Been watching local forester's reviews.. yours is the best..
Nothing too fancy in the presentation, no attention grabbing girls presenting, no unwanted humor... good job!

I think I found my favourite reviewer for this car, so much detail (especially boot/cargo space measurements). Explanation on point.
Aussie forester I-S i think is the same as this so it resonates well .

    AWD power 💪
The Forester's price is very proximate to the pricing of the smaller XV (probably contributes to Forester's better sales).

Subaru Foresters were first designed to be a family car, that is probably the reason why they held back on adding a turbo on their engine. You don’t want to race down the highway with your whole family at the backseat. That is why they invested more with their safety features rather than adding a turbo. If you want speed, get the BRZ or WRX, not the Forester.

Noticed, Vince, that the roads even in the Philippines is kind of rough...like it is in many places in the U.S.
The more I study seriously the details of cars (which I've been doing for almost two years), I seem to come back to the "Subie" Forester. I have a 2004 basic model. I've had it since September 2003 when I bought it with just 3 miles on it. Paid for it with a trade complete. It has as of now (8-2022) 136, 800 miles. It's showing its age and potential "problems" so, next car...another Forester. And, at my age (about 72), I don't need speed...never actually wanted that, just dependable transportation with some extra room and height from the ground. This 2022 model looks great! Even the color shown (Bronze) is nice.
Good review of this car. Thanks!

4 year owner 2019 forester owner.

Still in love with my XT. Subaru should bring that variant back for this new gen Forester..

Insightful review as always Vince! You are one of my trusted car reviewers.
Just wondering. In the list of competitors, the Toyota RAV4 HEV is mentioned as AWD, I thought TMPI only released FWD RAV4 HEVs. Even in your recent CR-V review, the RAV4 HEV is listed as AWD. May you clarify if indeed there is an AWD variant of the RAV4 HEV? Thanks

Sorry about that. We meant to put FWD for the RAV4 😊
      Thanks for the kind words!

subarus are getting more and more expensive.....one reason why i felt bad about getting the XV instead was that it was close to the price of a forester or mazda cx5 awd sport. despite being the slowest in subarus line up.

i wish they updated the tail lights a little bit. yes the stopping brake lights are bright but when it's in park light mode, it's not as visible at night

The XT comes with a turbo-charged engine, right? Thank you, but I'll pass because turbo-charged engine have the reputation for increasing the wear and tear on your engine and I like to keep my cars for over 10 years. Nice review though, thank you!

WHAT A RIP OFF A 2.0 ENGINE isn't even made in the west. They have a 2.5 engine with 184 horsepower with a lower price.

    • @topethermohenes7658
      @topethermohenes7658 2 місяці тому

Because 80-90% of driving in the west involves highway speeds and high altitudes. In PH 95% of driving is in traffic and 98% of cities are 100ft from sea level. It's the reason most cars here have only 100hp. This forester is actually already too much

No matter how good on specs, it does not relate to true performance. Bad customer service. Not durable. Always defective. Waste of money
