      @wheezly bee was it too small?
      I wore something like that before everyone started to years ago right after I had my kid cause of my mom's urging to help heal,looks better, and I had no issues. But I think it's cause I didn't go to small and it really did make a difference and alot of people complimented how my waist looked days within having a kid cause of those which I did tell what I did cause I hate people that keep stuff like that secret. But definitely helped my swelling and etc too.

      @@constantine9142 I was just going to say this! After both my csections I LOVE waist trainers. I feel like I’m held in and just much more secure right after.

    • @jvinson4181
      @jvinson4181 3 роки тому +54

      I have had 4 C sections and though I have never tried waist trainers after, I learned recently that they are highly recommended after a C section to help hold everything in place as you heal because you have to be careful about doing too much in case you pop open your incision again, so yeah, that seems like a great application for these! It also seems like it would have just provided support in that area that was so weak at the time and maybe that would be true of all post pregnancy situations. Wish I had used them!

    I really really appreciate how you started off the video saying your waist size doesn't matter! Sometimes I get caught up in the tiny waist/big hips "ideal body" that's shown all over the media. Thank you for keeping it real.

    • @traczebabe
      @traczebabe 2 роки тому +8

      When I was young, the ideal was stick figure thin. No waist, no butt. I think that still in play except now the extra behind & super curvy waist, which doesn’t exist in any women’s natural body. Celebrities get implants, fat removed in certain areas and the clothes are fitted to them. To make the new body icon look like it’s real & achievable without getting the surgery & other procedures done. Whatever the world is selling, it’s not allowing for realism’s. ❤️

      I don't think it is about weight loss, but more about having a smaller waist and weight loss alone is not going to give you the extremely small barbie waist that a waist trainer does. It actually moves your organs so that your waist is smaller. Perhaps I'm wrong, but that is my understanding of the waist trainer.

    Yes to the health goals over the aesthetic goals! I started following a powerlifting program a couple years ago and training for strength has changed my life. My body changes, I gain weight, I'm bloated or I'm just having a bad body image day but none of that affects my motivation in the gym because that's not what I'm there for. Exercise now is something that makes me feel powerful instead of being a tool to change my body. I wish more women were introduced to exercise as a form of skill and strength building rather than purely a way to fit societal beauty standards.

    i used to waist train when i was 14-16. and let me tell you it’s just a temporary fix . I did it for two months straight and “lost a lot of weight” but really i was just getting an eating disorder. this suppressed my hunger along with me having depression and never having the energy to leave my bed and eat . I’d binge eat with fast food every week and the waist trainer was always my “backup plan”. I went into freshman year very thin and didn’t even notice till my friends pointed it out and asked what i did to lose weight. i lost my ass and my thighs which i naturally had with genetics and playing soccer but i lost most of my fat and muscle . It basically gave me an eating disorder. now 3 years later I’m healthier than i ever was when i waistrained. I just walk 2-4 miles a day and eat everything in moderation and i maintain my weight. my point is if you want to fit in a dress and want to do this as a temporary thing for like a month then go ahead but don’t start relying on waist training forever , especially if you have a history with bad eating habits , binge eating , anorexia, and eating disorders. anyways stay safe y’all hope this was informative and helped !!

    My grandmother wore a corset her whole life which is exactly the same as a waist trainer, and it resulted in her losing all the strength in her core. As Hope said at the end of the video they do the opposite of train your waist, they do the work for you so you're not engaging your core. My grandmother also had back issues which were no doubt a result of wearing a corset because she wasn't working the muscles in her core or back and it was her corset holding her up, not her own muscles. They really are yet another daft idea to get people to pay more money for leggings they don't need.

      This is correct and makes me want to add that SHOES are doing the same thing for your feet! “Foot shaped” shoes are the best shoe for letting your feet stretch and strengthen the way they need to while protecting them. Modern shoes also cause more people to develop bunions when they age due to the toes being brought in instead of flaring slightly out like toes naturally should.

    I used a waist trainer for the 2nd 6 weeks of pilates, and I feel it helped me focus on my core with more intention, making the mind/muscle connection. The first few weeks of pilates were difficult, and I didn't feel I was contracting my abdominals well at all. My 3" diastasis closed! I have 6 kiddos, including a set of twins. Was it the trainer? Would I have had the same results without? I don't know......but I am thrilled with the outcome!

  • @strongerbynature5842
    @strongerbynature5842 3 роки тому

    fun fact; much like corsets the secrets of waist trainers are that they just make it harder to eat a lot because of the way the pressure constricts and manipulates your stomach/insides, especially with anything that is made of a less forgiving material than elastic(there are some great demos of how corsets did this in the old days on yt).
    so if people are hardcore waist training (which often means they're wearing waspie corsets during the day as well) AND working out, they're more than likely in a calorie deficit and if hardcore waist training using waspies as well they can actually seriously damage/deform their insides

    Leo picked out videos for me to watch, I feel so special. I'm glad you check out the gimmicks for us. I have back issues and I have a brace for it. I only wear it when it's really, really bad for the reason you said. My muscles will get worse depending on the brace. Most medical professionals will say the same thing.

    Seriously, those adds frustrating me SO bad! As a feminist, our grandma's and their moms fought to gets all types of corsets out of our lives because it's legit deformed and compress your internal organs and these companies are literally RUINED all of it by bringing back them in a form of "fitness waist trainer". Bullshit! They abused of people's ignorance to make them believe that "it's good for your health". Arrrrrggghhh! 😤
