings aren’t just still images moving across the screen. I have examples of PMVS and animations in my channel if you want to see what a fully finished example would look like, I also have ones with both AMV and PMV in on video. I like the art you have so far though, just didn’t see the ones you listed (I’m blind)
@@nemuikujira thanks gor taking the time to watch through my videos. What specific ones of yours should I watch. I looked through your channel a little bit
Also, you may see the abbreviation MEP. A MEP stands for multi *editor* project, they work the same as a MAP except it’s for people who edit existing animation/pictures instead of drawing them themselves. I thought I might mention this as I am a member of the Gacha community and we host MEPs instead of MAPs.
Also do you mind if i say what communities i know post MEPs? As an existing member of the warriors community and the wcue community ik alot abt both ^ ^ The gacha community, The wcue community, Likely other communities that have character storytime aspects aswell, (ex: playing as your character)
Thank you! Asking google about the abbreviation 'MAP' mostly leads to very unsavory people. You're the only person I found without searching for half an hour who actually explains what the abbreviation means in the specific context of UA-cam videos.
So those videos from Schaffrillas that were made by multiple animators with the Disney songs are MAPS? Thanks for the infamtion of this video. You don't know how happy I am have watch this video
I just joined my first one, rn im doing my best to fully color it, it's painful even though I have a month to animate it I'm doing it within 3 days because i have school in 2 days. I wasn't expecting the deadline to be so short but I feel bad for leaving so I'm still gonna do it. ;-;
Thank you I was wanting to host one for Halloween but didn’t know how! Little did I know I was on the right path with the backups and something similar to a map call, more like a hey guys I’m doing this lol 😂
1:02 - 1:11 Could there also have been moments when MAPs aren't finished in time, because the host(s) couldn't find enough animators (including backups) to finish each clips? Because that's the issue I'm having. But I'm not giving up (even if I miss my intended deadline).
One day I'd love to host or contribute to a project (even if I can't animate anything too complex, I'm just too determined because I want to try something I haven't done before regardless of my skills)
The worst that can happen is you don't get in, and if you're worried about not being as skilled as the other participants, that's normal! The people who feel this way will create their best work yet out of determination to measure up lol
Yes, basically audios are cut up to parts. So depending if its an anything map (no script) or an Oc map (oc of host with script), you have to animate the scene/part.
Hmmm I haven't thought about that. In every MAP I've joined the host did at least one of the parts. I guess it's possible for the host to not do a part, but hosts are typically animators themselves and I think the host doing a part shows the participants that they are committed to the project and aren't just sitting back using the animators skills for views lol. Hard to say though!

You should totally host a MAP!
this was really helpful. i applied for an map the other day, and i was confused.
I already knew these, but thanks for some extra information! I'll totally try to join your MAP if you end up hosting one

Wow! I'm glad this channel got recommended to me. You just got a new fan. ^^
This is an unrelated thing, but I love your lineless artstyle! I'm to lazy to try it because I feel like it would be hard to do
This needs more views
